It's kinda similar to a share-buyback programme... ositadima1: Total shares were about 12 billion. Following agreements with a major shareholder, roughly 4 billion shares were returned to the company, likely in exchange for outstanding debt owed to Oando at the group level. My understanding is that the arrangement involved surrendering an equivalent equity stake to settle debts that were already considered impaired.
Under this structure, those shares are being redistributed to minority shareholders in stages, effectively converting the debt into equity. Until all of these shares are fully reissued, EPS is calculated based on the active shares in circulation, not the total issued share capital.
Does this make sense? It’s giving me a headache too. lol |

I don't think the bolded is a good explanation of the agreement. 4,279,042,004 Ordinary shares of Oando PLC held by OODP Nigeria was transferred to OandO plc in settlement of the outstanding obligation of $253.3m (~ ₦390bn). Check note 37 of the UFS... mikeapollo: Yes, the company paid off the equity of some shareholders (who took the company to court) and retrieved the shares from them |

Of the 4,279,042,004 Ordinary shares, only 679,364,206 units have been distributed on the basis of one (1) new for every twelve (12) held by the members at the qualifying date of 14 February 2025. The remaining 3,617,677,798 Ordinary shares is yet to be distributed or reissued. mikeapollo: But the repurchased shares are still meant to be redistributed to shareholders so it should not reduce the outstanding shares (technically speaking), unless they want to give out cash instead of shares or they are deliberating delaying the redistribution to make the EPS look better Infact 1.2b of the 4.18b shares have been redistributed already so it cannot be 8billion shares |

Listed shares ~ 12,431,412,481 Treasury = 4,279,042,004 OS = 8,152,370,000 ositadima1: Remember the agreement between Oando and Ocean and Oil Development Partners (OODP). As part of that arrangement, OODP returned roughly 4 billion shares in exchange for outstanding debt. Those shares are now being re-circulated to minority shareholders in tranches. As a result, based on the number of shares that have so far been redistributed, only about 8 billion shares are currently active, while the remainder are held as treasury shares and therefore excluded from the EPS calculation until they are subsequently reissued.
Regarding production, output appears to be in the range of 30,000–40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) based on publicly available information. |

FIRSTHOLDCOAt First HoldCo we decided to clean house properly. We took a huge one time hit of ₦748bn to admit old bad loans instead of pretending they do not exist. That is why profit looks like it crashed by 92%. Painful headline, but it is a serious long term move. Why do this now? Because the @cenbank is pushing banks to stop kicking problems down the road. So First HoldCo basically closed the chapter on messy loans from past years which sends a clear message that borrowing has consequences and it helps rebuild trust. The key point is this: our business itself is STILL strong. It made ₦2.96tn in interest income and ₦1.91tn in net interest income, which gave it the strength to take the clean up and still stay standing. Now at @FirstBankngr and beyond we go into 2026 lighter, cleaner and better prepared for the recapitalisation era and serious growth. Bad loans cleared + strong income engine + long term thinking = real value creation 💪🏾🏦🐘 …. F.Ote💲 https://x.com/i/status/2017642890902573162 |

It's becoming too frequent @ the bolded. Last week, I made a withdrawal request after 12noon and was credited same day. However there is a lot of delay in honoring requests e.g. a WR sent by 8:30am was credited around 5pm... Ibrahim505: Same with me. I sent the widrawal request after 12pm. It's not a red flag- they seldom honour transactions after 12pm. |

Memoirs... nosa2: My ultimate signal to flee to cash is when my mother calls me and asks how she can invest.
So for me this is how it works, markets start to do well; then my siblings hear about it through their friends etc. They then call me and ask how can they invest and what should they buy. I give them something, they make some money , and then they tell my mother. The minute my mother calls me and asks how she can be involved, I RUN AWAY.
This has worked with crypto and the stock market.
Right now I am looking at the market. When the madness starts I stop looking at the market and I start looking at market participants. The madness has not started oh. Those who were around in 2008 will testify as to how crazy things get. People were bribing to be involved in private placements. Something tells me we will get there with this boom cycle. It may not be soon but we are going there.
Do you remember that there was a time people were buying crypto accounts?
Markets do get crazy |

Yh. This Q4 drop seems to be the norm but 70% is a lot. I await ARADEL's result... awesomeJ: OKOMUOIL: over 70% drop in Q4 earnings yoy.

Reading AIRTEL's results is merely for mental exercise, the stock is as good as delisted on the NGX. |
