Islam for Muslims / Menace Of Wahhabism? by Karbala: 10:29am On Jun 08, 2012
At the beginning of the eighteenth century, a region of Arabia called Najd saw the emergence of Wahhabism,a puritanical and literalist sect which considered Islam "degenerated," and proposed a "reform" to be imposed on Muslims by means of coercion, terrorism and indiscriminate massacres.

One of the goals or the Wahhabi movement was to reduce Islam to a mere formalism, bereft on any spiritual depth. The alliance of the Wahhabis, originally a gang of semi-illiterate desert marauders, with the British Empire in its war against the Ottoman Sultanate, led to the creation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the appointment of the descendants of those marauders, the royal House of Sa'ud.

The belief of the Wahhabis' official religion of the Saudi Kingdom was so primitive and narrow-minded that it did not spread outside of Arabia.

The situation started to change with the discovery of oil, which made the House of Sa'ud one of the richest families of the world and a financial power in the worldwide economy.

Saudis massively invested in Wahhabi propaganda, first in the Arab world, then in the Indian subcontinent , and finally, in the West.

Paradoxically, the existence of the Soviet Union prevented the spread of Wahhabism to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan, to the point that in the Arab world of today, the influence of Wahhabism and modernism has considerably spread while Islam in the Soviet Muslim Republic survives in its pristine form , but sadly its catching up.

Wahhabism is literalist, legalistic, rejects every form of Sufism, and reduces the practice of religion to the passive assimilation and mechanical application of rules.

Nevertheless, in the eyes of peace loving muslims especially Indian muslims it has a main defect: it is not "Islam" but rather an anthropomorphic cult which started three hundred years ago,and was rejected by the most eminent Muslim theologians. But pains my heart when I see them this day, gaining ground in my beautiful nation.

Norway mass killer demands medal at court hearing
By BJOERN H. AMLAND | Associated Press – 34 mins ago.

OSLO, Norway (AP) — The right-wing extremist who has admitted killing 77 people in Norway's worst peacetime massacre told a court Monday that he deserves a medal of honor for the bloodshed and demanded to be set free.

Anders Behring Breivik smirked as he was led in to the Oslo district court, handcuffed and dressed in a dark suit, for his last scheduled detention hearing before the trial starts in April. He stretched out his arms in what his lawyer Geir Lippestad called "some kind of right-wing extremist greeting."

Reading from prepared remarks, the 32-year-old Norwegian told the court that the July 22 massacre — carried out with a bomb, a rifle and a handgun — was a strike against "traitors" who he said are embracing immigration to promote "an Islamic colonization of Norway."

Like in previous hearings, Breivik admitted to setting off the bomb outside the government headquarters in Oslo and opening fire at a Labor Party youth camp on Utoya island, outside the capital. But he again denied criminal responsibility for the deaths and rejected the authority of the court.

Some 100 survivors and victims' relatives watched in disbelief as Breivik asked to be released and then told the judge he should receive a military honor for the attacks. Many survivors had expressed concern that Breivik will use court hearings to draw attention to his extremist views.

"It wasn't good that he got to say what he wanted to say," said Amel Baltic, a 16-year-old survivor of the Utoya massacre. "It made me irritated."

Judge Wenche Gjelsten ordered Breivik to remain in custody until the trial begins on April 16. Breivik faces terror charges that carry up to 21 years in prison, but if he's deemed to be gravely mentally ill he will be sent to psychiatric care.

A psychiatric evaluation found Breivik criminally insane, but a second evaluation was ordered amid criticism of that diagnosis. Breivik has refused to cooperate with psychiatrists in the second review.

Unlike the only previous public hearing, Breivik this time agreed to let himself be photographed before the proceedings began. Lippestad, the defense lawyer, suggested Breivik's remarks Monday foreshadowed what's to come in his trial.

"It's a preparation for the trial. Much of this case is about his personality," Lippestad said.

Breivik claims he's a commander of a militant organization aiming to overthrow European governments and replace them with "patriotic" regimes that would deport Muslim immigrants.

In a 1,500-page manifesto posted online just before the attacks, Breivik described this supposed network as a modern-day version of the "Knights Templar" order of medieval crusaders. The document contained details on initiation rites, oaths and a "clenched fist salute" symbolizing "strength, honor and defiance against the Marxist tyrants of Europe."

Police have not found any trace of the group and say Breivik carried out the attacks on his own.

Since investigations began, about 1,500 people have been questioned, including survivors, police said Monday.

Law enforcement agencies in other countries have also assisted, including in the United States, where authorities interviewed Breivik's sister in Los Angeles.

Police prosecutor Christian Hatlo told The Associated Press that a request for further assistance was recently sent to the U.S. Department of Justice. He said investigators were looking for information on Breivik's "travels and financing."

