Edo 2020 Election will be remembered for all the drama surrounding it and all the various events that preceded it, which ended up orchestrating the final outcome of the elections. The discord that strained the relationship between the then former National Chairman of the APC Adams Oshiomole and the Governor of the state Godwin Obaseki which occasioned a series of events that caused the erstwhile National Chairman to be suspended and finally removed also played a vital role in the direction the whole process went. The dissonance between the two gladiators resulted in the disqualification of the incumbent APC Governor of the state causing him to defect to PDP and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu crossing from PDP to APC. The stage was set for two titans to battle with Adams Oshiomole backing the APC Candidiate, the Edolites were evenly divided between the two candidates until a certain National APC Leader made a video for the people of Edo state to vote for Ize-Iyamu. This was the worst political strategy that could be employed by APC in a terrain charged with the ideology of pushing out God-Fatherism (which resulted in the election slogan “Edo is not Lagos”) by the people of the state. The video was perceived by the average Edo man as an insult on the pride of Edo People. When the video went public there was a lot of outrage on social media from the Edolites within the country and in diaspora. This wrongly timed and ill planned move resulted in a massive support for the incumbent Governor to prove that “Edo is not Lagos” were one man can control every one and every resources in the state, worse of all one man in Lagos having to control the great people of Edo state from his sitting room in Lagos. The Edo 2020 Elections goes a long way to show the rest of Nigerians that the People hold the strength of a nation and not in the hands of a few politicians. Obaseki’s victory is not a victory for him but a Victory for the people and a Victory against God-Fatherism. http://omatablog.com/?p=2727

An exclusive interview with the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party for the EDO 2020 Governorship Election Mrs. Pauline Akhimien-Omogbelehan Please briefly introduce yourself. I am Pauline Akhimien-Omogbelehan from Iruekpen in Esan West LGA of Edo State. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Zoology Degree from the University Of Benin. I worked in International Freight Forwarding And Logistics in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. I worked as Manager International Operations At Joe-Eboje International Agencies Limited. I was also the Managing Director of the Edo State owned Edo City Transport Service (ECTS) before going into Inter-State transport on my own and Events Planning and Management. I have attended Transport And Logistics trainings and conferences as well as exhibitions in Nigeria, Aberdeen, Monaco, London, Paris, Italy, Canada And South Korea. I am married with children What does EDO2020 election mean to you as a Candidate on the Labour Party Platform? Edo 2020 is a turning point of reality. Why is this? We must accept the fact that in the last year you have seen party build on hatred of an individual just to destroy and disobey party structure. Labour Party is basically concerned with making the people know that the leadership of the state is the choice of the people and not the leadership of the party. We are running an all-inclusive campaign which is already going on and re- educating the youths to know that violence is basically detrimental to them. So we are campaigning as well as doing a Voter Education exercise. We want the people to know that politics can be achieved in a peaceful terrain without violence. We also are interested in hearing from the people on issues that are fundamental to them and not solely presenting our Manifesto to them What are your expectation about the election knowing that Edo state is a predominantly APC and PDP states? Right now there’s that silent apathy for those two parties and the Edo people are really desirable of any party that showcases its seriousness to rule. So we are optimistic that all will go well. Please can you give us a brief insight on the Manifesto of the Labour Party for the EDO2020 ELECTION? OUR MISSION :- Labour Party Government in Edo State will be committed to Social Justice and ensure Democratic Governance of the People, by the People and for the People. Our focus will be to sustain and improve on the present level of Development in Edo State. Our Cardinal Programmes will include: Rule of Law and the Security of Lives and Property Productive Economy and Diversification Agricultural Development Educational Development Health Development Jobs Creation and Employment Infrastructural Development Public Service Modernization and Reward for Civil Servants Political Education and Citizens Socialization Public Policy Formulation, Implementation and Citizens Partnership How has the party tried to make known its manifesto to the people of the state? First and foremost you must appreciate that the working class citizens make up well over 65% of labour and are already driven and protected by the laws of labour. We have been having weekly town hall meetings and press conferences. Our jingles are ongoing in the various electronic media houses in the state. Our Posters and handbills are out and being distributed. So our manifesto is basically people oriented and structured to providing a better life for the people and respecting the people’s right to choices. We are centered on Infrastructure, qualitative education, economic and social welfare for the good of all and most importantly providing a secured environment for our people to thrive. What is LP strategy to winning the Governorship Election? Reigniting the core values of Labour on a door to door basis and alerting the public on media of the only reason why labour can be trusted most especially in a time where lies, deceit and money sharing without constructive purpose have been misconstrued to be good values. What will the people of Edo State expect from LP if they were to win the EDO2020 election? A stable working environment that gives dignity to the workers , provides a friendly environment for investment , move deeper into the Agricultural sector and build on the Alagodaro which the current government has introduced and take a more holistic look at providing good health care for all at minimal cost and in some cases completely subsidized where necessary . And a tax system that builds the economy with no pressure at all on the people as they pay their taxes. What is LP plan to unite the people of the state as there seem to be a lot of divide along ethnic and political line within the state? Ethnicity has become a systematic problem because we have abandoned meritocracy. Any society that does that can only be faced with what we have now. Within political lines, values have been lost just to satisfy political jobbers for delivering votes at all cost. So we will have to re-organize the entire system with merit being the fundamentals while upholding federal character as implied by the constitution. What is the level of support at the moment from Edos both at Home and in Diaspora? Diaspora has shown a remarkable interest in labour and most importantly on the pair that we showcase today as candidates. Edo people at home are also showing support for the Party. Our people are very interested in changing the dynamics of things now. http://omatablog.com/?p=2436

