The fool says there is no God. The ignorant one is placed in perpetual darkness, so he does not understand the things of the spirit. Some of you said, how come some CEOs, Rich men, Politicians, Artists etc are still successful even though they have a very promiscous lifestyle. This is why? Where is the source of the wealth, power and fame coming from? It is either from God or Devil. If you want to be successful in your endeavor or destiny through God. You will flee all forms of sexual temptation and immorality. Because God's blessing comes without sorrow(sickness, wickedness, untimely death, addiction to sex, drugs and alcohol etc). If your source is from the Devil, you are encouraged, lured and also forced to engage in sexual immorality and pervasion. In the spirit realm, sex is a spiritual transaction. Some occultic initiation requires the person to either sleep with prostitutes, mad woman etc. This is to transfer Demons into the person's soul. Once the transfer is done, they can then release what you requested for(Money, Power or Fame). The ignorant ones commenting here that how come some CEOs, Rich men, Politicians and Artists are still successful even though they live a promiscous lifestyle. The reason is the blessings of you ignorant ones that sleep with prostitues has been transfered into the prostitute, and the occultic rich man or politician is the beneficiary of your blessings. They sleep with prostitutes with full understanding of what they are doing while you sleep with them ignorantly thinking you are enjoying. They would continue to get richer while you continue to struggle. Does who have understanding let them hear what the spirit of the lord is saying. If you want blessings from God, you must flee from all sexual immorality. |
Truth be told, The Honda accords from 2013 model to the next one (2018) have clearly designed better cars compared with the Toyota Camry 2012 to 2018. It was a huge disappointment for users of 2007 -2011 model to see the next models not inspiring. It is just terrible. I have always been an Honda enthusiast but the 2007 Toyota Camry was an exception. I totally knocked out the Honda accord 2008, that just blew from a mid size to a full size with little to show for it. But from 2013, they improved especially when their next door neighbor decided to start taking bland design classes. And sell it to people all in the name of efficiency. Forgetting that this generation have no loyalty for mediocrity. They should ask Nokia and Blackberry. People will switch from Toyota to Honda in a bit especially people who are not planning to use a car for 10 years like Naija people who buy Toyota Corolla 2003 model for N2m. Life is short The Honda 2018 is the brother 2007 Toyota Camry wished he had. Not the bastard pikin they forced on him. For me design and efficiency comes first, but if pepper rest well I will go back to C-Class benz.

Is it a crime to be a dominant player in your industry? Is Indomie brand not a dominant player in the noodles industry? Is Always brand not dominant in the sanitary pad industry? Is Dangote cement not a dominant player in the cement industry? |
This clearly shows an x-ray of the average mind of a uniform personel. The uniform places them to be oppressive not to be compassionate. The act of killing a fellow human for a long time or as a profession can make people lose the importance of their profession as a soldier. Your main objective is to protect your citizens from threats. A uniform man or woman is to be loved and not feared. You are to be seen as heroes not vampires. Since we don't love each other as a country. Everyone acts without love for each other. What is wrong with a compliment "you are beautiful"? |
maestroferddi:We have also been watching our previous governments loot the treasury of unborn Nigerians for |
ACM10:What you are saying is arrant nonsense. The level of your crime determines the "dignity" a detainee should be given. Even in US if a police man comes to your house to arrest you for any crime you will be handcuffed. Lets stop allowing our politicians to see themselves as an elite, they are there to serve us. They are not different from you and I. If we have never protested the way a policeman treats "common man" with dignity we should not consider dignity for our politicians. So if Buhari as set the pace let incoming government follow suite. |
hotwax:I equally wonder why we have pity for Politicians who stealing our money. If a common thief steals, we are quick to do jungle justice without playing the tribal cards yet people are stealing what a whole generation would feed on we are here talking tribalism. |
banio:For years I also wonder if there is no standard in issuing bail conditions. Times past we have had people steal 700million naira and they are asked to pay a paltry amount of 750k naira as bail. So if 400million naira is made to pay 400million naira let it continue till we the citizens stop going into politics for nepotism and enriching our pockets. |
