Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday disagreed with those calling for the restructuring of Nigeria, saying the same social crises bedeviling the country would persist in a restructured country associated with injustice, impunity and bad governance. Obasanjo, who was guest of the Chairman of Lee Engineering and Construction Company Limited, Chief Leemon Ikpea, spoke at the palace of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, in Warri. The ex- President said he sees nothing wrong with a united Nigeria. Reacting to a speech delivered on behalf of the monarch by Chief Brown Mene, during the reception organized in his honour, Obasanjo commended the Itsekiri people for their perseverance and decision to stand against any divisive agitation, despite their complaints against marginalisation and demand for better treatment and equity. He restated his believe that the country’s problems could be resolved through dialogue and negotiations and not through secession. Obasanjo said: “I believe that we can solve all our problems through dialogue, engagement, discussion and conversation. As you rightly remarked, I participated in the civil war and I said never again will I participate in any civil war again in my life. “It was gruesome, it was destructive and it was deadly. The people who are now clamouring for whatever they are clamouring for don’t even know what war means. They don’t. Anybody who has seen the devastation of war, the destruction of war and the mindlessness of war will never want to see a war again and may we never have another war again. “The answer to most of our problems is mindset change and change of mentally. If we need any restructuring, it is the restructuring of our mindset and mentality. How will anybody in his right senses believe separation is the way out? “We have passed that stage. We have problems, there are many ways we can solve them. It is our diversity that makes us a great country. I won’t want a Nigeria where we dance same juju, or wear same attire. Our strength is in our diversity. “Some progress is being made in spite of our difficulties and problems, we need to make greater progress than we have made before. If we do that we’ll have good governance, there’ll be no impunity, everybody will have a sense of belonging and a stake in this project called Nigeria. Nothing is wrong with Nigeria, rather a lot is wrong with Nigerians. We need to correct what is wrong with Nigerians. Some of us have to speak up because if things are wrong and you don’t speak up, then you have become an accomplice. “Dismemberment of Nigeria is not good enough. Harmony and cohesion in Nigeria is what we should substitute for dismemberment. Inequity, injustice or unfairness are not good enough, we should substitute them with equity, fairness, good government and lack of impunity http://thenationonlineng.net/nigeria-needs-mindset-change-not-restructuring-obasanjo/ |

A 34-year-old Singaporean has hit a new record after having sexual intercourse with 57 different women in 24 hours. The man broke a 34-year old record with that feat. The former record holder successfully had sex with 55 women in a 24-hour period in 1983. The record was set in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, as part of an annual event run by a local brothel. A report by Europe Herald says the man, had been training hard for months and was delighted to have broken the previous record, which stood at 55. “I’ve always been a bit of a sex addict, and when I learned that the brothel was having a world record attempt, I knew I had to come and give it a go,” he said. “I took it really seriously and trained for it just like an athlete would prepare for a marathon. In some ways, it’s actually much harder than a lot of professional sports.” The world record attempt began at midnight local time, with officials looking on as the man commenced intercourse with his first partner. “For the world record to count, every woman I slept with had to be different, so the venue had to hire a number of girls from other brothels,” the unnamed man said. By midday, he was ahead of world-record pace, having slept with 29 women. “I started to get a bit of a cramp around then, but luckily, we had a physiotherapist on hand to give me a massage, which helped out,” he told journalists. As part of the conditions attached to the world record, no challenger is allowed to take any prescription medicine to enhance their erection, and the Singaporean man passed a test to reveal his system was clear of such medication. “Natural remedies are permitted, but I won’t disclose what supplements I take,” he said. The record officials were on hand to measure the amount of fluid ejaculated by the man at the end of each session. “It’s not the most sought-after job, but we find it rewarding in our own way,” said one of the judges involved. https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/man-breaks-record-sleeps-with-57-women-in-24-hours.240270/ |