Parents are always amazed at how fast their children develop more respect, manners, and self control at home after taking a kids karate class. "Where did this come from?" they wonder. The answer is simple - children learn to have a better attitude and better manners in their karate school and this also transfers over to home life. Many good martial arts schools will include homework in their curriculum to help students work on self discipline outside the karate school, but even if homework assignments are not a part of the curriculum a good karate program will teach children to be more respectful, take responsibility for themselves, and have personal pride. Respect Using "Sir" and "Ma'am" There are many ways that karate lessons for kids teach respect. The first way is through the language that is used in a martial arts studio. Students will refer to each other and to their instructors as "sir" or "ma'am." First names are rarely used, instead students and instructors go by last name and title, for example, Mr. Brown or Ms. Jones. This instills a sense of respect for everyone in the class, regardless of age or belt rank. Eye Contact Karate classes also teach children to be respectful by showing them how to communicate. Kids learn to make eye contact with someone who is speaking to them or when they are speaking, rather than looking away and not paying attention. Honoring Rules Students in a martial arts school are required to follow the rules of the dojo in order to take classes there. These rules could be as simple as bowing at the front door, checking in for class, and being on time. This teaches them to be respectful of rules that are in place outside the karate school as well, such as following rules at home, at school, or somewhere else like a public library or museum. Doing Things the First Time They Are Asked In addition to following rules, children in a karate program are also expected to follow directions. If they do not follow instructions they will often be asked to sit out for the safety of themselves and others. This teaches children that it is important to do things they first time they are asked, and they will begin to follow instructions better at home and at school too. Responsibility Being on Time to Class Karate programs for kids teach responsibility in several ways. One way is through punctuality. Children are taught that they need to be on time to class (as much as it is in their control). When they arrive their job is to make sure that they are ready to begin class, are on the floor in their spot, and are checked in for class in a timely manner. They learn to be responsible for themselves. Homework assignments If a karate program includes homework assignments in their curriculum then children will learn responsibility for themselves in this way as well. They are taught that completing and turning in their homework assignments on time is their responsibility, not the responsibility of a parent or sibling. If their homework is not completed or handed in on time then they are held responsible. This of course directly correlates to children learning to be more responsible for assignments they receive at home and at school as well. Practicing at Home One other way that kids karate classes teach responsibility is through children practicing at home. They learn that in order to reach their goals, pass their tests, and earn their next karate belt, they need to practice at home. They learn that they are personally responsible for their own progress in the program. Personal Pride Taking Care of Their Body Kids learn how to take care of their body in karate classes. They learn how to prevent injuries through proper stretching before and after class, they learn how to properly exercise their bodies, and they learn that it is important to keep their body clean. As they begin to take better care of themselves, kids also learn to have more pride in themselves. Taking Care of Their Uniform Another way that karate classes teach personal pride is through teaching children to care for their appearance. When they come to class their karate uniform needs to be cleaned, their belt needs to be tied properly, their shirt should be tucked in, their fingernails and toenails trimmed, and if they have long hair it should be up out of their face. This teaches children to take pride in their personal appearance. In Conclusion As children learn the values of respect, responsibility, and personal pride in their karate class they also begin to demonstrate these attributes at home. It is not really that surprising then that kids in martial arts develop better manners and attitudes when they are asked to do things outside of their karate class. The heart of a married man speaking when the woman he thought will give him Joy becomes his source of pain. Read and let's hear your comment. Read thought below: What a life, is this what the life is made of or it is just yours playing a rhythm that is unique to you. In my quest for gain I found pain, in my hope for joy I endured sadness, an eternal search for love I placed in an arena of pure hate. How easy is it to live when what you love most is eternally attached to what you despise most. What do you do when the angel flying around you is truly a demon in its season. Why should you desire to do what was right become the gateway to living a life that is all wrong. When doctrines and norms tell you this is the way but that way has become the shackles and tentacles that tortures you during the day and injures and bleeds you at night. What do you do when all hope seems gone, and you resting place is your source of pain, your abode your biggest price and also your biggest regret. How do you live when all trust has being consumed by false realities and strange spirituality. Why will a bleeding heart become a way of life and embarrassment coupled with shame become the fruit of hard work. If this is the life we have to bear after crossing the point of conjugal bliss, then LIFE IS REALLY NOT FAIR. |
