Please what is the difference between not recommended and not qualified. Thanks.
Hi Joy,

there are 5 status when results are released:

1. recommended
2. not recommended
3. not qualified
4. step down
5. not set

from these, recommended is 99% sure of admission
not recommended - if above 40% with some strategies can come in via supplementary list
not set will result to any of the 4 status above.

Not qualified is an eligibility problem. The person in question passed the exams and even beats the cut off marks
but he is not eligible for the course - in summary, the person has wasted his money and time.

I wrote in details on all the available status. I also stated what and what you need to do next.

I cover more on my blog

http://careerplusonline.net/unilagPg2016/Unilag-Pg-Result/

hope it helps

your dept has not sent in your results, or the cut off is not ready yet. your best bet go and check your result and status in the dept.

Hi,

Thank you for the good work you are doing helping people make good career choices.

I have a BA in Local Government and Development Studies from ABU Zaria, and also qualified as an ACA. Am considering a masters degree in Finance, Development Finace, or Banking and Finance. I am also currently working in an investment banking firm.

Am having difficulty choosing which one is best for me given my academic background. Especially with MDF in the equation.

Can you advice me please.

Thank you
I guess this will be for next year, however, your profile fits Dev finance MDF as it will blend well with your ACA and your bsc background.
however, I will always ask you do some more profiling on what really you want out of life and your career before you decide.

Hope you make the right choice.

all the best.

8 DAYS TO CLOSE OF FORMS.

This year Unilag Postgraduate programs will close in just 8 days.
I expect you to have applied and if not seek other alternatives.

Those who applied make sure you follow your heart and chose courses that are;

1. relevant to the realities on ground

2. that are selling and will sell in 5-10 years time

3. that can make you go solo - a Masters degree should make you a consultant by default. but you need experience if you dont have any, seek some and plan for your set up in any capacity.

4. courses that you will flourish in and not struggle. A fish dont struggle to swim, it was designed to swim.
likewise, find your passion and stick with it, even if you have to do PGD to get there.

a passionate PGD is better than a struggling MSC.

5. courses that helps the environmental,

6. help people make money or save money,

7. that help people optimize their state of being and keep them fit.

8. courses that teaches what to do - direction,

9. leadership oriented courses and health related courses.

10. what ever you do, make sure you can stand alone or form partnership if the time calls for it.

in times like these, am a MSC holder is not good enough,
you must be able to convert your knowledge into life n wealth creating activities for yourself and others.
That is the purpose of education.

as you prepare for the exams i wish you the best and hope you be diligent in study.

Take care.

Please does anyone have an idea of the likely questions for MSc Public health entrance exam?
M.Sc.PH/MPH Candidates

1. CBT exams
2. How many questions - 60
2. How many hours/time allowed – 50 – 60mins
3. consisting of purely--CLINICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, PUBLIC HEALTH, STATISTICS. community health questions- preventive health care/Mgt, diseases, cures, treatment, Medical STATISTICS, Epidemiology
(past questions shld guide u on this)
4. calculator allowed in the hall
5. Repetition of questions is about 85%
6. What should they read apart from past questions? BASIC PUBLIC HEALTH FOR PRIMARIES,

Advised from current Msc student:
BASIC PUBLIC HEALTH FOR PRIMARIES and statistics, be current with diseases

Area of problem for candidates:
Most MSC students find it very confusing as they have no prior knowledge of these areas.- Medical STATISTICS, Epidemiology is the real issues. as you calculate frequency, variances, median, mode, studies etc

MY ADVISE: READ PAST Q and Answers and basic community health textbooks. read more about Medical STATISTICS, Epidemiology Do topical readings

get more exams formats from my blog

Hi Mr kalan,

Well done for this.

I have a BSc in Psychology and would love to go the Education line.
1. Can I proceed for a Masters in Educational Foundation?

2. Must I do a PGDE first in Education?

Kindly let me know th fees for both FT and PT an how many semesters. Thanks.
Joanno,

I tell anyone who cares to listen that education is the next oiL FIELD, who has an ear let him hear.
i love your first degree, its very important you go into EDU or marketing.

for EDU, u need to do a PGDE first since yu coming from outside edu, with a 3rd class you are good to go.

FT is 12 months and PT is 2 years.

I recently applied for masters in transport planning and mgt and also took delivery of my past questions 3weeks ago. I have gone through the past questions, kindly help me with other areas of concentration, since the past questions alone can not guarantee total success. Thank you as await you response.
FOR YOU, just concentrate on the past questions because its 99% repetition. however i will still send another set. just send me an email in my blog.

You are a graduate of Public Administration.... Honestly, If I were you, the only course I would be thinking about now is Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, IRPM.

Full time and one year duration.

Please, go for it.. You will look for me to thank me later.

Just FORGET Political Science totally.
This advise is Ok. I get your view point.

I will like to add that Your course choice is a personal decision base on your purpose and passion.

it not necessary money driven.
some people have money but just want to advance in knowledge.

Msc Pol science is a brilliant course, depending on whose hands is holding it.

its like football, in some people legs is worth 50 kobo.

in Messi legs its worth billions of dollars

But ask Messi to read Engineering, you will see a complete F9 student

so each course has its place depending on who is handling that certificate.

m advise is find your purpose and passion and blend them.

you wont regret living.

all the best.
