Mynd44:This is very commendable. In Igbo land, your parents can't even influence anything on that list. Please, experienced igbos should enlighten me on this, thanks. |
Druss:No doubt boss. My point is at that time, Spain could still do without him, Albiol and Arbeloa, unlike the other Real Madrid players like Ramos and Casilas, who were simply the best. |
engrchykae:You've just nailed it, brother. Even, withing those period, players like Xabi Alonso, Arbeloa, Ramos, Albiol and Casilas where in the national team, but I can confidently tell you only Ramos and Casilas were a standout. Alonso, Arbeloa and Albiol were just to represent the 'Madrid quota'. This is not saying the guys were not good and performing then, but they were other players who could have been picked in place of them, but for quota system. |
owobokiri:Well said, man. First off, credit to the Enugu State government, there’s definitely some effort being made, and it’s good to see development happening. Congrats to Ndi Enugu as well. Hopefully, this is just a starting point and things will keep improving. But honestly, I still feel like governors in the South East are not doing enough when it comes to real, long-term infrastructure. Some of these projects we see trending online feel more like publicity than actual impact. Whenever I travel to Enugu and see how narrow most of the roads are, I can’t help but wonder, if real commercial activity picks up here, will these roads even cope? Right now, the roads look fine, even “beautiful,” but that’s mostly because there’s not much pressure on them. Roads designed for keke napep and korope buses, not for a growing city. If we’re being realistic, infrastructure should be built for the future, not just for campaigns. Sometimes, we are quick to criticize projects in Lagos, but if we’re being honest, Lagos government is still the best consistently pushing functional infrastructure at scale. Meanwhile, in the South East, we need to start focusing on projects that will still make sense 20 years from now, not ones that may not even last through a governors second term. My main point is, a lot of roads in the South East are too basic, narrow, limited, and not built to standard for future growth. Yet they get a lot of praise on nairalandfront-page, whereas, more ambitious projects in Lagos get criticized. It’s not about condemning anyone, but we have to be honest, there’s still a lot for improvement. People keep encouraging Igbos to come back home and invest, but then you look at the infrastructure and start to question how realistic that is. In my Enugu, for example, the only wide road is the Enugu–Port Harcourt expressway, which is federal. Most other roads are just normal two-lane or even single-lane roads, with little space for expansion, with unnecessary decorative markings. At the grassroots level, the situation is worse. In my village, there are only two tarred roads, a federal road that passes my village, and one done by a private individual. Not a single bank in the entire Local government. I have to travel to city to get a bank. Just one police station, at the Local governmentsecretariat. Then you start asking yourself, what exactly are we calling development? Again, not to dismiss the efforts being made, they’re appreciated. But there’s a clear need to do more, and do better. Hopefully, the current efforts will evolve into more practical infrastructure that can truly support growth in the long run. |
In no particular order, it has to be one of these icons: 1. Fela 2. Kanu Nwankwo 3. Jay Jay Okocha 4. Ojukwu 5. Sani Abacha 6. I brahim Babangida 7. Wole Soyinka |
brain54:You are right my brother. Just to add to the list, Mangu, as well as the Vom, Riyom axis to Manchok, Fadan Kagoro. The cold there can be extreme too, whether during the rainy season or harmattan. One fascinating thing about the harmattan cold is that, during the day between 11am to 4pm when the sun must have risen, you still feel cold and hazy breeze, but yet the sun is shinning. From 5:30PM everyone is already kitted up, LOL 😆 |
CodeTemplarr:There is. Enugu is the only entry point by road to the North. Through Obolo, Ankpa, Ayingba, up. Or Ubolo to the benue side. |
CodeTemplarr:The post emphasises how many hours of road time stand between state capitals and the federal capital. Since Road is emphasised here, we should also take into cognisance the route; Asaba will easily connect Onitsha —> Enugu —> Lokoja and Abuja, whereas Benin may need to connect Auchi —> Okene —> Lokoja, then Abuja, or the Ondo route, which is longer. |

Chilipepper:Just add a Laptop, and a laptop power bank. That's all... |
Brendaniel:While reading the report, I was expecting to see where an eye witness reported that the guy stabbed himself, I couldn't find it. Yet the police has that as their version of what happened. This ethnic profiling will destroy Nigeria faster than corrupt politicians will. |
Sonofgod1990:In whatever you do in this world, do not have an affair with a married woman. You have had your time, and it has ended. Keep off, for your own good. |

This whole brouhaha is actually pretty straightforward. Back when El-Rufai was still in APC, he was all-in for Tinubu, he even stood up to Buhari over the naira redesign policy, saying he’d take him to court. That wasn’t just noise; the plan seemed clear: support Tinubu through eight years, then pass the baton back to the North, with El-Rufai waiting in the wings to scoop power. But somewhere along the line, things went sour between him and Tinubu. So now, El-Rufai’s making new moves, quietly aligning himself with Obi. If you ask me, he’s going to push with everything he’s got to help Obi win the ADC ticket against Atiku/Amechi, hoping to be picked as his running mate. The idea? Obi finishes four years for the South, then El-Rufai takes it from there for the North. That’s what all the noise is really about. |

