Any school that doesn't pay you is a scam. Are you aware that you are underpaid and shortchanged?

So why won't they pay you that change? If they don't, tender your resignation after lockdown because they have failed you and thus don't deserve your services.

As a full-time staff, you are entitled to monthly salary, remember schools were to be on easter vacation before the lockdown which they should have resumed last week or this week.
Are you saying you won't be paid for going on easter break?

Depending on how long this lockdown lasts, say 2 months, it would be regarded as third term vacation. This means that you shouldn't expect third term vacation to be long. It will be 1-3 weeks highest instead of 2 months.

Are you saying that your school doesn't pay you monthly for third term vacationhuh

Organizations pay for 13th month, does your school do that? What of allowances?

I can say that you are being heavily shortchanged and the least they can do is pay you or you move on cos they are not worth your time.
You made good points brother, but unfortunately my school did not pay. All things being equal, once schools resume, I will tender my resignation. It doesn't worth it.

We entered a cab to kuto, called my guy, he directed me to the bus ( a sienna) it needed just 2 Passengers to complete, here I am with my friend, we paid 1.2k each, and the journey began exactly 7:34pm the night of 15th Feb, 2019.
to be continued...
Driver told us we are going to Ijebu Igbo, we were confused, he said Ijebu North is known as Ijebu Igbo. journey continued, we got to Ijebu ode 9:30pm, the bus had problem, we spent 30mins fixing it, we got to somewhere that I don't even know the name, this time it was 11pm, the driver said he's not going again, that he is to go back to Lagos that night. we pleaded with him, while still there another bus carrying corpers passed us, so we started following that one, but due to our own bus can't maintain constant speed, we lost sight of the bus. finally we got to somewhere (I later understood it wasn't far from Ijebu Igbo junction), the driver dropped us there that he can't go further, that where we're going is very dangerous by this time. amongst us all, only one person understands and speaks Yoruba cos he grew up in ibadan. the driver directed that we should trek up and we will get another cab to take us to the nearest LGA Secretariat. by this time, it was around 12:40 or so. while we were trekking, we passed a shrine where the villagers were carrying out some rituals, as we kept trekking in the dark, at each junction we saw sacrifices. finally we saw a taxi, the driver agreed to take us to the INEC office for 200N each, the eight of us squizzed ourselves into the four sitter taxi, the man drove us to the INEC office with warning not to try that kind journey again. we got to the INEC office at exactly 1:10am, another of my friend called me from abeokuta that they are currently on their way to Ijebu with private car. after sorting ourselves out at the INEC office, another problem started. to be continued...

l was a serving corps member during the 2019 general election. On that Friday before the election, the posting came out around 2pm, I serve in abeokuta but was posted to ijebu north in ogun state. ordinarily from abeokuta to ijebu north shouldn't be more than 1½hrs. copers where much, struggling to enter the different buses provided, till 6:30pm no more free buses, corpers still much, shit. I had only 1k with me, I rushed down to the ATMs close by, either it's not dispensing, or the que is something else. one of my colleague I was with was like 'Chelcy, I don tire abeg, am not going again', I pleaded with her to be patient a bit, you know we are in this for the experience, let's push further. I called the other corpers from my lodge, they said they were already at kuto park, that I should be fast. the lady said she's with 5k, I said alright make we go. we entered a cab to kuto, called my guy, he directed me to the bus ( a sienna) it needed just 2 Passengers to complete, here I am with my friend, we paid 1.2k each, and the journey began exactly 7:34pm the night of 15th Feb, 2019.