Al-Kulayni,the prominent Shia scholar, mentioned in his introduction to his book the following:

"Brother, may God lead you to the right road. You ought to know that it is impossible for anyone to distinguish the truth from the untruth when Muslim scholars disagree upon statements attributed to the Imams. There is only one way to separate the true from the untrue reports, through the standard which was

declared by the Imam:
"'Test the various reports by the Book of God; whatever agrees with it take it, whatever disagrees with it reject it.
"'Take what is agreed upon (by scholars). Certainly the universally accepted should not be doubted. '"

and let us see what the Quran says about itself:

"Verily, I revealed the Quran and verily I will preserve it."[Noble Quran 15:9]

"Verily this Qur'an guides to what is most upright and give glad tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that for them is a great reward. (9) And as for those who do not believe in the hereafter, we have prepared for them a painful punishment".(Holy Quran 17:10)

"Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses are not concealed from Us. So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you will; indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message after it has come to them, And indeed, it is a mighty Book.Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy".(Holy Quran 40:40-42)

More on the views of Imam Ali (as) on the Holy Quran:

“Then, Allah sent to him the Book as a light whose flames cannot be extinguished, a lamp whose gleam does not die, a sea whose depth cannot be sounded, a way whose direction does not mislead, a ray whose light does not darken, a separator (of good from evil) whose arguments do not weaken, a clarifier whose foundations cannot be dismantled, a cure which leaves no apprehension for disease, an honour whose supporters are not defeated, and a truth whose helpers are not abandoned. Therefore, it is the mine of belief and its centre, the source of knowledge and its oceans, the plantation of justice and its pools, the foundation stone of Islam and its construction, the valleys of truth and its plains, an ocean which those who draw water cannot empty, springs which those who draw water cannot dry up, a watering place which those who come to take water cannot exhaust, a staging place in moving towards which travellers do not get lost, signs which no treader fails to see and a highland which those who approach it cannot surpass it.
Allah has made it a quencher of the thirst of the learned, a bloom for the hearts of religious jurists, a highway for the ways of the righteous, a cure after which there is no ailment, an effulgence with which there is no darkness, a rope whose grip is strong, a stronghold whose top is invulnerable, an honour for him who loves it, a peace for him who enters it, a guidance for him who follows it, an excuse for him who adopts it, an argument for him who argues with it, a witness for him who quarrels with it, a success for him who argues with it, a carrier of burden for him who seeks the way, a shield for him who arms himself (against misguidance), a knowledge for him who listens carefully, worthy story for him who relates it and a final verdict of him who passes judgements.” (Nahjul balagha Sermon 198)

You should also know that no one will need anything after (guidance from) the Qur'an and no one will be free from want before (guidance from) the Qur'an. Therefore, seek cure from it for your ailments and seek its assistance in your distresses. It contains a cure for the biggest diseases, namely unbelief, hypocrisy, revolt and misguidance. Pray to Allah through it and turn to Allah with its love. Do not ask the people through it. There is nothing like it through which the people should turn to Allah, the Sublime.

Know that it is an interceder and its intercession will be accepted. It is a speaker who is testified. For whoever the Qur'an intercedes on the Day of Judgment, its intercession for him would be accepted. He about whom the Qur'an speaks ill on the Day of Judgement shall testify to it. On the Day of Judgement an announcer will announce, "Beware. every sower of a crop is in distress except the sowers of the Qur'an." Therefore, you should be among the sowers of the Qur'an and its followers. Make it your guide towards Allah.
Seek its advice for yourselves, do not trust your views against it. and regard your desires in the matter of the Qur'an as deceitful.”

Religion / Conversion To Christianity: A Missionary Deception by Karbala: 11:02pm On Jan 16, 2012
Assalamu-alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakatuhu:

Introduction

The Christian missionary efforts in preaching the Gospel are hardly worthy of emulation. Ever since the appearance of Islam on the world stage and the first sighting of tribes (or natives) of the New World, the crusade to convert the whole world to Christianity was accompanied by the unholy means of deception, exploitation and persecution.

The exploitation of the indigenous tribal people by the resource-hungry invaders called the Christian missionaries, has amounted to the persecution of the most ruthless and relentless kind, including the theft of the tribal land, the stripping of their forest in the name of 'development', the destruction of their cultures, and the wholesale enslavement of their populace. This enslavement continues without abatement by the evangelizing ambassadors of Christianity - the missionaries.

In this document, we will be concerned with the deceptive tactics and exploitation used by the Christian missionaries when it came to preaching the 'gospel' to Muslims or the indigenous people. The detailed study of the issues like persecution of the indigenous tribal people can be found in specialized books on cultural anthropology which the reader can refer to in the libraries.

Muslim & The Christian Missionary

Before reading the below quotes, let have a look at the lecture by Shaykh Salmân al-Awdah talking about Christian Missionaries Sweeping the Islamic World. This lecture by the Shaykh deals with various deceptive tactics used by the Christian missionaries to convert unsuspecting and ignorant Muslims to Christianity. The deceptive tactics of the missionaries include misquoting of the Islamic sources, building churches that look similar to mosques, doing Christian ceremonies on Fridays purposefully and not on Sundays, and use of natural disasters to forcefully convert poor and helpless.

According to the Christian missionaries, this page is a:

(The Islamic Paranoia Page) If only we would have as much impact as he believes Christians have.