There's a whole lot of fraud going on with this NIN and SIM vendors. I once went to retrieve my sim card from MTN office, later that evening I received a text message, thanking me for visiting their outlet, and then listing all my linked MTN phone numbers to my NIN. I discovered an unknown number that I've never used, I was shocked. For the record, I have 3 mtn lines; the very first I've used since 2010, the second, I got at NYSC camp, and the 3rd came with my MTN router. Where is this 4th number coming from? I call this number, and someone picks, so I headed back to MTN office to ask about the particular number, they said I bought and registered it at sososo location, and sososo date, lol ![]() I simply asked for the sim card to be retrieved so I can have control of it. |
pneumaticos:Bro, you were making sense until the part I stroke off. Let's show some respect to Lagos. OP, look into this advice, and make good use of it as much as you can. I'm conversant with the two states in question, and I can tell you that even with the market being in lagos, other aspect of your life/family/health/finance will be sacrificed for it. Rather, continue your exploits in Enugu, a much calmer environment and explore the lagos market digitally. Thanks. |
MrHandsome2013:Hey man, I get where you’re coming from. ₦5 million might not sound like a lot, but trust me, it’s solid, especially if you use it wisely. That said, New Zealand? Bro, that’s a nice dream, but to be honest, ₦5 million won’t get you very far if you're thinking of relocating there legally for work or residency. Visa fees, flights, and proof of funds alone would eat most of it up. I suggest you focus on what you can build here. ₦5 million can do wonders if you're disciplined and clear-headed. You don’t need to go all in, start with half of it. Something skill-based might be your best bet; barbing, shoe making, fashion, repairs... you know what you're good at. Play to your strengths. And about being 40 with no wife or kids, honestly, it’s not the end of the world. But if having a family is something you want, maybe start thinking in that direction. You can even make a baby with your girlfriend based on mutual understanding while pending the marriage plans. Just make sure your finances are in order first, no need to jump in without a steady income. In short, if you ask me, I'll say this is your chance to reset and build something real. Be smart about it, and you’ll be just fine. |
I deeply appreciate this church, firmly grounded in biblical principles. Their unity is truly remarkable, and what I cherish most is their women's fellowship, known in Hausa as Zumunta Mata. These women form my most treasured Christian association, dedicated, compassionate, and vibrant singers their energy is spirit lifting. I believe Catholic churches in northern Nigeria adopted the Zumunta Mata fellowship from ECWA, and they have been thriving with it as well. |

During my NYSC orientation camp in Sagamu back in 2019, I got the chance to watch Remo Stars play a match. These guys were still in the lower league then o. I just dey look them like, "Ah ah, this na Nigerian team?" Their tiki-taka football was so smooth, almost perfect. I even told my guy, "If these guys keep this up, they go win CAF Champions League in two years!" That’s when one random guy beside us just burst my bubble, saying, "Bros, this na Division 2 league o." Honestly, the only teams wey sabi play ball for this country na Remo Stars and the U-17 male team. The rest, including Super Eagles, just dey kick and follow ball like primary school PE session. Abeg, big congratulations to Remo Stars—una too much! This one well deserved die. 👏⚽ |
Northernblood8:Exactly what I thought. I know some guy from the north got admitted into the NA using Anambara as state of origin. He's never been to Anambra or even from Anambra, but that is the slot the God father used to get him in |
Love800:I specified 'Academic' because, when OP wishes to further their education in computing and related fields, the tech training and work experience alone may not be enough for admission. However, with a diploma in Computing, they stand a better chance alongside their work. |
Bro, there are many tech training institutes available, and I recommend you choose a specific niche in tech that interests you and enroll in it. As a teacher, you have the flexibility to complete this training within six months or less. At this point, pursuing a master’s degree or a new UTME may not be the most practical choice. If you’re able to fund those options, you could instead invest in a tech training program, which would likely provide more immediate and relevant benefits. Once you’ve completed your tech training and started earning a better income, you might consider pursuing a diploma at a polytechnic if you feel the need for an academic certificate as a backup. However, it’s worth noting that an academic certificate may not even be necessary given the opportunities in the tech field. |
freeAgent99:I have transacted with Futurefocus as well. Guy doesn't even waste time with his price, I got some Jabra headphones from him earlier this year at the cost of 20k or so. The headphones are still serving as I talk to you, in fact the cost for a new Microsoft recommended jabra headphone is around $200 or so, I didn't know this until a colleague got a remote job, and the company sent him the equipments including the headphone. But this was a headphone I got for 20k from FutureFocus. |
Hafyz23:so, on point. this can be painful aswear, in fact my face then will feel like falling off from my head while jogging in the morning to catch up the bus. Modified I can see many people trying to cajole you, coercing you to get their products. Well I'm not here to spoil anybody's business, but OP, the illness is not a big deal, other than the pain and discomfort, there's nothing to panic. Just visit the hospital, and don't sel-medicate please. Even the most substandard hospital will treat you well. An X-ray maybe required to ascertain the level of things, other than that, its just normal laboratory tests and then simple prescription Don't be deceived |
EzehFx:Actually, I can't remember. I know I did face abi nose X-ray, and the result was fine... I can also remember that I didn't take any injection, just some tabs, antibiotics or so. my advice is, whether you are taking normal cold medicine, just stick with drinking hot water, pain relief, and massaging your face with warm water always, especially the bones around your eye, nose area. |
