Dangbo:Dude, are you 12 years old? What exactly did I say that is a lie? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Dollar |

Albums are released on Fridays now, nolonger on Tuesdays, so they attain a full week's sales on Fridays. And so, that's when I would be putting up the post with the top selling rap albums of the week from now on. It is kinda a slow week for Hip Hop, but I am guessing album sales will shoot up when we get fully into holiday mood next week. Fetty Wap's self titled album, Fetty Wap is still doing great numbers. The album sold 31,892 copies this week. Below is the full list of the top selling rap albums of the week. Fetty Wap- Fetty Wap- 32,000 (Bleep,Bleep) Drake & Future- What A Time To Be Alive - 24,000 (Bleep,Bleep) G-Eazy- When It's Dark Out- 22,576 (154,000) Rick Ross- Black Market- 19,000 (83,000) Future- Dirty Sprite 2- 15,00 (Bleep,Bleep) The sales numbers are rounded up to the nearest hundreds. Also, based on the new rules by Billboard, these album sale numbers above are actual sales, plus album streams. http://www.kaysrapzone.com/2015/12/this-weeks-top-selling-rap-albums.html

BreezyCB:Your opinion. I'm sure you probably didn't even listen to the album. |
So...Do you think Rick Ross over-saturated the music scene with his music in the last couple of years? I think so. And it was a big mistake. In the last 21 months, he has released three albums, and one mixtape. I think that's just too much music for that that short a period. That is like releasing four albums in two years, cos really, his Black Dollar mixtape was like an album (most of his mixtapes are like albums). Oh, yea, I almost forgot he also released a mixtape titled Renzel last month, filled with his remixes of other people's songs. The mixtape was a double disk, and had 26 songs on it...Come on! That's taking it too far. Yea, there was a time Lil Wayne saturated the market with his music, and didn't burn out, but there is a big difference here. Lil Wayne's style of music has very little dept to it. Wayne depends on his unlimited punchlines and metaphors, backed with his crazy delivery to carry him through most songs. But Ross is more of a content based rapper, and it is only so much ways you can tell your story or drop street knowledge before people start getting tired of it. And besides, Lil Wayne was doing a lot of features/guest appearances, not dropping two albums in a year and all that. Rick Ross just dropped his latest album, his 8th studio album (Black Market), and even though the album is better than the one before it, it sold far less. After a full week in stores, Ross's latest album, Black Market sold just a little over 60,000 copies. This is the lowest first week sales in his 9 years long career. At this point, I think he needs to focus on promoting this album and all the songs on it to the maximum for the next couple of months, and then he needs to take a long hiatus. He needs to go off the scene for a while; maybe do a couple of features, but not releasing another album or mixtape for at least two years. Then come back again, and take things slow this time. When people have too much of anything, they get tired of it, and it loses its worth in their eyes. It is that simple. http://www.kaysrapzone.com/2015/12/did-rick-ross-over-saturate-music-scene.html

EroticAngelina:No...unless his sister asks boys for money like that girl obviously does, I don't think she would be treated that way. |
Qualer:Okay. My bad. I apologize to everyone for the error. |
Djicemob:Hater. |
Today is Tekno's birthday, and the Made Men Music Group artist went and got himself a brand new Mercedes Benz C Class. Checkout this picture of him sitting on it. Can you see his yellow BMW in the back...I am sure he will be driving the Benz more these days. The kid had a great year, so he deserves this. The Benz cost $35,000 (7 million Naira). He is 23 years old today. http://nigeriancelebritypictures..com.ng/2015/12/pic-tekno-gets-himself-mercedes-benz-as.html