The Niger state Sustainable Development Goals’ office headed by one Alhaji Adamu Ubale Ayawa, is embroiled in a messy financial scandal involving top management staff of the agency. The scandal which began with the update of company registration has gone on for over a year now. On assumption of duty the Director General of the agency set on motion the updating of the list of companies doing contract with the agency from which the state is expected to make about 11 million Naira as revenue generation, but only the sum of 180,000 Naira was remitted to the government coffers, it was on realization of this that the DG hurriedly summoned a meeting of the state coordinator, local government coordinator, accountant, procurement officer and the revenue board’s desk officer, at the meeting, the secretary of the agency Mallam Yusuf Haruna accepted to account for the monies generated which was put at 13 million Naira, for which the agency’s receipt were issued instead of the revenue board’s. The Director general then inaugurated a committee to find out where the monies realized where? The committee headed by one Umar Erena then invited all officers involved including the Secretary, Haruna Yusuf who took responsibility for the money at the initial meeting but until the time of compiling this report such monies where about are not known except to the secretary alone. AWARD OF CONTRACTS: After companies where screened and contracts awarded, a technical committee is mandated to visit the contract sites, assess the project and recommend for payment, but the technical committee were taken aback when they realized that at about 60% completion most contractors were paid without technical report and recommendations and payments were done 100% including retentions. Some of the companies paid include Adex investment Nigeria Limited and Serene Nigeria ltd and so many others. All payments were done in cash instead of to the contractors account. For Instance Adex investment has complained that 1 million Naira has been deducted from his payment. 1st PETITION TO THE DG, COPIED TO THE GOVERNOR: It was based on the above observations, that rules were been misapplied or flaunted to suit personal gain, enrich self and sabotage the state and the people that one Umar Erena who NIGERWATCH NEWSAPAPER investigation show that he is the coordinator of the SDG office, wrote a petition to the DG and copied the Governor through the chief of staff, NIGERWATCH NEWSPAPER reliably gathered that the Governor denied seeing any petition from his chief of staff raising suspicions that the petition was blocked to save the anomalies been communicated to the governor. 2nd PETITION TO THE DG, COPIED TO THE GOVERNOR : While an outcome on the 1st petition was being awaited, it was eternity for an action to be taken another petition was written again to the DG by the same Mr Erena to draw his attention to the anomalies and the financial recklessness that was happening right under his nose, the same petition was copied the Governor through the chief of staff but again the Governor never saw it, this was confirmed when the said Erena sought an informal procedure to see the Governor. CONTENT OF THE PETITION: The petition contained series of allegations against The Director General, among which are unaccounted 11 million Naira from Updating of the Companies’ registration with SDG, unaccounted 2 Nos 30kva and 16 Kva generators inherited from the MDGs and Sure-P, auction of 1 nos 2012 model Hilux vehicle to self after refurbishment using the agency’s funds at an unknown value, taking for personal 1 no brand new kia car for personal use without evidence of payment to the agency, full payment of contractors fund without technical report or assessment and not withholding retention, unethical withdrawals of #169,193,83.36k (one hundred sixty nine million, one hundred and ninety three thousand, eighty three Naira thirty six kobo) between march 2016 to April 2017, another instance that . http://www.nigerwatchnewspaper.com/exclusive-report-massive-fraud-uncovered-in-niger-state-sdgs-office-blow-by-blow-account/ |

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (rtd) says he is yet to visit his hometown, Vimtim, in Mubi North Local Government of Adamawa because he does not have a house to stay. Badeh said this on Monday in Yola in his goodwill message at a Public Forum organized by Adamawa Government to mark this year’s Democracy Day. Badeh, who lauded the transformation recorded in Yola town by the Bindow administration, said that he was unable to go to Mubi to see the much talked about transformation there because he has no where to stay. Badeh said that his house in Mubi had been destroyed by insurgents. “I was not even able to go to Mubi because I have nowhere to stay; everything I have has been destroyed”, Badeh said. While commending governor Bindow for his achievements in transforming the state within the past two years, Badeh criticized Adamawa leaders for not doing much for the state. He observed that Adamawa leaders were most of the time engaged in power tussle instead of working for the state. “Adamawa state from independence has produced people that would have made the state better than Lagos but it is like we (leaders) have never liked ourselves.” Badeh also lauded former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who he said had distinguished himself in bringing development to the state in terms of establishing companies and generating employment Mubi was taken over by insurgents in October 2014 before it was later recaptured by the military |
