They're songs are all a little funeral dirge- sounding even when the themes are upbeat; I think it's Chris Martin's whiny, somewhat unearthly voice that grates on me after a little.

Anyway I swear that song is enough to make you slit your wrist.  The piano's intro and outro sef is just so SAD. Not like "omg it's sounds so horrible you wanna die", more like "this is so damn depressing that life isnt worth living" Ironically it's one of my fav Coldplay songs. Used to play the hell out of it in college.