When Linda Ikeji bought her Range Rover last year, the hate and envy was so much that an old friend of hers' took it upon himself to shot her blog down. She overcame that challenge, and her brand grew bigger...so big that she was able to afford a house in Banana island for half a billion Niara this year. Now, the hate is back on another level. People don't believe she can be making that much money from blogging, and some believe she is dining with dirty politicians, or doing some shady business behind the scene. This afternoon, she dedicated a post on her blog to address the haters. Below is a portion of that post. "I know buying a house for that amount in such a place confused a lot of people. Many didn't believe I could afford it...and to be honest, I don't blame them. If I were them, I'd have my doubts too. If you don't understand how this internet business works, you would never get how a blogger can afford it. But let's put it this way...Perez Hilton, who is the biggest blogger in the US is worth over $30million (Google it). He started blogging in 2005, just a year before I started blogging in 2006... and I am supposed to be the biggest blogger in Africa. Would it not be a shame if I'm not worth even $5million? Lol...especially when 90% of the companies in Nigeria who advertise online, advertise on LIB! There's so much money to be made in media.Hundreds of brands, individuals, multinationals plug into your platform. If not for LIRS (hehe), I would have thought many of you interested in online business how you can make money. But I'd be exposing myself. Lol. (But maybe one day I'll do a one-day seminar and teach you guys the tricks...*wink*). You remember when Oprah was still running her show? When Forbes released list of highest earning individuals, she would always top the list with like $300million earnings in one year, while actors and actresses would make less than $50m in year? That's media! Me that I'm aiming to be the first black billionaire blogger from Africa! Hehe. (some people think I already am sef...) And about all the negativity being spread online...please my darlings, ignore! When you are on top, there's so much envy. People try so much to bring you down. Your success causes them so much headache and they look for ways to discredit you, to bring you down to their level. Remember what they tried to do to me last year? I over came that and will continue to over come. They will keep coming at me with what they have...this will never stop as along as I keep staying on top...and it's okay because I plan to keep shining...lol. If they are this mad that I bought a house in Banana Island, what would they do when I eventually buy a private jet? Lol. For every successful person out there...or just succeeding at something...these people will always exist! Your success will pain them so much, they will want your downfall. Just keep your head up and keep doing you and keep shining! To keep succeeding is your best revenge! God is your strength! I love this song die!!! |
Rossikk:Hmm! |
4giveand4get:Hmm! Thanks a lot for this comment. |
calaway:I must confess, I didn't know this before. Thanks for enlightening me. This was all I asked for? Answers. Thanks once again. I see things differently now. |
Okay. I must confess, I have learnt a lot from this post. I am not fighting anyone, I just asked a simple question. Thanks for the enlightenment. Now, I just wish you can get your Biafra (that you deserve) without bloodshed and belittling other tribes. The fact that we Yoruba are not as physically hardworking as you guys doesn't mean that we are not blessed in other areas. The diversity has really helped Nigeria in the past. Anyway, it is obvious we can nolonger live together...Let's just look for the best way to separate. |
Duru1:I never said a country must be endowed with crude oil...I was just asking why most igbo people keep saying Northerners are using THEIR OIL. That's all. I hardly hear Niger Delta people saying that. |
kenny987:You are a dumb girl that has to resort to abuse to prove a point. I can see why some people don't like your people. Very proud and cocky. |
calaway:Blah Blah! We are talking about where the majority of the oil exported comes from, not the minute amount that comes from Imo and Abia. I can as well say the Hausa's are using my oil from Ondo state to better their lives. I am 100% behind the fight of the Niger Delta people for how unfairly they are treated because by the government even though their land gives us majority of our exporting commodity, and they suffer on top of that from oil spillage...But Igbo people should please come up with a better argument. |
LadyFiona:I see you have been brainwashed by that Kanu guy. |
Why do Igbo people keep saying northerners are enjoying 'their oil?' It is not your oil. Is Bayelsa, or Rivers, or Delta an igbo speaking state? |
calaway:First of all, Igbo people don't produce the Oil that runs the nation, you guys need to stop saying that. South south people produce the oil...And they sure don't speak the Igbo language, so how would they go with you guys? Secondly, Yoruba people also have to score higher in cutoff point just as igbo children...And this is because the northern children are a bit behind when it comes to general educational level. |
googlepikin:Okay. Cool. Is this a unanimous decision? Cos I have noticed that a lot of rich Igbo people are not concerned about Biafra. It has to be at least 60% of people of Igbo land wanting to leave...not just a small portion of the people. |
calaway:What about it? Break it down. I don't understand. |