In April 2017, Igbo traders took to the streets in Yenagoa in an unprecedented protest. Something had rattled them. Three prominent Igbo traders had been murdered in one month. They suspected something more sinister than routine armed robbery and assassination. They put their finger on xenophobia. The police dismissed the insinuation and reassured them of their safety. The murders were unrelated incidents, they said. The traders took the assurance but remained nervous. A month later, a man checked into a hotel room in Yenogoa with his girlfriend. What transpired in that room has not been fleshed out. The girl was rushed to a hospital with stab wounds. Two days after, she died. The boyfriend had sneaked out of the hotel and has not been seen since then. There are versions of his story. But the dead lady was certainly Ijaw, an indigene. The fugitive boyfriend is an Igbo trader. The story that gained traction on the streets of Yenagoa was sharp toothed. It was that an Igbo man had used an Ijaw girl for money-making ritual. What followed was unprecedented. Violent mobs sprouted. Every Igbo man became an actual or potential criminal. The town convulsed with hate and chants of ‘Igbo must go.’ Shops belonging to Igbos in a section of the town were ransacked and burnt. Igbos squirreled into holes. They weren’t entirely shocked. They had warned about rising anti Igbo tensions. The police and the Army were deployed to contain the rampaging youths. Naked violence was brought under control. Wounded Igbos were taken to hospitals. But the animosity and hate that had been lit couldn’t be doused by mere law enforcement. Igbos lived their lives in fear. Ghosts of reprisals lurked their homes and followed them everywhere. Their shops remained shut and locked. They were told, in that section of Yenogoa, to lie low. Leaving their shops locked was in their own interest. The nursing of the tempers of their landlords , the Ijaw indigenes, had to be their immediate priority. They stayed indoors like sheep while the state struggled to negotiate with the indigenes their citizenship rights. Throughout their ordeal none of the prominent Azikiwes of Ijaw descent was heard or seen. None of the surrogates of that political leader who always flaunted his kinship with the Igbos during elections was heard. The political tendency that prides itself as latter-day Igbo ethnic champions was not heard. They could have at least reminded irate Ijaw youths a few political debts. The IPOB didn’t bother to issue a statement even though Yenagoa is within its description of Biafran jurisdiction. The Igbos in Yenagoa were left to genuflect, prostrate, worship Ijaw youths and their anger. I called a friend of mine who is Ijaw from Bayelsa to discuss the incident. He was not embarrassed by the actions of the youths in that town. He proclaimed that Igbos brought armed robbery to Yenagoa. I was speechless. But that explained so much of what was happening on the streets of Yenogoa. He is enlightened but he subscribes to the very jaundiced ideas that have bred this xenophobia. They believe Igbos are settlers that can be sent away from Yenogoa. They believe Igbos are contaminants of Ijaw morality, they are responsible for much of the evil in the town. And there is one he didn’t talk about that flows from envy. They believe that Igbos are usurpers. The corollary is the ungodly idea that some kind of cleansing is required. That is why many didn’t find the action of the youths repugnant. That is a dangerous situation. The economy is passing through a turbulence. There are many jobless youths. In many places in Nigeria, Igbos dominate street commerce. Indigenes welcome them but prosperity can breed envy. When frustrations mount, some of the anger ordinarily meant for the governments will be channeled towards the prosperous settler. He will become the one who has usurped the opportunities that rightly belonged to the indigenes. That is the pattern. His crimes are magnified and labeled affront against the peace and quiet of the indigenes, by his tribe. That is the reason Nigerians are from time to time butchered in South Africa. South Africa has been mismanaged. Joblessness and frustration have taken over the streets. Some of the anger naturally must be projected to immigrants. Nigerians commit crimes like others. But their crimes are not seen as individual transgressions of the criminal code but a corruption of the society, a dilution of morals by a contaminating and eradicable tribe. Such animosity can cake into xenophobia. Then xenophobia seethes like a volcano, splashing lava in its seasons. That is what erupted in Yenagoa Where ethnic hate flows freely ethnic profiling must exist. The sin of one man can be visited on his tribesmen. It is wrong. Sometimes, a fight between a Hausa man and a Yoruba man in Idumota could become a Yoruba versus Hausa world war, in minutes. But it will die quickly once the fire is put out, and everyone moves on. That’s a different thing. Some other times it could linger. If a market or some other privilege is in contention, the animosity can endure. But in all such cases the frictions and flares are localized. There are no widespread systemic complications. That’s the Ketu mile 12 scenario. No one