I don't know whether the tracking site has issues or maybe because my passport is ready. I tried tracking my application but it keeps saying no matching application for the numbers. Meanwhile I've always used the same numbers and it shows me the track. The last time I was able to track it which was on Thursday, every stage has been marked to the stage of passport issued.

If you don't make mistakes with numbers, it's probably network issue. Check back later.

i went through total "Do It Yourself (DIY)" Process

My online application date i.e the date i applied online and paid for my passport : May 17, 2022

Capture date: June 10, 2022... I opened file this day and captured this day.. i was there around 12PM but the officer said i came late, 12PM was my appointment time but apparently the time doesn't count, he said since i plan to open file and capture the same day that i should have come early in the morning but he did it for me since all my documents were ready

Documents needed are both photocopy and original documents.. original is just for vetting it will be returned back to you

Capture centre: Osogbo

Collection date: November 29, 2022 but i was told it was ready since September 29, 2022

Total amount spent:#26,000
#25,000 for 32paged passport with 5 years validity, #1,000 for service charge from paystack

i paid no officer a dime and no officer frustrated my life but I underwent every due process. like the capturing date i got there 12PM and left past 5PM, if i had an officer helping i would have called the person and bypass the long wait. that's why I said i underwent every due process there was no way to bypass all those waiting

note: my tracking portal didn't tick the last part and i didn't receive message i just decided to go check up on the passport today and i was told it was ready, so my people don't rely 100% on sms your passport can be ready and you don't receive sms or your passport can be ready and the last part of the tracking isn't ticked


documents i took along for my capturing(photocopy and original)


appointment slip(showing date and time chosen)

application form(the form you filled online)

payment receipt

guarantors form(it will be available for you to print once you have paid) get court stamp on the guarantor's form after your guarantor must have filled the form..you can take the form to the court yourself, it is not compulsory it is the guarantor that takes it there.. i got the stamp for #500

photocopy of guarantors bio-data page from his international passport.. the passport must not have expired

guarantors nin or guarantors drivers license(i used the two though but i don't think using the 2 is compulsory)

your birth certificate (photocopy and original)

your state of origin certificate (photocopy and original)

your own nin(photocopy and original)

you will need to buy a file from the photocopy stand outside


after capturing you will be given a slip, anytime you want to check up on your passport take this slip along, the slip will be used to check your passport status, if your passport is ready they will give you, if it is not ready they will write a code on your slip to tell you the stage it is

E(produced but awaiting lamination,)
NA(record not found ) e.t.c

note: this is explanation for fresh passport not renewal..wish you all the best people.
Osogbo is do it yourself friendly... i have quite a number of people that have gone through this process without paying an extra dime.. i have also joined these people.

Applied for passport in July, captured in August at Osogbo passport office, till now passport not ready whereas those that paid through agents gots theirs within 2 weeks.

Let me shock you. Abẹ́òkúta has been on overdrive to meet up before the year runs out. They are currently in September according to reliable source. They were in August just last week which means they will clear the backlog before the year runs out. Now tell me if someone capture this month and gets it next month, is that FastTrack too?

It was an immigration officer who asked me not to waste money. Some centers are faster like I said. If your passport is delaying, it could be as a result of internal issue which has nothing to do with DIY or FastTrack. Some applications have errors but they won't call you to come for correction until you go. I'm having same challenge too.

Stand to be corrected though.

Some centers do FasTrack as long as it's not DIY.

I've told you not to pay for any FastTrack right now. There's nothing like that for now. Yes some centers do produce faster to others but if any immigration officer tell you there's one FastTrack somewhere, that's a big lie. You may capture ( on the day of biometric) faster to DIY and that's where your money ends but production is the same. Stop wasting money to some FastTrack shii or rather look for states with faster production time and go there.

Oga there is FasTrack in some centers eg Osogbo, if you apply through an officer be very rest assured your passport will be put max 2 weeks after capturing

Maybe they want to have a specific numbers of DIY candidate before they do some mass production

I know of other 3 DIY that captured the same days as I, passport isn't ready. If you know a way they could be call out no problem.

No,she didn’t do DIY. The two ladies I met that day have collected their passports. It wasn’t like they paid for fast-track though they paid circa 50k but that’s not enough reason why their passports were out on time. If you are ready to push this further by petitioning the authority I will give you the details of the said lady to reinforce your claim. Only if you are WILLING to.

I know of people that didn't do DIY also that got their passport a week after capturing, even my nephew and niece got theirs 4 days after capturing.

The ladies you are talking about didn't do DIY so it's normal but if they have gone the DIY way and their passport is ready I would have thought something is wrong somewhere.

As long as it's DIY they know what they are doing, let them keep it till they are ready to release my passport. Stupid people

If I need the passport before the 25th of dec, which state should I go to to process it if i'm just starting today. I want to do renewal.

Do not go the DIY way if you need your passport in a month time.

All of them just dey spend the money up and down 8n the name of campaign