In order to verify who exactly is paranoid, we refer to a book called Islam And Christian Witness by Martin Goldsmith, who lectures at All Nations Christian College. This book was given to us a few years ago. It was published by OM Publishing, Carlisle, UK. In a gist, this book is all about how to convert Muslims to Christianity in the Islamic world using the deceptive ways exactly as mentioned by Shaykh Salmân al-Awdah in his lecture.

Without beating around the bush let us quote a few paragraphs from the chapter "How To Witness". Let us start with the Prayer.

Orthodox Muslims place great emphasis on the importance of prayer timings. If they are strict in their religion, they will put other things aside at the prayer times in order to pray. It is vital to realize that the Christian also believes in it and practices it. In some cases, it may even be helpful if we can join the Muslim in prayer, so that they actually hear the Christian communing with God through Jesus Christ.

Muslims pray regularly five times a day at the set times of prayer, to which they are summoned by the call to the prayer. This call is always made by human voice, and never with the use of musical instruments or bells.[1]

And later on the author states:

, and there is no need to export the use of church bells, which may be easily exchanged for a human voice calling believers to pray worship and pray.[2]

The high point of the Muslim prayer is the act of prostration in which the Muslim kneels before God with forehead bowed to ground. In the Bible too we have accounts of people who demonstrated their worship and awe at the presence of God in similar fashion. Should Christian prayer in a Muslim society practise such agreed ritual movement?[3]

The Church in a Muslim context must ask whether it is helpful for prayer to be made in the symbolic direction of Jerusalem. Muslims must pray towards Mecca; Daniel directed his prayers with his face towards Jerusalem; should the Muslim convert follow the example of Daniel?[4]

There are a few interesting ideas about the way a Mosque should be modeled

Should the actual building of the Church be more akin to a Mosque? Are the usual European fashions a necessity? Do we need seats in the Church? Must the focal point be a table or a pulpit? Do we need a special lectern?[5]

In the conclusion of the chapter "The Muslim Convert" the author states:

In coming years we may see new Christian Churches which are outwardly as closely as akin to Muslim Mosques as the early Christians were to their Jewish Synagogue background.[6]

And how to deceptively go for Hajj and do Sacrifice

Some of the festivals are based on the annual pilgrimage to Mecca with its particular background and theological implications. Some aspects may be celebrated with an eye to their fulfillment in Christ, but many Christians would not feel happy to endorse all that the pilgrimage stands for Islam.[7]

And a few thoughts about the month of Ramadan itself

And then comes the question of the fast month. In connection with prayer, fasting is encouraged in the New Testament. Jesus gives teaching on a snare of pride in fasting and the dangers of sanctimonious piety, but true fasting has a significant place in Christian devotion. Is it permissible to introduce a fast month along Muslim lines into a Christian Church? Of course, it must be voluntary and practised in conjunction with prayer.[8]

In some strongly Muslim countries conversion from Islam into another faith is tantamount to suicide. Those who come to faith in Jesus Christ must therefore make a radical decision. They can make an open confession of Jesus as the Lord and Saviour, be baptised and then probably die the death of a martyr. Otherwise they may perhaps be able to flee the country, find anonymity in Europe and North America and there develop a true Christian life. But they then also loose contact with their own people and have no testimony to them. This second alternative is generally open to the wealthier and more educated. Many ordinary people eschew the first alternative and cannot afford the second. They opt for a third possibility, namely, to continue the outward forms of Islam while adding in their hearts a new spiritual dimension based on a person and work of Jesus Christ.[9]

And with regards to wolf dressed in sheep's skin, the author states

After an initial period, however, they may develop sufficient spiritual maturity to enjoy having their Christian faith dressed in Islamic cultural garb.[10]

In other words, the ideas of deception are in fact coming straight from the horse's mouth and then put into practice by his fellow-men. The Shaykh did not invent the statements and neither did other Muslims.

We should also emphasize that this deception was not an "original" idea of Martin Goldsmith. Arthur French, a Christian missionary, wrote about the methodology of "Christianizing" Muslims in India some 80 years ago using a similar deception. He said:

If we are insistant in urging the claims of "specialized" Missions, let it be remembered that until Arabic is conquered Islam remains. Islam is wedded to Arabic in indissoluble bonds till death do them apart, either the death of Arabic or the death of Islam. Arabic must be Christianised, if we were to win Islam. Islam must be won, if we were to win India.

Christian Arabic Prayers, Hymns, Liturgies, Lectionaries; the Five Hours of Prayers; the Call to Prayer; Churches furnished more in Mosque-fashion and erected in Sarcen style; these are the methods which Missions to Moslems need. We have to take over from Islam all that we can with the least possible dislocation.[11]

Dr. cAbdullâh Hâkim Quick writing in the magazine The Message on his recent trip to East Africa says:

I was shocked when I returned from East Africa in May to find Muslim families in a desperate struggle to save their children from leaving their homes and their faith! In Kenya, the Pope and the forces of Christianity vowed last year to change Africa into a Christian continent by the year 2000 CE. Crosses with red fluorescent lighting are being raised on the skyline of Mombasa, Kenya and other traditionally Islamic cities. In Mirti (Northeastern Kenya), Muslim youth are being called to a Christian worship center called "Makkah Center," which is shaped like a masjid, five times a day.

