Foreign AffairsRe: Was Nelson Mandela A Terrorist? by kaycrystal(m): 12:58pm On Jan 23, 2008

@kaycrystal

Well, even if Mandela was a terrorist, he had his ideologies, future and focus of liberating and extricating the black race from the clutches of racism. And he (mandela) had a technical step by step approach and resorted to violence only when dialogue failed.

Our dear terrorist in d niger delta simply fight for their selfish glories, and personal interests, might interest u to know that they never even engage in any dialogue b/4 writing threat letters to d presidency. They're never heroes in the making, infact, posterity will not 4give them for the havoc they're causing innocent citizens because of selfish reasons
point taken!

but u know ken saro wiwa follwed the ideological path! too bad he came at a wrong time i guess!

and also, the present day militants seem to lack the needed step by step approach and focus!

not to worry, history will always set things straight in spite of how much we try to distort the facts!

If the end justifies the means! does that make our dear militants terrorist or heroes in the making?
PoliticsRe: Lastma Worse Than The Nigerian Police by kaycrystal(m): 10:13am On Jan 23, 2008
The major bane of our development is that we dont put in measures that enhance productivity and compliance!

who monitors the police as an institution?

who monitors other various institutions we have?

lastma has very good motives and we sure appreciate their role, but we need to set up monitoring units else we are goin to have serious issues on our hands!

gradually, we are building monstsers and encouraging gangsterism in the name of having a sane traffic environment!

lastmas atrocities are rather pathetic and alarming!

something needs to be done!

another thing i heard was that those guys pay their own salaries in order to save govt cost, meaning those outrageous monies goes into the account used in running the outfit! am sure this also enhance the bribes they collect!!!

nairaland is more fun cos of this ur so called invasion! imagine a scenario where everyone here just falls on queue! it wont be so much fun if u ask me.

this typifies the real world, where u got the gud, d not so gud and the not too ugly!! the invaders brought in their flair n fun.

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Cote D'ivoire by kaycrystal(m): 11:45am On Jan 22, 2008
my only concern is that we have a team of average players! wen a team lacks exceptional player(s) that cud win a match, den the reliance shd be on very solid team work, dedication and the will to win!

we seem to be lacking all that at the moment, and since we cant bring in new players, which we dont have really, the guys shd solidify on their work rate and play as a team! else!!!

eagles of back in the years, even wen we lose, we still fit watch match highlights, okocha's dribbles, passes, freekicks, oliseh's ball sense, finidi's crosses, there's always somtin unique and impressive bout the naija team!

but what did we see yesterday, a bunch of wot? overrrated, overbloated egoistic players? maybe not, their best was probably not just good enough! anyways, we still have two matches to go huh

PoliticsRe: N20 Note Is Not Durable, It Tears Easily by kaycrystal(m): 6:28pm On Jan 14, 2008
we shd try some kinda of kahki material, cos 20 naira is probably the most used, abused and misused of all the denominations!

nigerians need more naira handlin skills really, but the present material is not as bad as u make it seem.also some pple out of curiosity has been very unkind to dat particular note. av seen some dat was obviously delibrately mangled for wotever reasons!

soludo has no apologies since this is meant to be a test, but why spend so much printin or is mintin in this case as a test! beats me!!! am certain there are better, cheaper, effective and more conservative ways to run such elaborate tests!!!!

@pOSTER

Since u have refused to answer my question about the kind of REL u had with her.

Well, your sins of the past has caught up with u. You may have thought u had a hit & run, or u had a taste of some naive girl & crept away. Cos i believe if u were in love with her then or she had been someone meaningful in your life, You would have included that in your Initial post.

Karma has a way of catching up, Now its your bro in love with the same girl (u probably have abused). Get off their case & seal your lips like she said.

Hmmn I love that bad girl, lol , lol.

Forget the story of telling your bro anything. Cos if u do, i'm sure she can't be that dumb not to be able to produce a simple answer as "I was naive, i thot he loved me, i wanted to tell u but couldn't find how" & your brother is so in love he'll believe, move on & maybe hate u. So why don't u seal your lips from now & wait for your own dream girl. LMPAO!
U got it wrong, she's never going to produce an easy answer here and the fact that she kept quiet for this long is enuff to wreck her intergrity with the husband to be! trust men, nobody buys explanation wen it comes to this!!!

the line of thot is this: if u did with my bro and cudnt tell me, hw much more have u done that i wont ever knw of! it smacks more of pretence no matter how hard the babe has shown to be a gud person!the gudness has become sheer pretence to get him hooked!

its a tough call, and there is no easy way out of this!

like every game of deception, someone is obviously going to get hurt either now or soon enuff!!! cos this poster aint thro yet and the bro is obviously in love or delusion.

whichever way, its a sorry case!! and u ought to av told ur bro wen u saw the babe with him, if u guys were pals!