IVORY2009:Africa and Asia should be treated differently from US, UK etc. This two continents show selfish attitude towards humanity. Check all the inventors, noble prize winners. They are mostly not from this continents. The corruption and money stolen is barbaric in Africa. The only disaster we have is corruption, and we need to deal with it squarely. |
marlockj:You are certainly right. For so many years politicians have been looting this country. And in the past we have had a bunch of corrupt judges and lawyers. They have allowed alot of politicians to go scot free after stealing huge sum of money from our treasury. Nigerians have been the ones suffering it. It is so unfortunate that most Nigerians have not gone to a developed country and see the standard of living in these countries especially Oil producing countries. No matter the ill treatment EFCC and the present government does in the area of curbing corruption. I will support it. This will remove the "quick money" mentality of our politicians. It will allow honest and prudent people to show interest in politics. It will make friends and families warn prospective political aspirants that he or she should not steal government money, especially when whatever you steal is the equivalent of your bail. |
osaze123:It is important to consider what preceded this action. Dasuki was alleged to have stolen $2.1billion by EFCC and all through the interrogation process he had been corporative with EFCC that is why more arrest had been made. Meanwhile Olisa was alleged to have taken $400m from DASUKI. As pdp spokesman and politician he has consistently approached this whole issue as a political vendetta from Buhari, He has spoke several times that he was not going to corporate with EFCC, several placards had been carried weekly by his supporters. Dasuki never engaged in all this. So I believe the politicians have a way of intimidating each other with whatever tool at their disposal. So bury the BIAFRA issue at this is concern because it is not a tribal thing. It is more of a political tussle. |
APCsupporter:How will some group of people squander $2.1 billion meant to fight Boko Haram. Do you know a sane country like US that understands the security of personal data of its citizens will never give the responsibility to a bank or a telecoms company. So when you talk about security of life and properties, we have failed. If we talk of data security of our personal data we have failed completely by outsourcing this responsibility to companies. Let me ask. How many times did INEC register people before election? Did they not extend it for INEC? Was INEC fined for not meeting the deadline? How many times did the CBN extend BVN registration? Did they fine the banks? Are we saying that after MTN complete their registration there won't be any incident of bombings here and there? So my conclusion is that though MTN failed to meet the deadline, let us not throw all the problems of not solving BOKO HARAM on MTN. If you will fine them. Let the fine be in moderation. |
OohLalah:Lol...it makes people not to be objective. |
dammytosh:That is why in business. You have the right to go to court. If you remember few years ago. FRSC gave an ultimatum to car owners to change their license plates or their cars will be forfeited. It was an individual who took FRSC to court and he won. So even if you tell me to pay x amount, I have the right to challenge that amount in court. |
APCsupporter:It is not MTN who took this country for granted. #DASUKIGATE shows the world our we don't love each other as a country. |
nworanco:Don't argue without facts. No Company in the world has been fined at this ridiculous rate before. When a company is fined at a high rate the Government spreads the fine unlike NCC demanding payment within a month. February 2015 Qualcomm was fined $975million Qualcomm revenue is $25billion % Of fine to revenue is 4% Payment period more than 1yr November 2012 BP was fined $20billion BP revenue is $250billion % Of fine to revenue is 8% Payment period 18yrs 2013 Hyundai Motors fined $300million Hyundai revenue $210billion % Of fine to revenue is 0.14% 2015 MTN Nigeria fined $3.92billion MTN Nigeria revenue $4.9billion % Of fine to revenue is 78% Payment period 1month |
wolexf:You surely understand what ought to have been done in a sane society. It is completely an irresponsible action and negligence of responsibility from the part of government to outsource the national identification of its citizens to companies outside Federal Govt's parastatals. The banks and Telecommunication companies should be the ones linking up to our National Identification Security Numbers database not our government doing vice versa. But in the past they have done it several times and corrupt leaders have messed it up and no fine or arrest was done. |