tribe rises to demand the evacuation of the other. The incident in Yenogoa was different. The implicated incident was ordinarily too isolated, too cold to spark such a wide response. That incident alone couldn’t have fed the mob with such vengeance. The anger and violence were deployed with a touch of premeditation. Mere provocation cannot explain the direction of vengeance towards all Igbo in a purely criminal matter being handled by the police. It is interesting that incident could happen in Yenagoa now. The civil war put a wedge between the south south communities and the Igbos. The civil war sowed deep suspicions. Post civil war, Igbos complained of more bitterness and resentment in the hands of the South South communities than the Hausa Fulani, their supposed enemies. Recently, that friction appeared to have abated. Since Saro Wiwa and MOSOP, Igbos have identified with the plight of the Niger delta and supported their agitations for resource control. Igbos want equity. And equity includes resource control and true federalism. When Jonathan became president, Igbos gave him more support than his Niger Delta. So it all looked that the ghosts of the civil war had been banished. It looked like the South South has switched political alliance from the north back to the east. It looked like the shared sense of victimhood was deep and had birthed a brotherhood. Hate against Hausa Fulani has been freely spread around those regions. Once the heart learns hate it can choose other targets. Perhaps Yenagoa is a mere blip on the path of that political alliance. Perhaps, it’s a cautionary reminder of reality. The wide dispersal of Igbos and their integration into all communities in the country is good for national unity. What happened in Yenagoa is inimical to national unity. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/05/igbos-second-class-citizens-yenagoa/ |

Former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu is being detained for alleged abuse of office and money laundering. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) invited the former governor on Tuesday to reply to the allegations against him. Aliyu is said to be responding to issues isolated for him by a “crack team of investigators”. He has been grilled for more than 10 hours by detectives. The ongoing probe of the ex-governor has nothing to do with the petition to the EFCC by the Niger State Government on a N2.9 billion loan obtained in the twilight of his tenure. A source in the anti-graft commission said: “Specifically, the Chief Servant, as he was called in his days as governor, is alleged to have diverted N2 billion Ecological Funds for political purposes. “He is also alleged to have fraudulently sold the state’s stake in North South Power, the holding company for Kainji Dam. About 16 per cent of the state’s 26 per cent shares in the company was sold for N3.6 billion. “Of this, N1.090 billion was paid to the Government House and used for the 2015 elections, where Aliyu’s protégé, Nasko, ran unsuccessfully as governor.” The source gave the details of the EFCC’s investigation into the alleged mismanagement of the state’s Ecological Funds by the ex-governor. The source added: “Three companies were said to have benefited from the heist through contract awards. Among them a company that is owned by a former government official, which allegedly got a contract for which it was paid N847 million. “Of this sum N800m was allegedly given to a former chief of staff who allegedly handed the money to the former governor.” A company owned by a friend to Ibrahim Nasko, younger brother to a former Chief of Staff, Umar Nasko got N487m for a contract. “The money was paid to various Bureau de Change, converted into dollars and handed to the former Chief of Staff( Nasko) who also delivered the money to Babangida Aliyu,” the official said, pleading not to be named because he is not allowed to talk to the press. “Secta Plus however executed the contract it received from the Niger State Government. ”He is detained as there are several issues yet to be covered even though he has made useful statement.” As at press time, it was gathered that the ex-governor had an outstanding case based on a petition by the state government on a last-minute N2.9billon loan obtained by his administration. The state government had said: “The attention of the Niger State Government has been drawn to the continued denial, in the media, by the officials of the past administration that they obtained a loan of N2.9 billion on the eve of their departure. “The government will allow the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to do its job, as the case was already before it. It is important to ask some significant questions on the activities of the past administration. ”For instance, the government in the statement wondered why would the then Secretary to the State Government (SSG) denied collecting N600 million only to later admit that he collected the sum of N612 million for ‘general’ security during the last senatorial bye-election in the state. ”Was the money actually budgeted for, and was it used for the purpose intended? Why were the said funds given to the SSG; was he the Chief Security officer or INEC?” ”It is obvious that these government officials have chosen the hard way rather than the easy one, and the hard way they will get,” the government assured. Also in August 2015, the House of Assembly passed a motion directing Governor Abubakar Bello to probe the administration of Babangida Aliyu. The Assembly’s motion was moved by the member representing Bida II Constituency, Mohammed Haruna. The motion listed 22 activities of the past administration that should be investigated. http://thenationonlineng.net/n5-6b-fraud-efcc-detains-ex-niger-governor-aliyu/ |
Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) Chairman, Professor Itse Sagay (SAN) has said the Senate can not summon him for expressing an opinion. Sagay was reacting to a move by the Senate to summon him over comments he made on the lawmakers. According to him, the Senate lacks the authority to summon a private citizen. Sagay said the lawmakers were embarking on a “futile” exercise that could have “embarrassing consequences”. According to Sagay, he does not fall within the category of government officials that the Senate can summon. He said he only exercised his constitutionally guaranteed right to hold an opinion. Sagay said a government official can be summoned during a amendment of a law that affects the official’s agency, or where the official is directly involved in spending monies appropriated by the National Assembly. The eminent professor of law said any Senator who feels that his reputation was damaged by his comments could seek redress in court. He said the Senate was not a court of law before whom he could be ordered to appear. |

A business man, Taiwo Okunola, has approached Ile Tuntun Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, seeking the dissolution of his four-year-old marriage to his wife, Serifat Okunola and the custody of their only child. Taiwo alleged that his wife had usurped his position as head of the home and now gives orders and directs the affairs of their home. He added that she was always finding fault in all that he did and often times fought him. “My wife has turned me into an object of pity before my family members and a laughing stock before my friends. “She has usurped my position as the head of the home and now dictates how the home should be run. “She has abandoned all the roles expected of a woman in the home and goes out and comes in whenever she likes. She has virtually turned me into a househelp. “My lord, I sweep the floor, dust the furniture and wash the clothes because my wife is not bothered if the house is clean or not. She’s also used to piling up dirty clothes in the room. “She has also abandoned her responsibility of cooking for the home. I cook the food and she sits down and eat. Sometimes after eating and licking her hands and the plate, she will complain that the food was not well cooked or delicious. “Any time we have visitors, she would ask me in their presence to go and prepare food for them, “he told the court. “We once had a misunderstanding and she sent me out of the house along with our only child who was then two years old. “She later came back begging and I forgave her and we moved back home. “It is now a regular thing to beg her before we make love. And when we do, she ensures I don’t enjoy it. “The last time we fought, she sent me out of the house and threatened to kill me if I ever returned. “I’m tired of fighting and playing the role of a housemaid. “Please, separate us and order her to allow me pack my belongings out of her house, “he said. “My husband is nothing but useless, “the defendant told the court. “He’s not fit to be called a man. “He makes so much noise as being the head of the home, but he has shed his responsibility as husband and father. “I single handedly set up a lucrative business for him as a means of livelihood and has been pumping money into it on a regular basis, but this is yielding nothing because he is not just diligent. “I also rented an apartment and he moved in with me. “I pay the rent yearly. He doesn’t know how much the rent is. “Our marriage has produced just a child who he finds difficult to cater for. “I feed and clothe my husband and our child. I’m also responsible for our child’s education, the defendant stated. “I bought a car for the family and registered it in his name as any faithful wife would do. He has been cruising around in this and telling everyone he bought it. “I recently discovered he had been selling my property in the house without my consent. When I asked him, he denied it. “He moved out of the house recently after we had a misunderstanding and went away with the car. “My lord, I’m also ready for divorce. I pray for the custody of our child and want my car returned.” The court president, Chief Agbaje Olasunkanmi, after listening to the two parties, ordered that the case be adjourned till March 14 and directed that they bring their parents or relatives along. Both parties came with their relatives on the stated day and the court president asked if any step had been taken on reconciliation. Both parties insisted on divorce while their relatives also gave their consent. Olasunkanmi, therefore, ruled that their marriage be dissolved and awarded the custody of the child to the defendant. The plaintiff was asked to pay N3, 000 monthly as the child’s feeding allowance and take responsibility for his education and health care. The defendant was ordered to allow the plaintiff pack his belongings from her house. Speaking on the car, Olasunkanmi explained that the customary court only has jurisdiction on the issue of thei |