I believed their are something wrong about Awolowo that made his Excellency Otumba Chief Akala to drag down the Statue.
It's a pity to treat Mr Awolowo in such a way, this shows that his legacies are no more welcome. Kai!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If statues represents legacies in ur warped dictionary, then we know where you belong. obviousy you are a rare breed of the molete boys that has little time for the internet but also you are yet to understand and explore the possibilites by getting more educated and enlightened. pity you dint come during the era of free education!!! huh

willy*2:
Mr Awolowo was/is known by people as a champion of Tribalism and back-stabbing and his Excellency Otumba Chief Alao Akala don't want people to see him as a supporter of such an ugly mentality.
For example the problem between the Ijaws and Ishekiris was caused by this same man and many lives were lost on that conflict and majority of his policies contributed to the loss of many other innocent lives.
Maybe because of all this loss of peoples lives, His Excellency doesn't want his hands stain, that is why he want to distance himself from such a man.
write as much as you can, and make as many excuses as you can.

one thin is certain, the legacies left by awo we know, and also that of akala /adedibu, we shall surely see.

akala is the man distancing himsef from awo, dats fair, gud enough and actually appropriate, cause they obviously dont belong to same school of thought!

PoliticsRe: Who Is Responsible For Nigeria`s Woes, Our Leaders Or The System? by kaycrystal(m): 1:59pm On Jan 10, 2008
@noetic

you are missing the main point here, people only stand up and fight for what they believe in. How many of us believe in this contraption called nigeria?

south africa's apartheid worked the same reason our independence did, there was a common enemy, a common unifying goal. do we presently have that now??

June for example: very recent, like you mentioned in your post, what was the outcome! why dint the people sit out the protests and make the needed difference at that time?

its simple, we dont see anything collectively, u first belong to a region, to a tribe before you are called a nigerian.

if we dont first settle the nigeria question, then we cant possibly have a successful mass protest and pro-people struggle as you put it!

@aisha2

take it easy, we cannot have a lawless state all in the name of fighting corruption. these governors are innocent till proven guilty. mind you dont pay attention to the massive decay in our infrastructures, dont bother bout the billions in various accounts abroad, dont bother about the number people dying cos of poor heallth care. Rule of law must just be followed and also d magic word!!!! due process. shocked sad embarassed

PoliticsRe: Who Is Responsible For Nigeria`s Woes, Our Leaders Or The System? by kaycrystal(m): 9:16am On Jan 10, 2008
i said this before, subconsciously nigerians are defeated people. how long ago did fela sing about shuffering and shmiling? we listened to the rythm, danced and laughed it over with propably chilled bottles of beer. we dint appreciate the message.

we surely do have the messiah mentality, someone somewhere showing up and solving all our problems, jerry rawlings kind of stunt. we know how that story ended!

you cannot separate the leaders from the system, u cant draw a line and polarize the two. quinofhart asked who created the system?

we heard the gist about a certain past leader saying money was not nigeria's problems but how to spend it! guess they found an answer to that eventually!

if u say stand up and be counted how do u mean??

it was easier fighting for independence, even though we knew some regions dint understand the purpose at that time, but eventually they rallied in their support.

but now, we no longer have a common enemy, we are polarized into separate segments, several tribes and regions.

the educational system also dint help us, we dont have a single nation called nigeria. what did we learn in school, the story of the benin kingdom, the oyo emmpire, the fulani caliphate. were we ever taught the story of nigeria's independence? as a nation as a people?

we first see ourselves as tribal citizens, and not as nigerians.

until we are able to see the nigeria picture, develop the nigerian dream, we'll always be sceptical about one another.

we need reorientation about the nigeria project, we need to wake up and see the true nigeria or we just simply evolve it.

We dont have democracy yet! a process that produces (s)elected pple that has no bearing with the votin pattern of the populace cannot be described as democracy!!!

its our chance to take back what rightly belongs to us, time to act! are the people ready?

we expect that for some reasons these thieves will some day get tired and say, alright we've had enough!!!! that wont happen. the people will have to fight and fight hard for this.

lastly there is just too much power at the center!

Like the poster said, lets focus on education! thats what the thread is about!

Kobojunkie:
I will say that providing people access to information and encouraging them to research ideas will go along way to helping the country and the political situation in the country too. Many of us go to vote without even knowing important information about those we intend to vote for other than what THEY tell us and what information THEY feed us. That, in my opinion, is reason why we seem to continue to repeat the mistakes of our past over and over in that country. People seem to continue to vote for NAMES, for the man who is able to spend money here and there and for people who are painted in the media to look good for us but many Nigerians do not know much about how these people got where they are today and why they may not be a good fit for the people.
Most times pple know the background of the guys they are voting. we've had cases of reknown 419 kingpins given cheiftaincy titles!! Its not really a question of not knowing who they really are, i guess its just a realization that the system is corrupt and geting what the idiot is promising them is better than nothing! and also accepting the fact that change is still far away irrespective of what they do. either you collect the money and vote now or you dont, the election results has been decided!

sub consciously, nigerians seem to have accepted defeat!

how do Nigerians "develop" themselves? Enough with populist theories please give us concrete ideas.
