TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by kayeee4321: 4:01am On Mar 11, 2015
hi every one its nice to be back wink
i had some queries before for a tourist or a fiancee visa here few months back, but thought would be a weak case so we got married!!! grin

so i now have questions re spouse visa application lol grin

1. if husband in the uk falls below the financial threshold, and will have to use cash savings to supplement the shortage of the sponsor's income..

it says THE APPLICANT and their SPONSOR must have at least £16,000 in savings plus 2.5 times the shortfall of £18,600 in order to satisfy the financial criteria...

does it mean MY savings here and HIS savings in the uk combines must have £16,000 in savings plus 2.5 times the shortfall of £18,600huh?

2. and around how long does he need to have that savings in his account prior the application?!?

3. do we still have to prove where the money in savings account came fr even tho its not put in lump sum?!?

4. does it have a bearing if i, the applicant is unemployed? ( planning of resigning to look after my kid for the mean time while processing the application )

thank you in advance for taking the time to read smiley

I suggest you use original documents you would only be making their decision to refuse you an easy one they categorically state originals
I know people whom have been reduced solely for using faxed documents
If u want to get visa play by the rules use original documents
And request they send it to you back in a covering letter
What does your bf need payslip for that he cnt use the copies
Trust me it certainly cnt be as important as getting a visa
3sha4lyf: You are correct, but only to the extent that the original documents are for example readily available, etc.
I've seen two successful applicants use a scanned copy of invitation letter for graduation from an invitee's university. They stated it categorically in there cover letter that they've included scanned copy of iv letter to support their application.
Maybe the embassy requests for original docs because of the high tendency to forge docs in naija. I also think that the "Original documents requirements" is just their disclaimer in case they deny you based on their doubts. I guess if it's something they are in doubt of they can do further checks.
This said, I'm of the opinion that if @ kayeee4321 other docs are alright enough to make a decision, the photocopies may be inconsequential.
So in other words, clear photocopies or fax may be used if the original is unavailable. Preferable to use originals but if it's unavailable, do u kill ya sef? Noooooooo (lol)
isogee: please you can use photocopies/scan copies/ fax but it should be very clear and readable. some people makes thing looks as if they VO will overlook ur document when u submit photocopies. document from inland(nigeria) shd b original but document from outside naija can be original or photocopies....
@joxiri
@3sha4lyf
@isogee
thanks so much for all clarifications, very much appreciated winkthanks

girlfio: With a fiancé visa it can be difficult to prove that you have intentions of marriage strong enough to convince the ECO. Especially if you are applying from a high risk country, you have to prove strong relationship ties and proof of firm plans for the wedding. Also as the potential spouse u will not be able to work until u get your spouse visa after marriage. Since you guys haven't met, I would advise that you arrange to meet first. Develop your relationship, it's not necessarily about how long u r together before marriage but it helps greatly if u have experiences to speak of together, e.g holidays, birthdays, celebrations etc. I would advise that you visit as a tourist, go back home then start planning your wedding. Make sure u keep all emails, phone bills, take loads of pictures and basically start gathering your evidence for when u submit your application.
noted, thanks so much..will do all of those hehe wink

justwise: They don't have to do that, since you will be staying with them that takes care of accommodation and feeding. Money in their bank statements will take care of things like shopping, transport within the UK and sightseeing etc.
oh now i understand, much more clear hehe thank you grin
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by kayeee4321: 10:03am On Jul 08, 2014
justwise: Is that written in the IV sent to you? You can write £650 but its very very important that you use the space in the form to explain the situation clearly. They should state in IV that you will be given £500 for shopping or stuff, don't make any claim that is not supported by them.
hi master justwise smiley
just a clarification, even though they've already put in on the IV that they shoulder everything,do they need to put in the exact amt of money they will provide for my stay?and say £500 will be given for my entire budget while im there? did i got u right sir? thank you grin

girlfio: You cannot get married in the UK whilst on a tourist visa. I would advise that if u either go for a fiancé visa (which are notoriously difficult to get) or you get married in Nigeria and make an application for spouse settlement from your home state.
oh ok thanks for your advice, may i ask why fiancee is "notoriously difficult"to get? hehehe we havent really met in person yet, this is the first time so i camt apply for a fiancee yet sad
its actually very fast,so we just want to be together and thinking of which route is faster and easier thank you wink

justwise: Wait until you have those documents before filling the financial section of the form because they have to be accurate.
thanks for your response..they already did their homework on their accounts and £400 per mo.will be spare money after bills and expenses fr my bf and £500 spare per month fr his dad.. and yes theve put in on the IV that they will shoulder all expenses food travel accomodation for the duration of my stay..but the exact amouny was not put in,so thanks so much,il have them write it on a new IV they need to send to me again hahaha thanks cheesy

ohh sad so should i just transfer it then to my savings accouny to be readily available?

so you think my daughter and property will suffice as coming back home? ive travelled to 4diff countries in Asia so it'll show that im really a traveller hehe smiley
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by kayeee4321: 4:38pm On Jun 30, 2014
worry 359: Very sorry but your chances do not look too good.
Where you are weak is on your ties to return home, especially with going to visit boyfriend.
UKBA may think that you will want to stay.
Also you are using all your savings and funds for the visit, they do not like this.

As you do not have a lot of money it would be a shame to loose it on a visa application that may fail.
You should get better ties to home first & build up your funds.
hi thanks for helping me out,
i have a 5yr old daughter to come home to and just acquired 1hectare of land sincey dad past away, and also have fixed investment of £1000.00since 2011..but ive headd ECOs dont care about fixed accounts, they only matter the readily available cash..but i can put in on the space provided on the applicatiom, once approved i can transfer the money toy savings account so it can be readily available?? you think that will work? sad
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by kayeee4321: 4:33pm On Jun 30, 2014
i also have a follow up question of you dont mind wink

the questions:
"what money is available to you for your trip"
and
"what is the cost to you personally pf your stay in the UK?"

>> does mean the same? i mean should i put in the same answers? or does the first question pertains to my pocket money? and the 2nd question is for the entire trip?

and there's another question:
"if someone other than yourself is payinh for all or any part of this visit, how much money will they give you?">> since invited me,my bf and his dad will shoulder all of it,i will only carry pocket money for myself..should the answer to this also the same for the cost of my entire trip for 2weeks?

sorry questions are kinda tricky for me i need help cry