An example of open deception on the WWW can be found here where one can find "suggestions" for using the Qur'ân in the Muslim Convert Church. Interestingly, Christian missionaries talk about being guided by Holy Spirit. Whether it is the God or Devil of Deception is anybody's conclusion!

"The Panare Killed Jesus Christ, Because They Were Wicked"

To misrepresent another religion for fear of people converting is one thing, but to do so to one's own in the hope of gaining converts is another. Christian missionaries, unable to convince the Panare Indians of the Colorado valley to accept faith in Jesus Christ took to compiling books for the natives to read in their mother tongue, this was accomplished during 1975 and 1976.[12] The compiling of the books presented certain linguistic problems, solved in the end in a very cunning fashion.

The problems arose because there are no equivalents in Panare for many words held as basic to the concept of the Christian religion. There are none, for example, for sin, guilt, punishment and redemption. Since Panare tribe lived as an isolated society in the forests for thousands of years, it is impossible to have famines, plagues were unrecorded and the wars that shaped our history were reduced to a ceremonial skirmish. The biblical dramas, therefore, were hardly more than shadow plays.[13]

It was soon realized, however, that before the Indians could be made to accept repentance and salvation - both equally obscure concepts to the Panare - one had to give them something to feel guilty about. The missionaries came up with an ingenious, yet underhand, solution - translate and re-edit the New Testament in such a way so as to implicate the Panare Indians in Jesus' death! Gone from the Bible were Judas's betrayal, the Romans, the trial, and Pontius Pilate. The text now read at the appropriate places:

The Panare killed Jesus Christ

because they were wicked.

Let's kill Jesus Christ, said the Panare.

The Panare seized Jesus Christ.

The Panare killed in this way.

The laid a cross on the ground.

They fastened his hands and his feet

against the wooden beams, with nails.

They raised him straight up, nailed.

The man died like that, nailed.

Thus the Panare killed Jesus Christ[14]

It is clear that if this could create the feelings of guilt, nothing could. Now there was a talk of God's vengeance for the dreadful deed. The re-edited New Testament continued:

God will burn you all,

burn all the animals, burn also the earth,

the heavens, absolutely everything.

He will burn also the Panare themselves.

God will exterminate the Panare by throwing them on the fire.

It is a huge fire.

I am going to hurl the Panare into the fire, said God.

,

God is good.

'Do you want to be roasted in the fire?' asks God.

'Do you have something to pay me with so that I won't roast you in the fire?

What is it you're going to pay me?'[15]

One does not have to think hard in order to realize what payment was being demanded; namely, unquestioning submission to the missionaries' demands, the abandonment of their traditional lives and their customs, and the acceptance of Christianity. The Indians were terrified. The first Indian woman came forward and said:

", I don't want to burn in the big fire. I love Jesus."

, Here we had sat for almost a year teaching one believer and nothing else happening and all of a sudden WOW![16]

It seems it was a common practice among the Christian missionaries to accuse Indians of killing the Christ.

David Stoll, writing in SIL in Peru, describes a missionary teacher calling his Amuesha congregations Jews 'because they did not have faith and were killing Jesus'.[17]

From the present discussion, it would seem that the Bible will be 'translated' for the benefit of winning the souls even if it requires gross deception and misrepresentation of the scripture itself.

In the Gospel according to John, chapter six, Jesus(P) is reported to have said: "I am the bread of life." In the time of Jesus(P) at least, and probably even today in the Middle East, bread is the "staple of life", it is essential and it is available even to the poor. It is a 'relatively cheap' food. If the Bible translators would translate something like that into the tribal languages of Papua New Guinea literally, what would these people think? In these countries, 'bread' is something only the rich can afford. If they read "I am the bread of life," they would immediately think "Oh, Jesus is not for me, I can't afford to become a Christian, " and this would mean a complete miscommunication. In Papua New Guinea the staple food is sweet-potato. And therefore this verse would be best translated by the missionary standards as "I am the sweet-potato of life" as well as communion/eucharist is celebrated with sweet-potato instead of bread. This way the meaning would be "preserved" and convey what Jesus(P) "meant" albeit the original text is re-edited. It is available for all, it is life essential, since for those people a meal without sweet-potato is not a complete meal. Perhaps for the Chinese, Jesus(P) would be the "rice of life". And to win the souls of some Russian drunks, a translation of Jesus(P) being the "vodka of life" would be perfect!

This explains many of the problems within Christianity; they can't make up their mind on the translation of their scripture as much as the actual extent of their scripture. And above all the deception of any kind is exercised to win converts.

