bigfrancis21: First of all, you are doing very well already in Nigeria and you have no reason at all to leave Nigeria. You have a good job + investment properties (buildings) which you own. Investing in business is preferable in Nigeria than in US or Canada (about 90% of start-ups fail in the US), high taxation (at least 35% of your profits) and there are more profit returns on investment in Nigeria than in US/Canada. When you come here, life starts afresh for you. You will discover that your foreign (Nigerian) degrees and experience are totally nothing and they don't count here and you will have to go to school for about the next 2 years (during which you will have to make-do with meagre, low-paying jobs to survive). On average, it will take you about 5 years
After going to school and getting a job, you will live an average life here in Canada, nothing exceptional or more than that. A great part of your salary will go into heavy taxes (imagine earning $5000 a month and $1200 goes to taxes leaving you with $3,800), bills (mortgage, light, water, gas, phone bills e.t.c), leaving you with just enough to survive and nothing extra. You see jobs, you will find them aplenty here but you will not be left with much as most will go into taxes and bills. The average US/Canadian works to pay bills and it is an endless cycle. Several Nigerians are returning home to invest.
To be honest, life in Nigeria is better financially if you have a good job and several investments. Gbam gbam!! |

Are you migrating on PR visa or student's visa? If on PR visa, u may qualify for some pay from govt when u give birth. No govt pay for u on student visa and u will be required to leave on completion. What type of qualifications do you have? ACCA or ICAN ACA? If ICAN ACA, get ready to go back to school because Canada does not recognize ICAN. Do u have HND of Bsc? Also get ready to go back to school.
If u have a good job in Nigeria, I will advise you stay back. Chances are that you can make it in Nigeria more than in Canada. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did It Take 2,000 Years For The Gospel To Reach Nigeria? by kcsider: 8:57am On Dec 28, 2014 |
Promhize: It is funny, we Nigerians refuse to think logically.
I grew up in a very religious family with extremely religious neighbours. The kind of family that never misses 6:00am prayers for years, My dad is a Pastor, my mum a women leader in church, but that has not stopped from realizing the Bible is flawed.
I have always had this inkling that the Bible was written by brilliant, genius 'sociologists' - even though sociology wasn't founded then, the purpose and reason would basically the same. I mean with the works of the likes of Aristotle, socratis and Co, I believe they could have written such a masterpiece.
The part I now hate the most is "God is not a God of confuaion". I mean going by the Bible, this God has confusion written all over him: he created us black and white, gave us different languages, made the garden of eden and put the forbidden tree in it.
Everything that seems right in the Bible are things within "their" immediate environment, anytime 'they' attempt to go beyond 'this', they are flawed. Not at all! GOD is not an author of confusion. HE has given you freewill to make choices. If you fail in your choices, you will bear the blame not GOD |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did It Take 2,000 Years For The Gospel To Reach Nigeria? by kcsider: 8:41am On Dec 28, 2014 |
julimax: why will God himself, all powerful be waiting for humans to spread his ideas amongst themselves? Is he competing with other religions on who spreads faster? God has given man the freewill to make decisions and choices . So man is free to choose which camp to belong. That is why you are here today asking questions! God will not force you to serve HIM but you must give account of those choices you made on the judgment day. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Did It Take 2,000 Years For The Gospel To Reach Nigeria? by kcsider: 8:14am On Dec 28, 2014 |
It baffles me how humans are trying to unravel the mystery surrounding GOD. People who don't understand the ways of the spirit should stop giving it the interpretation of mortals! GOD is OMNI POTENT, OMNI SCIENT and OMNI PRESENT! HE has established rules and cannot change because a Nigerian does not believe in HIM. In the bible days, the people that built the tower of babel had the same mindset as the OP. We all knew what happened to them and their mindset!
There are things beyond human comprehension and the OP and his sympathizers will need spiritual intervention to be able to understand it. Coming to the OP's questions, a million years in the mortal realm is like a flash in the spiritual realm and every occurrence is predetermined according to GOD's purpose not op's purposes!
Has op taken time to ask why electricity got to Nigeria when it did. There is always a beginning, a progression and an end to everything. Why did ancient civilization start in Egypt? Why not in Germany or Nigeria? Why do the earth revolve round the sun and not the other way round? Why was op born in Nigeria and not in Ghana?
That op does not believe in GOD does not change the fact of HIS DIVINE existence! So op and group, make a conscious effort to be human and allow GOD to be GOD. you can not understand HIS ways because you are not inspired by the Holy Spirit which is a required ingredient! And unless you submit yourself you can not have that inspiration!
Op be guided! |