eight years ago I was running my pre-degree program when the school suddenly announced the post utme screening. 2/3 days notice. before then I have exchanged contacts and 2go username with many of the applicants here on nairaland, which I was helping with informations. due to the short notice, some of them pleaded to send me the money so I can help them get the form, others where begging I get the form that when they come they will pay me. I got the form for 5 different candidates (2 ladies and 3 guys), I will name one of the guys Samson (not real name) arrived that Friday evening from warri, I gave him the form and collected my #1500, he asked to sleep over in my hostel, I declined cos I didn't inform my roommates about that. he said ok that he has a cousin in the school he stays off k, so he went to stay with them. two days later (Sunday), he visited me in the hostel, we chatted, then guy started playing me tape of how he came back from the screening on Saturday and could not find his wallet and that his cousin and friends stole his money and smoked with ladies bla bla bla, that he's broke and have not eaten anything since Saturday night, that I should lend him 5k to go back to warri. I felt really bad and blamed myself not accommodating him. so we walked down to GTBank gwagwalada, I withdrew 7k, gave him 5k and put 2k in my pocket, guy was like Chelcy if you can make it 7k, so I won't be stranded on the way, I just kukuma give am the remaining 2k. Monday night Samson (not real name) called me that he's in warri now, that his mum and sisters are grateful, that first thing 2moro morning I will get my money, that I should send my account no. that was the last time I had from him. all his contacts stop going through, he no longer login to Facebook and 2go. this was around June 2012 or so. fast forward to November when I was about ending my program, Samson logged in to 2go and sent me another story offline, of how EFFC was chasing him up and down, and he has been in hiding all the while, that he has not forgotten about my money. fast forward to 2014, I came down from shuttle bus and saw a familiar face, but he's now looking rough and dirty, I imediately recalled his name, we greeted and I congratulated him for securing admission into the school and wanted to go when Bros started another story that he hasn't eaten, and have been denied writing tests cos of departmental fees, that I should forget about what happened the other time and help him out. to cut the long story short, I told him I wasn't having any money and then went my way.

Northern governors spend a lot on infrastructure than most governors in the South. I speak as a Southerner who lived in the North for a while.

EducationRe: Thomas Goodness Shekwobyalo: JAMB Orders ABU To Offer Girl Medicine by Kalaba(m): 4:13pm On Jan 09, 2020
Kinikini:
My understanding is, ABU will take the two best from each state regardless of the scores and ranking on the overall average performance by all candidates. This implies a candidates with lower score but who comes either first or second from one state gets admitted of a candidate who scores higher but comes third and from another state. This is not merit all and it is simply 100 percent federal character. This is not the way Federal universities in the South manage admission. Again, JAMB claimed ABU was wrong yet did not report them to NUC. Neither was ABU instructed to stop the practice.
This is the practice that destroyed merit in this country and ABU continues on the path at this age, I am short of words.

NYSCRe: How Much Does FG Pay Corper Doctors? by Kalaba(m): 10:45am On Jan 04, 2020
It depends on the region. Corpse doctors in the North receive higher than their counterparts in the west.
Where I served, the breakdown is as follows:
FG alawe = 19,800
PPA alawe = 10,000 (every corper in the PPA)
Call duty alawe = 60,000
The call duty allowance varies for different medical courses, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, MLS, nursing, Physiotherapy, radiography etc...
EducationRe: A Must Read!! Medicine Vs Veterinary Medicine by Kalaba(m): 6:46pm On Jan 02, 2020
The only reason I will advise you to pick up the admission is to broaden your knowledge in basic science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), then help you in scoring higher marks in the next UTME/POST UTME.
Other than the above, I would have advised you ignore the admission and prepare better for next JAMB.
With all due respect to previous commenters of the thread, this is not a matter of which course commands more respect or which has a tougher curriculum, but a matter of employment. Here in Nigeria as a medical doctor (MB,BS), you will surely get a job with a good pay, but as a DVM, you will struggle like other graduates to find the job. Not because your are not a professional, but because there are few individuals who patronize the services of a DVM, most farms will rather have a consultant DVM who visits occasionally, or on request, then employ animal scientists as main staff. But for an MBBS or BDS graduate, hospitals can never employ a pharmacist, nurse, BMLS in place of a doctor, infact, all hospitals must have at least one resident medical officer (a doctor). My opinion though.