Weapons & Wine: A Case Of Tahiti

In 1795 the London Missionary Society was formed, its immediate attention focused upon the Pacific; two years later a convict ship bound for Australia put the first missionaries ashore on Tahiti. It was four years before any of them learned enough of the local language to be able to preach a sermon to a puzzled though sympathetic audience. The Tahitians built houses for them, fed them, and provided them with servants galore, but after seven years not a single convert to Christianity had been gained. The missionaries opted for a more brutal tactic and gained the upper hand by helping to reduce the local chief called Pomare to an alcoholic and then offered him backing in a war against other islands chiefs by supplying firearms (the enemy having only wooden clubs to defend themselves). But Pomare would be backed in a war against the other island chiefs on the understanding that:

his victory would be followed by enforced conversion. Since Pomare was supplied with firearms to be used against its opponents' clubs, victory was certain. 'The whole nation', Orsmond wrote, 'was converted in a day.'[18]

With their power base firmly established in Tahiti, the missionaries moved swiftly to the outer islands. The methods they employed were as before. A local chieftain would be baptised, crowned king, introduced to large quantities of alcohol and left to the work of converting his own people. Chieftains who put up any form of opposition were quickly shown the might of the missionary forces. Where no resistance was found, a native teacher supported by a half dozen missionary police would take over an island within a week.[19] What a way to love your neighbour!

Conclusion

The present discussion has dealt with in the deceptive tactics used by the Christian missionaries to gain converts. The deceptive tactics would involve imitation of the religious ideas of other faiths, gross mistranslation of the Bible even if it involves tampering with the 'word' of God and to persecute people to win the souls for Jesus(P). Commenting on the book of Norman Lewis, The Missionaries: God Against The Indians, the famous writer Graham Greene said:

In the recent years we have found it easy to laugh at the American television evangelists, but until I read Mr. Lewis's remarkable book I had no idea of the danger to human life which they represent.[20]

And Allah knows best!

REFUTATION TO THE ALLEGATION THAT AL-MASOUDI WAS A SHIA HISTORIAN

By calling Masudi a Shia, the Nasibi author is obviously is trying to suggest that he belonged to the Imamiyah or Shia Astha Ashari faith and hence his work is reliable for us, which is a blatant lie. Only a Nasibi can adhere to the logic to suggest that an individual that praises Ahl’ul bayt [as] is Shia (Imamiyah/Rafidhi). It might be difficult for a Nasibi (who in previous writings had extolled his Imam Yazeed) to understand this but actual Sunnis also have love for Imam Ali [as]. Al Masudi is a recognized Mutazili / Sunni scholar as recorded by Imam Dahabi (Siar alam alnubala, v15 p569) and even if his faith is criticized by some segments of Nawasib, the work advanced by Masudi in the field of Islamic History is happily accepted by the Ahle Sunnah, this is an established fact, Abu Sulaiman is either ignorant or intentionally lying, judging from his exploits in previous articles the latter seems to be the more stronger option!

Would Imams of Ahle Sunnah, past and present be heaping praise on a Rafidhi writer? One of the beloved scholars of Deobandies Allamah Shibli Numani states clearly in Al-Faruq (English translation) Volume 1 page 9 that:

“…Masudi (died 386 Hijri) is the ‘Father of History’. Islam has not produced a historian equal to him in comprehensive information and width of thought…Has all his historical works been extant, all other attempts in this direction would have been regarded as superfluous, but it is a pity that owing to the corrupted taste of the Muslim nations most of his books are not extant now. Occidental research has, after considerable scrutiny and labor, been able to discover two of his books, namely Muruj-ud-Dhahab and Kitab al Tanbih wal-Ashraf. The former has been printed in Egypt”.
Al-Faruq (English translation) Volume 1 page 9

As for those Sunnies who call Al-Masudi a Shia, it should be noted that it is said in terms of preferring Ali [as] over Uthman only and nothing else, as recorded by Sunni scholar Ahmad Ibn al-Sidiq in his book Fath al-Malik al-Ali, page 143:

Nay they attributed Darqutni to Shiasm although he is far from it, just because he memorized the poems of Hemayri. Nay they talked about Shafiyee and attributed him to Shiasm just because he agreed with the Shia in some issues in which they (Shias) were right and didn’t innovate in it such as pronouncing Bismilah loudly, performing Qunoot during morning prayer, wearing ring in the right hand and his inclination towards Ahlulbayt, he may Allah be pleased with him pointed to that in his famous poems. And they called al-Masudi weak and attributed him to Shiasm just because of his statement in Muruj al-Dahab: ‘The things which the companions of Allah's Messenger deserved virtue because it is their preceding to (bring) Iman, migration, support to Allah's messenger, nearness to Him, conviction and sacrifices by their souls for Him, their knowledge about Quran, Jihad for the sake of Allah, godliness, asceticism, judgment, chastity, knowledge and all that Ali had the biggest share of, beside his (Ali’s) distinction by special virtues such as brotherhood, inclining towards Him [s], status (of Aaron)’

Even if for arguments sake we were to accept that Imam Hasan [as] and Imam Hussain [as] were in Uthman’s quarters, then we would argue that their presence would have only been to protect women and children inside, not Uthman. It is a religious duty to ensure that women and children are not harmed. If Imam ‘Ali [as] mediated to ensure that food and water was sent to Uthman’s house, it was to ensure the well being of the women and children inside, what would be the harm in sending water and food for the children?

