franchasng: Don't blame the landlords (house owners) in Nigeria, blame the tax master President that foisted himself on Nigerians because of Buhari's inefficiency
To build a single storey building in Nigeria today requires a minimum of 110million Naira, this does not include cost of buying land.
Now tell me how you want a house owner to recover his investment if after using such exorbitant amount to erect an upstairs and he collects say 800,000 naira per year as rent? It may take him 50 years or more to recover the money he used to build the house?
Nigerians should direct their anger towards the zero performing owomida government of Tinubu.
Landlord also have his own living cost to bear, and the only way he can recoup is through his house for rent Balderdash A house is an investment for the landlord. It is a tangible asset that always appreciates in value and he can always sell the house anytime at a profit in figures greater than what he built the house with. Landlords are not expected to recoup the cost of building their houses in 10 years from tenant rents. The rent gotten is an additional income he can be using for his monthly expenses and the intent is never to recoup it from rents over a 10 or 12 year period. We get things so wrong in Nigeria |

It's the major cause of suicides worldwide. Once someone is depressed nothing else matters in this world. Joy is totally eroded from ones life. |

Almunjid: It appears that your definition of "illiteracy" might be limited to the lack of proficiency in English, which is a common misconception. This narrow perspective contributes to the problem in Nigeria where employers often prioritize English proficiency over industry-relevant skills. As a result, the country produces graduates who excel in English but lack marketable skills, contributing to a workforce with limited value. It is important to recognize that the individual being mocked could potentially possess greater skills and qualifications than those judging him based solely on his English proficiency.
Peace! My dear nairaland brother, no matter the course of study in the university. If you diligently faced your studies and graduated from the four walls of a university you can't write like this. Everything is wrong with that write-up. |

TruthHurts1: A query letter written by a Nigerian Local Government authority, has been shared and reposted on several social media platforms because of its glaring spelling errors and poor grammatical structure.
Several users on the X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter) have wondered how the letter was able to pass through several official hands without anyone picking up on any of its flaws. These are the kind of people holding public offices. I can bet you most of your government officials are illiterate like this. Shame and very sad
