Birth certificates of siblings is not compulsory, there's more to this visa application with home ties than the siblings credentials. Moreover, it's not stated anywhere in cic website.
You can always convince the VO on home ties apart from the siblings credentials, of course you have them in the forms. Let's stop making some of these things a do or die affair.

That is why I said on the previous qoute that if the intention is not to use them as home ties, then he/she does not need to present the birth certificate. Siblings are ur family members and therefore can stand in as ur social ties to Nigeria if u so chose.

Why would you fill them in the CIC form without presenting their birth certificate to substantiate your claim? What will you use to proof the relationship between you? Otherwise, I can fill Dangote or Tony Elumelu as my elder brother or uncle.

The reason for this is quite complicated.

If you are referring to their birth certificates then the answer is NO, The only reason you will have to present their birth certificate is if you intend using them as your home tie, but if not, then you will have to look elsewhere for home tie.

In addition to what Qudkom said, I believe that in some passport office if you meet the right person you can have your new passport within a day, three days, or at most one week depending on the location and price you pay to the handler.

I will suggest you get the new passport and submit both old and new with a letter of explanation about the expiration date on the old passport. Good luck

So how much is the worth of the scholarship you mentioned?
The balance of 2.1m naira in your account is not enough to cover for the first year living expense, but you still need to get your gcms note to understand the VO concerns.

I was in the bathroom taking my bath and at the same time playing music with my phone, my music got interrupted and it was an email that entered. Still sponging my body I walked close to my phone to see and it was CIC “donotreply”, you have a new message(s) in your account, I didn’t even know when my sponge fell off my hands. I just picked my phone and ran out of the bathroom like that with my soapy body, my mother saw me on the way and was surprised!.. I also wish to work and live there too but let take of that mind set like with out canada there is no other place for you to school or work . Ask yourself what exactly do you want and check for other countries to try not only Canada because of all your friends have move there or it's where people are rushing to ... look for a simple country with a better work life balance , where you can easily start from with good employment rate. Firstly, I will not want to state our problems without the root cause; specifically, biasness is attributed to most living things, even other lower animals. Despite the reward obtained through this act, there are indirect harms it feeds us with. Definitely, you will be wondering how that applies to your Canadian Visa application! Oh, my friend, it does apply to everything you do….. You just have not discovered it yet and I will be glad to reveal this to you.
In the post I emboldened earlier, there are two objects (Inability to evaluate and see through the mirror) that explain where our troubles are coming from: these two works together and could be, taken to be identical, however, there exist a disparity firmly resisting their articulation, but above all, our attitude of prejudice needs to be laid aside.
To clarify, I will speak on each object:

INABILITY TO EVALUATE
Our problem, specifically attributed to this part of the world, is that we do things based on luck; we believe in doing our imaginable best while we leave the best to God, you feel should never rest (sounds funny or harsh), let us try embrace the truth sometimes. Before applying for your visa, you are expected to know all requirements and makes sure you meet it: basically, focusing on f1: you should have a current admission, financial ability (available balance and assets that assures steady income), a statement of purpose that answer all necessary questions about you and your goals, reason for country, course, and school.
To summarize, once you have this, you can proceed to your application but that still does not mean you are qualified, until you “see yourself through the mirror”.

SEEING YOURSELF THROUGH THE MIRROR
When you look at yourself through that mirror, all you see is an image that reflects your physical structure, in contrast, when the image is broken, you see yourself in different point; the broken mirror picks and reflect the body part that faces it: when applying for your visa, you need to see yourself as that beast of a VO, who is looking for every slight opportunity to deny you, with this in mind:
1) You will not contradict yourself in your IMM form.
2) You will not fill your IMM form accurately and write something slightly different in your SOP.
3) You will not change your career path and never state it in your SOP
4) You will not submit an insufficient available balance, hoping for miracle.
5) Your CV will be identical with your IMM form.
6) You will not state unnecessary things that will raise eye ball while writing your SOP.
7) Your letter of intent will specifically explains your intention.
8 Your financial breakdown will not contradict your statement.
9) You will not make funny mistake that will question your already acquired degree certificate.
10) Your will not question your purpose of visit (depict immigration).
I have taken my time to provide this with the best of my knowledge, and from my perception about people’s cases and experience, and I hope you will learn from this write up. I am not a traveling agent, but a writing services provider. Notwithstanding, I consider this necessary to enlighten my fellow Nigerians.