Moslems and their anti-western attitude. there is nothing wrong with usa intervening. usa enterned korea, where is south korea now? usa has bases and fleets in uae, qatar, where are they now? Abeg, let usa enter, only moslems will complain, after china does fake things. genuine things full US. 2015 here i come.
and they also entered somalia, afghanistan, iraq and vietnam.

The asians are technologically sound so i dont what is fascinating about south korea.the koreans, same people with one language just ended up being divided into north and south because of some stu.pid cold war between the americans and soviets.till today america has troops in south korea using the fear factor of north korea.aside, the south's economy is so tied to the american economy that when america sneezes the koreans catch cold.

In terms of soveignty, the south is no where.they are losing their culture and religion.also, whatever crime a US soldier commits against koreans he cant be brought to justice.it was either in japan or south korea (both countries with US military bases) that an american soldier ra.ped a female and nothing was done.

In those arab countries you cited too the situation is similar.worse, they are ruled by tyrannical dictators who happen to be pro-western and puppets.also they lack behind technologically and their economies are also tied.if the US sells saudi arabia weapons, the US always ensures that those weapons are inferior to israel's standard.

My friend, your words remind me of the african monarchs who participated in the slave trade, and sold their people for miserable returns.what you are calling for is at least modern slavery.

What is even sad is the obvious fact you have not read the bible.otherwise you wont have missed the violence and terror there and particular statements and actions of Jesus himself in the new testament that dont go well with your marketing tactics to portray him as absolute 'prince of peace' who demands no justice.

Its no secret that covenant uni. is an institution based on christian principles and in order for these principles top be met student coming in must be christian( u agree to abide by these principles). as for the parents involved they where actually running from conventional schools for security reasons.

we (NLders) have been busy bashing the topic however we fail to see the implication for covenant [university in the long run, Imagine 3 years from now when these pple grow wings and demanding that they be allowed
to practice their religion inside of the school campus and all the trouble it will bring besides there are schools (secure) out there that don't care about your religion as long as pay and meet up with their demands.

What about companies where u are required to be a christian b4 u r employed.

this is a school where the student decides which one to attend and not a company where employees choose who to employ and pay.the students pay the school for services and not the school paying students for attendance.so your comparison is wrong!

a school being christian or muslim does not mean they should not allow others to attend.also, even if members of a different faith want to practice their religion by themselves, why would that bother you?are they telling you to include islamic knowledge in the curriculum? leave people the freedom to practice what they like privately.

WHAT IF THE SCHOOL AUTHORITY HAVE INTELLIGENCE REPORTS LINKING THE STUDENT TO A TERRORRIST GROUP TRYING TO INFILTERATE THE CAMPUS AND THEY CHOOSE NOT TO TELL US ? IN AS MUCH AS A PENNY FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WAS NOT USED IN FUNDING THE SCHOOL, THEY DECIDE NOT TO ADMIT BLACK PEOPLE. IT IS NOBODY'S BUSINESS AND IF YOU A SEASONED LAWYER, TAKE THEM TO COURT AND STOP RANTING ON NAIRALAND.

you must be drunk with something very strong.Ijaiye is not in the northern part of nigeria.it is a place in yoruba land.the boy is a yoruba muslim and not hausa from northern nigeria.stop wasting people's time with senseless points.if there was any such intelligence, the university should have handed over the information to the police and get the boy and his parents arrested.it does not make sense denying him admission because he is muslim.

I AM AMAZED THE WAY WE REASON HERE. THIS IS A SCHOOL THAT CAME ON BOARD RECENTLY AND HAS BEING ADJUDGED THE BEST PRIVATE UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA FOR 2 CONSECUTIVE YEARS. IF THIS IS HOW THAT WAS ACHIEVED, SO BE IT.

I REPEAT, IT IS NOT COMPULSORY YOU LOOK FOR ADMISSION BY FORCE IN A SCHOOL. THE INTEGRITY OF THE BOY IN QUESTION IS QUESTIONABLE. WHY LIE MUSLIM/ANGLICAN IN YOUR RELIGION ?

COVENANT HAS GRADUATED MUSLIM STUDENTS AND STILL HAVE MORE. NOBODY CAN FORCE THE UNIVERSITY TO GRANT ANYBODY AN ADMISSION, NO MATTER THE LEVEL OF RANT.

THE SCHOOL IS 100% FUNDED BY A CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION NOT AN ISLAMIC GROUP OR GOVERNMENT, SO DON'T CONFUSE THIS WITH ISLAMIC BANKING. WHAT THEY SAID IS THAT ISLAMIC BANKING SHOULD NOT BE FUNDED BY NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT. LET MUSLIMS FUND THEIR BANK. IT IS AS SIMPLE AS ABC NOBODY IS OPPOSING THE BANK.

