What you should ask yourself is: Could our security operatives have presented a fool-proof case against these people that will ensure they never get bail? Do you just go arrest people without proper charges and thereafter start looking for evidences? In serious countries security operative don't arrest people and then start concouting charges to hold them perpetually.
What is currently going on does not portend good omen for out democratic value if you understand what that means. You don't set a bad precedence because you want to use your personal power to right a wrong. The issue of guilt should be left for court as an institution and not what the president should pronounce on his personal term. If you take people to court without proper charges they have legal right to fight for their fundamental human right of freedom. That under whatever circumstance cannot and must not be tampered with.
