As a result of the selection of Prof. Osinbajo as General Buhari's running mate,both PDP and APC have decided to change their zoning formular.

  Each of the party decided to change its zoning formular so that the emergence of Prof. Osibanjo will not halt their chances of winning 2015 election.

  It should be recalled that Prof.
Osinbajo, is a native of Ikenne, Ogun State in the South-West while his wife Dolapo, is a granddaughter of  Yoruba
politician, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

  It was gathered that PDP plans to zone some of the top positions in government to Prof. Osinbajo's zone.This is aimed to trigger people from this zone to vote for president GEJ in  2015 election.It was also gathered that PDP plans to zone key positions to South-West as well as the Speakership of the House of Representatives.

  In a similar way,if APC wins 2015 election,it plans to zone the Senate Presidency and the Speakership of the House of Representatives, to the South-East and the South-South because the North and South-West have the President and Vice-President slots already.

Speaking on the issue,a chieftain of the APC, who spoke on anonymity said:

“Apart from the Senate Presidency and the Speakership of the House of Representatives,
there is also the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and key ministries that can be given to the zone that didn’t get the
President and VP slot.”

While speaking yesterday at  the 2014 Christmas Carol organized by the Aso Villa Chapel at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa,President GEJ urges Nigerians to pray for him so that he will be able to take the right decisions in all the matters concerning the country.

Inmates of all the prisons across the country have been granted the right to vote in all the elections following a yesterday's verdict by Justice Mohammed Lima of the Federal High
Court in Benin, Edo State.

  The ruling followed a suit filed by Victor Emenuwe, Onome Inaye, Kabiru Abu, Osagie Iyekepolor, Modugu Odion (for and on behalf of inmates of Nigeria Prisons) against a proposed move by the INEC and the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Prisons Service that initially prohibit the inmates from voting.

Ahead of 2015 elections,INEC has been accused of corruption by  APC.

  In relation to this,Kaduna chapter of APC has written a petition to Kaduna State Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC),complaining that some of the  electoral commissioners posted to Southern Kaduna were asking for bribe before they carry out  the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) exercise.

“It is either INEC is not prepared for the exercise or it has plans to deliberately exclude Kaduna State by depriving the people of their civic responsibilities.

“The leadership of the party in the state has gone round the entire state after the commencement of the exercise and observed that the PVC has recorded little success in that so many people were unable to receive theirs, and the explanation given by officials is
that they have not received supplies.

“The continuous registration in most of the local governments has not commenced,where it has commenced it is only done at
ward collating centres using one machine contrary to the guide line for conducting it at every polling unit.

“In Igabi Local Government Area with over 400,000 registered voters, the exercise is only carried out in seven centres; in Zaria Local Government where the exercise is yet to commence, INEC is planning to conduct it at
its local government office only.

“If the PVC exercise is not carried out in accordance with the guideline, we are sorry to
say that you are only inviting rancour and probably not prepared to conduct the general
elections in Kaduna State.In other words, we suspect that you are only following the dictates of the ruling PDP at the expense of
the popular majority."