Muslims did not ask the FG to fund any islamic bank.it was the ignorance of CAN and its arms that made remarks that were not true.the islamic bank was only given license by government.it is muslims who will fund it.

why deny ordinary muslims to have an islamic bank when fanatical christians have universities?

the islamic bank would be for all nigerians irrespective of religion.but here we have universities that are hot bed for christian arrogance and fanaticism in a country like nigeria.how can such a university discriminate against nigerian students for being muslim? why do muslim students need to hide their identity in order to gain admission? if such discrimination happens with islamic banking, the christian zealots will not make us rest.they will use it for their propaganda against muslims and islam saying "we told you"!

now is it not time for the government to shut down such a university like covenant for discrimination and racism? would the government wait for fanatics from the other end like boko haram to hijack this issue and use it as a "reason" to "fight for muslims"?

the government through the ministry of education should do somthing and make this university to sit up or shut it down.

Abdullah Ibn Umar Denies the "Taraweeh" Bid'ah Started by His Father and Compares Those Who Perform It to Donkeys!:

"Abdullah Ibn Umar (the son of Umar Ibn Khattab) did not pray Tarawih with people in Mosque (i.e. in congregation), but he used to offer them individually at home".

Referenece: Encyclopaedia of Fiqh, Vol. 7 (Under Fiqh of Abdullah Ibn Umar)

The Saudi Professor writes further in his Fiqh Encyclopedia:

"One person came to Abdullah Ibn Umar and asked if he should pray Tarawih behind an Imam (i.e. in congregation). Abdullah Ibn Umar asked him if the man could recite Quran. The man answered: "Yes". Upon that Abdullah Ibn Umar told him why does he want to stand queitly like a donkey behind an imam for Taraweeh (in congregation) and that he should go and offer it in his home."

Islam for Muslims / Re: Dua Al-iftitah: For Recitation Every Night During The Holy Month Of Ramadhan by Karbala: 11:40pm On Aug 09, 2011
A brief commentary on Dua al-Iftitah

From: Ali Raza

Du' al-iftutah was taught by or twelth Imam (a) for Shi'as to recite every night during the month Ramadhan, The Du'a is excellent for moulding man's attitude towards his Creator as it discusses many aspects of the wrethedness of the human being, and the grace of Allah. The Du's can be divided into two parts:

1) Man's relationship with Allah,
2) Divine leaders.

The first section of the Du'a describes different qualities of Allah, and reveals the graciousness and love of Allah for the human being. This section of the Du'a can further be divided into the following parts:

a) Praise of Allah: As is the etiquette of Du'a al-Ifttah begins with the raise and glorification of Allah. This is not because Allah needs to be praised before He answers our Du'as, but to remind the supplicant of the Supreme Being he is addressing, good consequently put the awe of Allah into hearts which are often heedless. The beginning of the Du'a also places the supplicant between hope and fear the ideal attitude while praying. Allah is most merciful, but Is also severe in punishment. Humans are not to despair, nor to be too confident butconstantly strive in His way.

b) Emphasis on the Oneness of Allah: Allah has no partner nor son, and has complete, undivided power and control over creation. the inhabitants of theskies and the heavens depend on Him. This Is to strengthen reliance of the supplicant on Allah, as there is none else he can turn to.

c) The Generosity of Allah: The treasures of Allah do not cease, and are always liberally bestowed on His creatures. The needs of the human beings are enormous, and by placing open the door of Du'a Allah has given them the keys to His treasures. His doors are always open, and no supplication to Him is rejected without some answer.
But man is often ungrateful, and always greedy. He expects that his du'as will always be immediately granted. When such Gratification is not forhtcoming, he turns away, instead of reminding himself of all the favours he enjoys.

d) Relationship of Allah an the human being. A strange relationship Indeed! Although it is the human who need Allah, and should strive towards Him, it is Allah who invites and encourages him to come, who shows love and mercy and continues to favour him in many ways.

As the 4th Imam says in Du'a-e-Abu Hamza Shimali:
Praise be to Allah who answers me when I call Him, although I am reluctant when He calls me, and Praise is for Allah who gives me when I ask Him, although I am miserly when he asks me. This is worth pondering over for those who think of Allah as a tyrannical master imposing his rules over humans.
This section of the Du'a is an excellent lesson in the Islamic view point of the qualities of Allah. The God of Islam is a loving, gracious God who treats the human being better than he deserves. The root of the relationship between Allah and man is the love of the creator for His creatures. It is on man to search his heart for a reciprocal response.

The second section of the Du'a send blessings on the Holy Prophet (S) and The M'asumeen, and then discusses the role of the twelth Imam (a).

a) Salawat on the Prophet(s): After faith in Allah, the next most important part of religion is faith in His sent ones. Thus after acknowledging the greatness And graciousness of the creator, the Du'a teaches us to acknowledge the divine leaders as our guides towards Him. Blessings are sent to the Prophet(s) As a sign of love and appreciation for the Prophet(s) and as an acknowledgement that he is a human being and needs mercy and blessings from Allah. It also strengthens remembrance of the Prophet(s) and the inspiration to follow his path.

b) Blessing on the M'asumeen: After the Holy Prophet(s), his successors are remembered and prayed for. These are the true leaders of the Muslim ummah who were Divinely appointed by Allah. Belief in them, and love for them, is an important part of the Shi'a faith.

c) Role of the Twelfth Imam (a): In every era Allah has His representative who guides His creatures towards establishing truth and justice on earth. The Twelfth Imam is the leader of our time, who will come an Allah's religion on earth. The last part of Du's al-Iftitah talks about his coming, preparing believers for the anticipated establishment of the rule of Allah on earth.
Praying for help and victory for the twelfth Imam reminds us that we are waiting for him, and need to prepare for his coming. We become aware of our responsibilities in his ghaybat, and the importance of training ourselves as his helpers. We pray for the ultimate dream of a Muslim, a state in which the religion of Allah is paramount, and disbelief an hypocrisysre degraded.