Important but not compulsory. So many people have gotten their TRV without it, if you apply without it and CIC needs it they will ask you to go get it while your app is been processed

A friend of mine got his passport request on the 13th August after medicals passed. He submitted his passport at vfs on the same day. He is being sponsored by his uncle, this afternoon he got a call from his uncle who said he just got off the phone with someone who called from the Canadian embassy, and they called to confirm if he gave his nephew the bank statement he applied with and if he's gonna sponsor him through his studies. His uncle said it was a straight forward conversation and he confirmed everything.

I find It odd though, this is happening after passport request, I thought I should put it out here because this might be the cause of the delay for the other guys waiting

Experience is truly the best teacher, and my Canadian Sucess story made me believe the saying “EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING”!!! I know very well my story will motivate or strengthen some people never to give up in whatever that interests them, pursue it desperately like your life depends on it!! Yes I mean it.
Before I proceed, below is my timeline.

Online Application (2nd Application)
Submitted May 9th (10:57pm)
Upfront medicals passed on 11th June
Correspondence letter (today by 10:12am)
Original passport request (today by 10:32am)

This experience is my most difficult experience in life so far, I have always thought I can have anything I want in life but this Canada journey taught me that “Human beings can make any plans they want, but it’s God that decides their Sucess or failure”. I don’t even know where to begin from, but only God, Myself and @frankrobbn1 can tell my tragedy-comedy story.

So exactly a year today 20th June 2018, I submitted a paper route application and It was refused within 4weeks based on family ties, purpose of visit , personal assets and financial assets. Meanwhile, I have a Bsc in Biochemistry with overall CGPA 4.15 and last two year CGPA 4.71 , going for 2year diploma, paid tution fee $8,880cad.
when I received my refusal letter, I cried that very day like never before and till date my first refusal date 18th July,2018 still remains the worst day of my life, and the agent my parents used was just after money. After crying, knowing how bad i needed to leave this country I woke from my comfort zone and began my personal research, this was how I came across this wonderful forum and started reading up!

Through this wonderful platform I met an angel in human form, a motivator, my soulmate and my support system @frankrobbn1, may God bless you richly for me. Frank took his time to explain the errors in my application starting from advising me to secure a masters admission and that is nearly impossible to convince a VO on why diploma and not masters considering my high Gp, and secondly that my application is as empty as anything, I didn’t even submit my family’s information, no assets declared, no employment evidence and so on.

So I began my admission hunt and the devil started his work. Almost all the schools offering my course/ or related course requires a supervisor , and you know how difficult securing a supervisor can be. Some schools I contacted will tell me pump and play that I must identify a supervisor before applying while some will tell me to apply that they will assign me a supervisor once am admitted! I fell to their tricks and lost my application fee, I also tried contacting supervisors all kept turning me down. I kept sending countless mails to different supervisors in different universities all to no avail, some would always come up late with their negative mails of not having space in their lab while some will totally ignore me. I got feed up and I decided to stop sending mails but to call them on phone at least to get a straight forward response rather than waiting for their response that takes weeks and at the end must be negative. I made it as one of my daily activities to call at least 10 supervisors daily, and I did this for months!!! Even the ones that later accepted to supervise me though without funding just all of a sudden will deny even knowing me after I have submitted my application hoping I have secured a supervisor.

In general, I applied to 6 different universities in a space of 8months and all turned me down. I kept asking myself who did I offend? who is after my progress? Through this same wonderful forum I met a very nice fellow @agronat. Immediately he posted about him securing a masters admission with funding, i pm him to put me through, and that was how I realized the vital points/information missing out in my application and the reasons behind my refusals regardless of my high scores. And today am glad that my finally attempt landed me a full fulled scholarship worth $38,076CAD at BROCK UNIVERSITY ONTARIO , 2 years MSc in Biotechnology. Big thanks to @frankrobbn1 for recommending Brock University to me. I nearly craze that day (April 18th, 2019)!!! NB: the scholarship covers my tution and living expenses with extra left, I was also guaranteed a graduate assistantship position. Isn’t God great? This was when I realized that God was preparing something greater for me.

