An Italian woman has married herself in a wedding ceremony complete with bridesmaids and 70 guests.

"I firmly believe that each of us must first of all love ourselves," said Laura Mesi, a 40-year-old fitness trainer. "You can have a fairytale even without the prince."

Part of a growing trend for self-marriage, or "sologamy", in the world, the ceremony had no legal status, BBC News reported.

The idea came to her 12 years ago, when her 12-year relationship ended.

Mesi told family and friends that if she had not found her ideal mate by her 40th birthday, she would marry herself. She said she is the first Italian woman to do this.

But not all reaction has been positive. Among the congratulatory messages left on her wedding photos on Facebook are others crying, "So sad", and "there's something wrong with your brain".

After the ceremony complete with a white dress and with a three-layered wedding cake, she told media that to marry yourself, you need a certain amount of money, support of those around you and "a pinch of madness".

But since 1993, people have been marrying themselves, and an industry has sprung up to support a trend which critics lambast as narcissistic. In Japan, a travel agency began offering bridal ceremonies for single women in 2014, while a website in the US called 'I Married Me' offers self-wedding kits.

My first question was rhetorical. The sponsors of boko haraam were within the Goodluck Jonathan administration and have tactically covered their tracks thus evading detection for this long. This is evident in their reckless looting and their refusal to provide weapons / use the weapons funds for campaign. It's only a matter of time before they'll be found. Jus chill.

I remember when a group suggested to then President Obasanjo to provide Retirement homes and how he commented negatively.

Retirement homes are homes where senior citizens are placed under specialist care. These homes are usually staffed with professionals experienced with handling geriatric (old people) patients , diagnosing and providing treatments/managements and also monitoring the patients health status and response to treatment.

This way, more jobs are created, and the patients get timely and accurate care (which alot of Nigerians lack the ability to provide). They are also kept in a an environment which houses their needs as old people devoid of harmful objects, engaging them in activities that slow down their degeneration due to aging. Yet both parents and children alike kick against this idea.

At this point, I think it night be correct to say Nigeria is trying to emotionally blackmail France and the UK by first saying theu sponsor IPOB so when they make requests for certain accounts to be blocked or certain channels closed, theu wont have a choice.

Emotionally blackmail? Apart from radiobiafra, there are still other terrorist radio stations in the UK that seek for funds for ISIL and co. Sometimes codedly, sometimes not. I don't think any blackmail will work for those countries as long as it's not them that are being terrorised.

Why ddnt UMY and/or GEJ find the sponsors of boko Haraam during its infancy when finding the sponsors would've been easier nd the sponsors were few? Before boko haraam pledged allegiance to ISIL?
