well maybe not leave, but at what time do you stop going to PPA?, they will no longer pay you after this month and next month is POP.

Hi everyone I was told by another copper we have a 3 week leave from PPA before our POP. Is this true?

Also i'm planning on leaving my PPA at the end of this month. Final clearance is just a few weeks ahead and I will no longer receive payments from them after this month.

Anyone else doing the same?

They say i am to report there EVERY wednesday...is that necessary?
I thought we go there once a month for Monthly Clearance only.

Apparently nobody here has been to the North before...i assure you there are more cat lovers there than dog lovers. Ppl in the north dont like to keep dogs for strict religious reasons . Cats are seen as very clean creatures compared to dogs in the eyes of muslims.

Im only asking because in future i can still hold on to mac as personal computer but have the windows PC for professional use

You can visualise Windows on free softwares like virtual box or paid softwares like vmware workstation. But since you will be running mostly cad programmes you will need to install Windows side by side with the mac OS. It is relatively safe, I run 3 totally different operating system on my laptop and I don't have a problem with it.
Or you could just buy the software like every body else don't let those poor software developer go hungry.
You should check out achicad, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk 3dx design

thank you for the advice....but lets just say i had some money somewhere to buy a new windows laptop, which kind would be ideal for all these programms? And what would be the price range?

I am an architect,studied in Nigeria though,did my first and second degree concurrently...afterwards NYSC....now...this is the flow in Nigeria...first u get a degree from any good school of architecture in Nigeria,if after ur first degree you apply for ur second degree that's ur masters' degree so to speak,and ur application is granted,then and only then can u continue ur studies without Nysc..afterwards you then go for NYSc

Now ...you have a foreign certificate,it would have been better if you had ur second degree before returning to Nigeria for NYSC...as you don't av it now,you will have to go for NYSC..cos the NYSC discharge certificate is a very important requirement for employment in Nigeria,after ur NYSC is done...you can go for ur second degree,full practice.....u are free as a bird..

Conversely...you can't apply for a second degree in architecture without NYSC,all schools of Architecture in Nigeria will ask for it before you get admitted...the major reason why it's preferable to get a masters degree in architecture before going for NYSC is to enable you write the PPCE exam without having to go through stages 1 and 2....

as it is now...you can apply to NIA to become a graduate member ...i.e..a graduate architect...After ur masters' degree you qualify to become an associate architect...when you finally write the PPCE exam and pass,then you qualify to get registered as a full architect...or become a registered architect with powers to check,seal and approve drawings....

Thanks, this really helped...although im not planning on doing my masters in naija either. Here's my plan: NYSC first...then depending on how ways of the world go (exam results, visa application, acceptance etc), its off to Masters...if not i get a minor job, be a drafting assistant, 3d modeler whatever for at least a year before moving on to masters....once that's done i can face NIA head-on.

Install Windows 10,you will find a lot of pirated software s for Windows. Better still you could buy the software.

I dont want to lower the performance of my mac...ive heard too many comments that this is unwise.
As for buying the software: sure i'll just go withdraw $1000 from my bank account for vray and then another $3000 for lumenrt.

All the ones I've found are either password locked or need premium account, or completed survey to download and such...Im using a Macbook pro Version 10.11.6 [El-Capitan].
The softwares i desperately need are:

Vray for sketchUp 2015/2016

Lumenrt 2015

Light-Up for sketchUp

I already have programmes such as Artlantis, but they are not to my taste.

If anyone within the architectural business knows anyplace in Kaduna i could go to for help or know any "legitimate" websites i can check to download any one of these from, i will be forever grateful.

And if anyone has other recommendations, I'm open to them.

Im currently about the serve in NYSC this year. I studied architecture abroad. I have ppl telling me there's no need to do NYSC at the moment bcuz I haven't gotten my masters degree or registered with the Board.
Is this true? Im very confused at the moment, can someone explain more about this in depth?

Im from the north (Kaduna), so journey takes a while and i just had an important family matter that came up suddenly during this week and absolutely no way to avoid it and come to camp tomorrow...or any day in the next week or two. Is it still possible to come after that and STILL register despite everything? If i could go for streamII i will (if it's possible).
I dont want to wait til batch A again...its too long a wait.
I ddnt want to b in this situation but i have no choice.

Can someone explain to me what the hell an evaluation letter is? This is the first ive heard, ive registered....page says im still being "evaluated", is this what it means. How come it wasnt mentioned on the nysc site? This is bullshit ive got friends who've already printed their slips without uploading some evaluation letter.

I graduated from cyprus, I registered on 20th nd its still giving me the same "you have not been evaluated yet" page. I have a friend who graduated from the same place as me, nd registered at the same time as me, she's already printed her slip, its been 10 days since mine...thousands have already gotten theirs...im getting very worried.

Does anyone know any firms in kaduna and abuja that take in service members this batch year?