According to Duet14:22-28, there are two types of tithes, the first which is the tithe of every year were a person takes his tithe to feast with his family and bless God, the second which is the tithes of three years which he brings to the gates ( which is probably the church today). why are christians not educated or taught the first one is it probably because it will reduce the finance of the church or is it just greed on the side of the church. please read the bible verse below before some people label me hypocrite . De:14:22: Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. De:14:23: And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always. De:14:24: And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: De:14:25: Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: De:14:26: And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, De:14:27: And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee. De:14:28: At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: De:14:29: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest. |

You know what this is about. But, have you contacted their family to understand the meaning and depth of sorrow? Which family? This is the reason for this reminder. While you feast, in the spirit of this sacred season, sharing love with your political family, especially the billionaire donors, there are, somewhere in the hinterlands of this country or between the borders of the country to Niger Republic, Chad or Cameroon, innocent citizens condemned to a slavery that can only be imagined by us. I’m talking about the innocent school girls abducted at a government secondary school in Borno State. For these girls, Mr. President, December 25 doesn’t mean anything, having been held captive by savages to whom any Christian values and even the values of peace-building Muslims represent a threat they seek to exterminate, a fantasy for which they have killed thousands of your subjects, and which you seem to take for granted at our peril. The question that your loyalists who proudly, actually shamefully, parade themselves as “Jonathanians” always ask is, are the girls of Chibok the only abducted since the wake of this insurgency, in their attempts to discredit the #BringBackOurGirls campaign? The answer to this has been proffered by members of the campaign from the incredibly energetic Mrs Aisha Yesufu whose resilience has been an inspiration for faint-hearted and absenting advocates of the movement like me to the courageous Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, on the back of whose charisma and audacity the campaign rose to the attention of the world, and now continues to dominate the discourse of man’s inhumanity in global politics. read more: http://kakinews.net/?p=215 By Gimba Kakanda |
Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday expressed optimism that Nigerians will make history through the ballot box in the 2015 general elections. In a public letter to thank APC delegates for voting for him at last week’s convention in Lagos, he reaffirmed that if voted president, he will not let Nigerians down. “At the convention, I stood before you as a pensioner, one with no money to offer but my hard labour, my service and commitment,” he stated. “In the exercise of your patriotic duty, you, the delegates and party membership, placed your trust in me. Those of you who attended the convention, be satisfied in the knowledge that you fulfilled your duty. I also want you to be assured that I will not fail your trust. I shall fulfill the duty you have now given me.” He reaffirmed that the Nigerian people deserve the good governance that can only derive from credible elections, and called on them to do their part. “I call on all Nigerians, particularly all political parties, to commit to peaceful campaigning and electioneering. I pledge to do all I can in this regard so that our people may live in renewed peace and harmony even during this season of political competition.” Parts of the letter read: “I thank the National Executive and Leadership of our party, All Progressive Congress, APC, for organizing a convection that will be recorded as one of the most open and transparent in the political history of our nation. You all have worked as a team to build a vibrant progressive political plat form responsive to the needs of our times and of the people. I want to commend you for bringing a democratic and fair process to all APC’s primaries. What you have done demonstrates the vast difference between our party of change and democratic good governance and the PDP’s assembly of undue privilege and presumption. “Most importantly, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the delegates. You came to the convention from every part of our nation to perform a solemn duty for our party, for our nation, and for our future. You performed that duty in a patriotic manner. You conducted yourselves as great symbols of our party. Resolute to work according to your conscience and you did the job well. “I also thank the entire membership of our Progressive Party. You are the true heart and soul of the party. Your support and faith in our mission to change this nation is our inspiration and our strength. Your hopes and aspirations for Nigeria compel us forward. You represent the best of our country. The future you seek where every Nigerian shall be afforded the opportunity to share in the prosperity of this nation and live in dignity, justice and peace shall be realized through our hard work in the coming election. “At the convention, I stood before you as a pensioner, one with no money to offer but my hard labour, my service and commitment. In the exercise of your patriotic duty, you, the delegates and party membership, laced your trust in me. Those of you who attended the convention, be satisfied in the knowledge that you fulfilled your duty. I also want you to be assured that I will not fail your trust. I shall fulfill the duty you have now given me. “Through our convention, you have shown that internal democracy in a Nigerian political party is more than possible. “In two months time, I will call upon you once again to fulfill an even greater challenge. That challenge. That challenge is to show that democracy and good governance throughout all Nigeria is possible. The APC shall do this by winning the next election. You made history at our convention but remember a greater moment awaits us. We shall next make history through the ballot box. “The Nigerian people deserve the good governance that can only derive from credible elections. “As such, the people must also do their part. I call on all Nigerians, particularly all political parties, to commit to peaceful campaigning and electioneering. I pledge to do all I can in this regard so that our people may live in renewed peace and harmony even during this season of political competition.” |
