We have lots of other avenues to means of livelihood i.e. the skill development institutions and other institution of "unconventional" learning. We have mechanics, plumbers, builders and other artisanal education that have been left in the hands of uneducated and unexposed people. A lot of money is made in these areas.

If lots of real grassroot politicians were in the Senate or lower house, you can imagine the type of laws that would have shaped the country by now.