Fast forward to my visa application, guru @frankrobbn1 finished work.. I personally wrote my SOP and LOE, but when frank was done reviewing it I couldn’t recognize my LOE and SOP .. lol, he reconstructed it and was even using the VO’s terms to address every issue. He sold me well and also left the Change for the Visa officer to keep. I can’t thank you enough.., even after I submitted my visa application he took me to a church where I was given 4 days dry fasting and prayers (something I have never done in my life). I’m not the churchious type but this journey brought me closer to God and will forever remain grateful. I will be traveling to lagos next week to submit my passport and at the same time celebrate this wonderful journey that ended well. Seriously my sleep tonight will be very special after one year of dreaming of CANADA �� Lol, and to @justwise thanks for making this platform possible.

Even though I know my application is a little bit tight, I still handed it over to God because I have seen better applications refused, or the acceptance quota being reached as rumored on the forum,I said to God that they will bang the door when it’s my time to enter, I prayed against errors which can come from the VO leading to common refusals, lol, I prayed against bad mood on the head of the VO handling my application. Prayer is the Key.

I think the next step to take is to reapply for admission again if they have winter intake or look for other schools that does have winter intake for the same program that way if the visa application decision is favorable and another acceptance letter comes, then u can prepare for the winter start and update your DLI number if it's a different school.

Sorry about your visa refusal, you didn't state your previous course of study and the current admitted program. Is there a study progression? Is there any unexplained study gaps? Is your previous study related to your job?

Secondly he is self-employed, a freelancer and is yet to set up his business. What document will he submit as regards to this. Thanks

If he is not married, yes he can use his siblings and parent's birth certificate as social home ties.
for the freelance work, if he has any service request order from client, service charge receipt issue to client, service contracts signed either previous or on going, purchase receipts for equipments use for his work, local government tax receipts for either business premise or operations, etc. Having some of these documents in his name or business name will proof his employment status, potential career progression in I.T field, and can equally serve as economic home ties.
Business Not been registered with CAC does not stop him from using other legal documents to proof his claims.

Qudkom:
The VO raised 6 different reasons to why your application was refused. You need more tham just a letter of explanation to deal with your refusal. You have to reevaluate your application starting from proving your economic ties to Nigeria(I have a detailed post where I spoke about documents you can use to this effect).

The VO stated a poorly written study plan, which means you have to reconstruct a new sop.

P.s: I don't see why you need to rush another application. Economic ties alone is something to take your time on. You can always defer your admission and take your time to get the relevant informations you need.

An extract from my previous posts to prove your economic ties.

1. TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE: When last did you pay company tax. You write about how passionate you are about your country in your sop but can't provide a tax certificate. This single most important document proves to a vo you have a company that is well ingrained in Nigeria.

2. TIN registration: It is important to get a tax identification number and scan the letter confirming your TIN number in your application.
3. Car ownership certificate: yes scan the certificate showing you ownership of your vehicle. Most especially if you have a nice ride. This shows a VO that you are doing ok in Nigeria.

4. Work assets & Machineries: Perhaps you purchased an asset from china a few years back for your company and still have the receipt you can scan snd present it in a coherent way. You don't want to confuse a vo because the next thing is some generic refusal hence order gcms note.

5. Proof of past/future contracts: Have you executed some contracts in the past (1-5yrs) you can include this. If you also have some contracts coming up you can include proof.

6. Reference letters: You can have certified and verified companies you've worked with in the past write you reference letters to show your prudence.

7. Regulatory bodies Certificates : Every industry in Nigeria is regulated by a designated party. It is important to be certified by these bodies. Presenting proof of this certification will strengthen your application.

There need to be a change of direction and a heart of tolerance. We are already in page 31 and more than half of it is filled with avoidable arguments that someone could simply ignore or let it slide for peace sake. Pls let the gurus show some level of maturity so we can all learn better in a peaceful environment.