dammytosh:Should unregistered lines be over emphasized than #Dasukigate, Corruption of our Service chiefs and leaders. I guess not. There is corruption in the land no doubt. An irresponsible father would not kill his child because he wants to correct the child. The fine is as high as the revenue you want as a Nation. That is way too high. |
lashane:I agree with you. The ripple effect is more than what the fine will bring to us as Nigerians. |
kcplay: |
mrsage:You are right, they had an agreement. That is why we need to Plead for MTN because we don't want any company to die at this phase of our economy. Like other countries where huge fines are stipulated on companies they don't ask them to pay within a month. BP was asked to pay for a period of 18years. Even though the effect of their spillage has a disastrous effect compared with the issue on MTN. |
ojun50:Hopefully. MTN would survive it. |
Pavore9:Click the link below to see their total revenue. https://www.mtn.com/Investors/FinancialReporting/Pages/AnnualResults.aspx |
NCC Measuring gauge We all have witnessed instances when you go to a particular fuel station, and you suspect that the amount of fuel sold to you is not proportional to the litres shown on your car dashboard fuel gauge. The possibility is that the fuel station is not using the right gauge to sell fuel to consumers. All over the world, there are instances where companies are been fined for one reason or the other. And the host country or regulator stipulates a fine as a penalty. Last year 2015, a US company Qualcomm(makers of chipsets) was fined $975million for antitrust issues. The company's revenue is over $25billion. The fine accounts for about 4% of their revenue. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-31335551 BP a US oil giant was fined a whooping sum of approx. $20billion for the oil spillage that occured 2010. The company's revenue is over $250billion. The fine accounts for about 8% of their revenue. And they are expected to pay within a period of 18yrs. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3147370/BP-pays-largest-settlement-history-2010-Gulf-oil-disaster.html Back in 2012, GlaxosmithKline was fined $3billion and the company's revenue stands at $35billion. The fine accounts for about 9% of their revenue. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2167742/GlaxoSmithKline-pay-3b-fine-pleading-guilty-healthcare-fraud.html I can go on and on to list out companies who have been fined in other countries. And remember the economy of these host countries are not nose-diving. The GDP of the countries are far higher than Nigeria. Moving forward let us consider the fine NCC has stipulated on MTN to pay for failing to shut down 5.1million lines. MTN Nigeria's revenue for 2014 was about $4.5billion. NCC initially gave a fine of $5.2billion which equates to 116% of their revenue. And NCC later reduced the fine to $3.9billion. The fine accounts to about 86% of their revenue. And they are expected to pay it within a month Where on Earth has this outrageous fine been issued? What measuring gauge is NCC using to dish out fines? Does it sound right if a road user beats traffic and LASTMA demands a fine of N30million? Does it sound justifiable if your child fails to do his homework and the child is expelled from school? I am not saying that MTN had not erred. I am of the opinion that the fine NCC is demanding for is not corrective but it is will bankrupt MTN. Consumers right (Law) Across board, I have heard people give reasons why MTN should pay the $3.9billion fine. And the major reason is because they have broken the law of the land. And other sentimental reasons attached to it is that we have a new government and we need to send the signal to foreign companies that business will not be as usual. And lastly can these foreign companies try what they do in Nigeria in their home country? I concur with the reasons but we as consumers need to sit down and know if truly our right as consumers is been taking into consideration by government parastatals and agencies (NCC, FRSC, NAFDAC, SON etc) Let me ask these questions. 1) Who is affected most when Shell spills oil in the rivers of Niger Delta area? When your call credit disappears without any explanation? When you open a beverage drink and you find an insect inside? 2) Do we the consumers get a compensation when the companies are been fined? 3) Do you know your right as a consumer? 4) Have you ever been giving the right to sue NCC, FRSC, NAFDAC etc or Companies when you are served poorly? 