Du'a al-Iftitah reminds us that both faith and action are necessary to be a true believer. Faith in Allah entails acting on His message brought by His messenger, and establishing His religion on earth. While that can only be done through the Imam, we should work and pray for his arrival. Human beings can only enjoy true justice and peace, and a fulfillment of all their needs under the leadership of a Divine leader.

Du'a al-Iftitah is not only a supplication for our needs, but a teaching of the roots of faith, and a planning for a way of life. It remains on us to plot the chart of our life as we recite this beautiful du'a during the nights of Ramadhan.

ITISTRUE1:

Turn your cheek

No one attacked him, cursed him or even mocked him amongst the true brethren of GOD.

In fact if you read the article patiently you will see that they even visited him and prayed for him and also warned him.

even when he was ill and was on his death bed,he still was patient and endured in faith and remained muslim.even on his death bed, christian missionaries attempted to use his pain to convert him and failed.even in his state of paralysis,he resisted bravely by using his eye-signs to quote bible verses and refute the missionaries.

But it is a known fact that the enemies of GOD have been shut up when they least expected it.
do you then consider the alleged "crucifixion" of Jesus a "shutting up"?
death is no "shut up".everyone will have a turn.

I feel no anger towards Deedat, in fact I feel great pity for him and his followers.
indeed!

i can see you trembled because another thread was started where videos of Deedat's debates were presented:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-729581.0.html

Death, old age etc is not mentioned, only his health after he decided to personally pick up a fight with the king of kings and was finally broken.
you are so dumb!

the man kept up preaching Islam and refuting christianity even when his health was bad and he was getting very old.the man died at the age of 87!

the missionary ofcourse who wrote the stu.pid article to mock the man did not mention his age because he wants you to believe that Deedat was miraculously "punished" for attacking christianity.he also did not mention that Deedat had preached decades before he suffered a stroke.

It is not about the stroke , it is about the fact that he could no longer spew out his lies and was kept quite for more than a decade, even allowing the Christians he so hated to pray for him. Which for me shows the great LOVE among Christians.
the man was old.no one expected him to live forever.he was an icon indeed and a hero that stood for the truth and rightpath.

christian missionaries do not offer anything for free.they always make offers with the hope of buying people's souls.

If Ahmed Deedat was a Christian and spoke out against the Koran like he did against the bible he would have  been killed eons ago by fanatical islamists.

at least Deedat said the truth and presented bible verses.he did not write up articles and books based on imagination like Rushdie did.he did not also burn the bible like Pastor Terry Jones did with the Holy Quran.

many have done horrible things against islam and they are still living.

also,if you watch a video of Deedat's lecture in australia a fanatical christian man wanted to attack him if not for his security guards.Deedat was out of reach that is why he was not hurt.and who knows what may have being done to him to kill him or make him ill?it is not farfetched we dont know many things that happened.
Islam for Muslims / Is It Allowed To Pray Taraweeh? by Karbala: 2:28pm On Aug 07, 2011
the following are the reasons why the Shia do not perform congregational tarawih prayer and why you should not pray taraweeh during the holy month of Ramadhan in congregation after Isha:

1.) it is bid'ah and forbidden.
2.) the Prophet (sa) and the 12 Imams (as) never prayed Taraweeh in congregation.
3.) all nawafil (supplementary prayers) including during the holy month of Ramadhan were ordered by the Prophet (sa) to be prayed individually and at home.
4.) the word "TARAWEEH" was never mentioned by the Prophet (sa) and not mentioned in the Holy Quran.
5.) it was Umar Ibn Al-Khattab,the 2nd Sunni caliph, that ordered for congregational nawafil prayer during Ramadhan.
6.) his order violates the instruction of the Prophet (sa) that nawafil should not be offered in congregation.only obligatory prayers are to be offered in congregation.
7.) Umar calls nawafil in congregation during Ramadhan an "excellent bid'ah".
8.) Imam Ali (as) asked his son Imam Hassan (as) to chase people out of the masjid who were offering nawafil in congregation.
9.) Sunni books and hadiths accept that nawafil are to be offered not in congregation.
10.) Sunnis scholars hold the view that taraweeh is a bid'ah.

would you still rush to the masjid at night during the holy month of ramadhan to offer what violates the teaching and instruction of the Prophet (sa)? are we to follow the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (sa) or someone else's? do others know better than the Prophet (sa)?
