Let me drop my 2cents. The urea (fertilizer) and polypropylene have their own distinct production processes AND plants. Their raw materials are byproducts of the refining process. So it's ideal to situate all plants (fertilizer, refinery and petrochemicals) within same complex for efficiency. For context, the full name is Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Complex FZE. For example, Port Harcourt Refinery has no petrochemicals plant compared to the other two (Warri and Kaduna). I believe that due to the complex nature and size of a refinery, it'll be in our best interest for Alhaji to do seperate listing else we might see a SP of ₦5000 at listing... faoogoke: Clarity is needed.
We hear Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals
We hear Dangote Refinery
We hear Dangote Petrochemicals
We hear Dangote Fertilizer.
The Fertilizer is well understood but the other two. Are two companies going to be listed or three? |

I think Alhaji wants to control the entire value chain of the Downstream sector. And you can be sure that he will indeed bring a revolution to the sector. He has the refinery. Now he needs to ensure adequate and steady supply so a lot of bottlenecks that makes the sector a 'thin margin' business will be eliminated. This could be another way to actually beat the importers at their game aside creating a seamless supply chain I only hope he succeeds... 🤞🏾 Olaide1295: I suspect it could be buying up MRS and some downstream businesses. That way, he controls his own distribution.
But downstream is a thin margin business. Borrowing commercial papers at 20+% to enter downstream guarantees his output distribution but mehn…I hate that business. Also, I’d have thought he will want to focus more on upstream to ensure sweet crude supply (he applied for some licenses in Angola and started producing 15k barrels daily in Nigeria) |

I don't know if this event has already taken place. But I hope he successfully counters the atmosphere of negativity spread by the alarmist auditor

Implementation Of A New Settlement Cycle For Equities Transactions In The Nigerian Capital MarketFurther to a comprehensive review of the current settlement cycle in the Nigerian capital market and extensive engagements with stakeholders, the Securities and Exchange Commission (“the Commission”) hereby informs all capital market stakeholders that the equities segment of the market would transition to a T+2 (i.e. trade date plus two days) settlement cycle, effective from November 28, 2025. The Commission expects this migration to have a significant impact on the profile of the Nigerian Capital market by enabling: Improved Liquidity: An expedited settlement process, which allows investors to access their funds more quickly and enhance overall market liquidity. Risk Mitigation: Reduction of exposure to counterparty risk, thereby contributing to a more stable and resilient market. Global Alignment: Alignment with international best practice, which repositions Nigeria as a more competitive and attractive destination for both domestic and foreign investors. The following implementation details should be noted: Effective Date: The T+2 settlement cycle for equities transactions would take effect on November 28, 2025. This connotes that transactions for November 28, 2025 would be settled via a T+2 cycle. Obligation of Market Participants: All market participants, including brokers, dealers, broker/dealers and custodians, are required to update their systems and processes to ensure the effective implementation of the new settlement cycle. Investor Guidance: Investors are advised to consult with their brokers and investment advisers to understand how the new settlement cycle may impact their transactions and investment strategies. For further information or clarifications on the subject, please contact the Commission through: emidivision@sec.gov.ng Signed Management https://sec.gov.ng/circular-on-the-implementation-of-a-new-settlement-cycle-for-equities-transactions-in-the-nigerian-capital-market/ |