"During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph Stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, Stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but Stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely naked. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The naked chicken was staggering in pain. Stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and Stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet. Joseph Stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ? Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicament." |

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has rated President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance high in security and the battle against corruption. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, at the weekend, Obasanjo said the president had done his best to develop the country. “Whatever anybody says, President Buhari has not disappointed me from what I know of him,’’ he said. Obasanjo said the president had delivered on his core areas of strength and ability, particularly in the anti-corruption crusade and the war against insurgency. “In my book, I have said that Buhari is not strong on the economy and I did not write this to run him down. “I also used to think that he is not strong in the area of foreign affairs, but I have realised that he has improved very well. “He has actually done his best in the areas where we know him to be strong,” he said. The elder statesman urged Nigerians not to relent in their support for Buhari and not to give up on Nigeria. “Whatever you might see as bad in Nigeria, other societies have gone through the same at some period in their history. “It is not for us to begin to condemn but to begin to join hands together and consider how we can make the best out of our present. “Our present situation is a passing phase and we need to be resilient to ensure that we are not consumed by it. “I will be the first to admit that we have not been where we should have been, but note that we have also been far from where we could have been because it could have been worse. “It is the height of ingratitude for people to say Nigeria has not achieved anything or much as a nation. “The generation before mine fought for Nigeria’s independence; that is great. “My own generation, which is the next, fought to sustain the unity of Nigeria. “Since 1999, Nigeria has enjoyed 18 years of unbroken democracy. “We witnessed in 2007 a transition of power from one individual to another in the same party. “We witnessed in 2015 a transition of power from an individual in the ruling party to another individual in the opposition party. “All these should not be taken for granted,” he said. Obasanjo also decried the call for national conferences or assemblies to negotiate the continued unity of Nigeria. The former president who described such conferences as “distractions”, said he did not bother to read the report of the last one organised by former President Goodluck Jonathan. “ We Nigerians need ourselves and if anyone thinks he does not need another person, good luck to him. “What I see in all those groups trying to break away is that they want more of the national cake. “The fact that you want more of the cake means that it is good and you like it, else you will not be asking for more of it. “I do understand the agitations of the youths in that the increased facilities that now exist as against our own time have not translated to adequate opportunities for them. “But I think that rather than engage in violence, they should think of how to build on the sacrifices of the generations before them,” he said. The elder statesman, who will turn 80 on March 5, said he had no regrets at such an age. He said his hope that Nigeria would still be a great nation was intact. http://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-score-card-obasanjo/ |
The head of Corporate Communications of the SEC, Naif Abdussalam, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the closure was to end unlawful activities of the company against unsuspecting investors. “Investments in the scheme range from a minimum deposit of N10,000 to a maximum deposit of N240,000. “The investment period of the scheme is pegged at a minimum of 30 working days to a maximum period of 10 months with offer of interest rates on short and medium term basis. “The company promises a daily profit of N80 and N2,400 depending on the category of investment,” he said. Abdussalam said the commission’s investigations showed that the company also enticed its customers with payment of bonuses should they convince more investors to invest in the scheme. He said that the commission had established that the company’s activities also constituted a breach of the Investment and Securities Act (ISA), 2007. “Furthermore it was discovered that contrary to their supposed existence in over 20 locations across the country, the company only has functional offices in Asaba, Kano and Abuja.