5) Has NCC considered us when he asked the telecoms to shut down our lines because of sim registration? In countries where these foreign companies emerge from. They fear the citizens of those country more, because they have the right to sue them on different reasons such as they missed their flight because the line was shut down, they lost businesses worth millions because their line was shut down, a child was traumatized because he could not communicate with his parents after closing from school etc 6) PHCN serves us estimated bills even though they never supplied power. Have you been able to sue PHCN? 7) Police discriminates and abuse our rights. Has the government giving us the right to sue Police for wrong doing? Some banks erred the deadline given by the government for the TSA. The fines where not outrageous. Are we aware of the present state of the economy? The bottom line is, when NCC receives the fine. Does it cater for all the complaints you have against MTN in the past? Has NCC created a platform for us as consumers to bear our complaints? How does NCC intend to distribute the fine in other to have a direct impact on we the consumers? Need for Diversification of the Economy Before the inception of the telecoms into Nigeria. The only vibrant sector of the economy were the Banking and Oil & Gas industries. It was a dream for new graduates to seek employment in these sectors of the economy. Other sectors where not active. The sports, entertainment, telecoms, small businesses, internet enabled industries etc. But at the entrance of the telecom companies. The sports sector became vibrant (Glo sponsored leagues, MTN Polo and golf sponsored tournaments), Entertainment (All telecom companies are actively involved), Internet and small businesses filled the effect of the telecom companies into Nigeria. The present state of our economy is nose diving because of the dwindling price of crude oil, which is our main source of revenue. Would it not be smart of us to allow other sectors to grow? Previous administrations had always chorused " We need to diversify". The telecoms contributed 4% - 8% of our GDP. Is it not wise for us to support and see more growth in that sector? Don't you think that the agric sector's growth in the rural area can be facilitated with penetration of phone communication and internet? Our diversification motto solely leverages on the telecom industry. Lets have a rethink on MTN's fine. Business challenges in Nigeria Nigeria is a fertile place to create a lucrative business, Nigeria's population, needs and lifestyle demands gives every prospecting investor the push to start a business in Nigeria. Yet we all know that the peculiar challenges faced in running a business in Nigeria is colossal. Lack of Infrastructure, Corruption, Lawlessness has been the order of the day. Having an MBA from Harvard Business School is not enough to successfully run a thriving business in Nigeria. If we keep saying that can foreign companies try what they are doing here in Nigeria in their home country, Let us ask also do they face issues of lack of infrastructure, corruption to get your papers signed, delay in getting papers signed, destruction of masts, stealing of cables, destruction of gas pipelines etc in their home countries? So if you see any company still excelling in Nigeria after 5 years you should not totally kill the company. Our power sector is in a state of comatose and we are begging the government to fix it. Yet the government is totally relying on foreign investors to risk investing in Nigeria and fix the power sector. Should they fix the power sector and in few years to come we are enjoying stable power supply. And one of the companies falls into this state where MTN is at the moment. Is it fair to allow the same government kill the company with an outrageous fine? No true entrepreneur would love to see this happen. Let us rise together and put aside sentiments, Let us plead with the government to allow businesses thrive in Nigeria. Demanding for 86% of MTN's revenue as fine is damn too much. We are true Giants of Africa Our National anthem goes by "Arise O Compatriots..." If we truly understand the pledge and anthem we have recited several times as Nigerians. You would understand that we are too stand tall as giants in every area of our endeavor. In the area of sports, entertainment, business etc. Let us cast away sentiments that discriminate against foreign investments. Let us shy away from xenophobic attitudes. Dangote for example is the richest man in Africa and he has is investments spread across Africa. Let us export true virtues of a giant. Let us stop been myopic as youths. We should be thinking beyond setting up a thriving business in Nigeria, As true giants of Africa. Africa should be a home to us wherever we are as Nigerians. The Americans are giant of the world today because they accommodate and tolerate other nations. The are willing to fight injustice irrespective of the color, religion, gender of the victim. It is a new year and new dawn for us to think differently. No company should be grounded at this present state of our economy. Cc: lalasticlala |
