Be aware of the various changes in Unilag PG application so you dont make a mistake

changes applied are like

1. No other course disciplines can apply for Msc Finance except Bsc finance. economics , Accounting and the likes are out.
If you still love Msc finance, the options you have are MBA finance or Pgd Finance.

2. Do you know 3rd class can apply for so many course now in Unilag, so many course that you do not need to do a post graduate diploma.
Please take advantage of this

3. (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering (Full-Time) Now takes 3RD CLASS FROM CHEMICAL ENGINEERING GRADUATES while you need 2:2 min to red chemical engineering if you are from other science or engr related discipline

4. BSC Accounting graduates Can now offer Msc MANAGEMENT in Unilag.
This was not the case in previous sessions, as it cuse to be a big bone of contention between applicants and the department.
This is good news to Bsc Accounting graduates.

Hi slimkiss,

BSc in Agric is not eligible for Msc Mgt, however you can do MBA howbeit it must be Full time.
MBA PT requires 3years exp.

Here is what I advise on courses to fill, please go to your dept and ask the right questions and get the right courses, than entering courses you get here from Nairaland. It laughable, just to think about it.

This is a serious issue - its your career we talking about here.
if you're too busy to get to the dept, then when will you find time for lectures?, better still send someone to go on your behalf.

Am saying this so you dont make a costly mistake you might regret later

a word they say is enough for the wise.
and i will say Wisdom is profitable if applied with common sense.

1. Eligibility for the proposed course of study

Unilag Pg does not allow you to do some courses with your Bsc. If you have HND you are so limited to MBA and 2 other courses. you need to find out if your course is eligible, so you dont get disqualified as I know a lot of people who scored above the cut-off point in last exams but were disqualified.

E,g Bsc Accounting is not allow to read Msc Finance, likewise, Finance has its restrictions. You need to know and be informed adequately so you dont make a mistake.

A lady called me today and asked if she could apply for an engineering msc with her pgd from another school?

I told her Unilag frown at pgd from other school, she was shocked. she then said ok let her use her HND, as she has one. I told her no way. she later said but UI allows such.

I told her i know, but that is Unilag for you. so you st know your eligibility status.
Thee are powerful combos you could do if only you have the right info.

Unlike others, am prospecting to apply for 2017/2018 admission. My challenge is: I am a Computer Science graduate (2.2) UNIBEN, with over 3years of work experience but I intend to pursue an MBA.

what do you think will make a recommended name not to be on the admission list @ kalan

its does happen rarely, but on cases i have seen it its majorly 4 reasons

1. the IT guys made a mistake during posting
2. the cut-off point was raised and you were cut off
3. you dont have the required papers you claimed you have
4. your name was substituted at Pg school by some funny people

and the last one

someone is on your case from the village...lol

recommended results is as sure as 99.9% merit admission

the difference its in duration and fees paid.

The cost of staying at home for one year is equal or more than being in school for same period.

1. did you chose PHD when applying?
2. what is your msc status- cgpa etc

until i hear from you, but i feel, you application didnt meet up with PHD requirement hence they downgraded your application.
If that is the case then they did you a favor.

You didn't mention whether you applied for full time or part time.

Last year, I applied for the same course (Full time) and I scored 64.73. I wasn't recommended, and I didn't make the list.

I guess you applied for Full time. I don't mean to dampen your spirit but your chances of making the list are very slim. However, you could apply for a change of programme type to part time ASAP, if you really want to be admitted; you have a good score for that.

last year was 65. you didnt push it, or change to PT you would have been take for supplementary list.
sometimes we need to get up and move for things to change for us.

that mark was too close to be wasted. Hope lesson learnt.

cut off is 53. yes even if you scored 40.

what i proposed is find who can recommend you. ( a dr , better a Prof)
