G0odharddick: And so I decided to travel to Igbanke along with my colleague in Edo state. I never knew there's a tribe in Edo state that speaks Igbo even though I have been hearing it for ages.
My first experience on getting to Igbanke, Olomua precisely, was getting bush meat at a local bar and I ate to my satisfaction, after which i proceeded with my journey. I noticed at first their king previously answers "Enogie" to his name, the king of Olomua is HRH Edobor. I was told he has changed it to an Igbo title "Eze or obi" (I couldn't verify this)
Before we got to Olomua, we passed another village of which I cannot remember the name. I decided to interact with the people and I was shocked to discover that they do not only speak Igbo but also bear Igbo names. A man I interacted with introduced himself as "Ijeoma" . He spoke Igbo perfectly well and kept asking me if I understood what he was saying.
I became curious and asked him how did the Igbanke people found themselves in Edo state because the Bini, Esans, Auchi, Igarra's language and customs are completely different from the Igbankes. The man said that the Igbankes' are originally from IKA (in Delta) that they were divided during the slave trade and particularly the civil war Saga made them fled and also state creation during IBB massively separated them from their ancestry roots. It also worthy to note that the IKA people too are all Igbo people who migrated from either Anambra or igbo neighbouring states.
Igbanke is a small community comprising of 5 villages that came together to established their settlement. It'll interest you to know that Samuel Ogbemudia is from Igbanke
That Biafra nation una dey dream will never come. 😜
BlackViper: The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has stirred controversy after declaring that Western education is merely a "formality" stating that formal schooling is not a requirement for success in life.
The governor made the statement during a public address to farmers and artisans in Bauchi, urging young people to adopt discipline and avoid self-destructive habits. The speech was captured in a video shared on Instagram by Bashir Usman and seen by SaharaReporters.
“Try to be focused and turn a new leaf. Stop drinking and stop taking what will destroy your brain,” Governor Mohammed said.
He explained that many successful individuals began their journeys in humble professions, such as truck driving, and did not rely on formal schooling to become prosperous.
"Today, Bala did not go to school but he became somebody," he told the crowd, referring to himself in the third person.
"Take care of your behaviour. Western education is a formality, but if you have Qur'anic education, you have knowledge of what it takes and you've helped yourself in knowing what you want, especially in farming — that is education."
He further stated that the value of informal and religious education, particularly Qur’anic learning, which he claimed provides practical knowledge needed for farming and other trades.
Governor Mohammed also highlighted the importance of blue-collar jobs, especially in transportation, as a pathway to wealth.
"Any rich person you see today started from driving. From the onset, it is a job that brings prosperity. All the rich people you see today started as drivers of trailers. Don’t overlook self-trading jobs. I don’t know anyone who got rich from car washing, but drivers did."
The governor’s remarks have drawn mixed reactions online, with some critics accusing him of downplaying the importance of formal education in a state and country still struggling with literacy challenges and educational access.
Igirigimercenar: Sowore is right on this one, just like Kenneth okonkwo stated the other time, peter obi is too weak and dull to lead the hungry and angry Nigerian youths yearning for a new Nigeria. He only opposes the Nigerian government on his Twitter handle, same as Atiku, they are all weaklings
When tinubu was in the opposition,we all saw the kind of street protest he orchestrated, But obi is busy doing gentle man politics in country of brutes and corrupt politicians
Very soon he will loose the little support those of us hungry for a new Nigeria has for him, left for me, Sowore and VDM should be the face of the struggle for a new Nigeria. Peter obi is weak. Igbos are not known to be that weak
5gey want easy food that will be handed over to them piece meal😜
UHLmoving: As we have fought and achieved the release of VDM
All Africans, Freedom fighters and lovers of freedom must speak with one voice until Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is released.
If you support Ibrahim Traore, then you must love and supports Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because they both stood against European Imperialism and pursue Freedom for Africa.
ArcSEMPECJ: Igbos don't hide feelings or live like a hypocrite , if they feel you didn't do well in a sector ,you will see the person voicing it out, that's his or her own analogy about your government and you should applaud them and emulate it from them ...
Can you say so about Tinubu as a Governor in Lagos State?
Was he not a failure as well?....YES or NO??!
And besides nobody said Obi didn't do anything, whoever says so is an anty party member and is natural just like you will never agree that TINUBU was a failure as a Governor in Lagos State rather you will say he is the one that divided Atlantic Ocean for Yoruba people to pass and enter Eko Atlantic....as developers of Lagos State...
You see how funny it goes, if you can come to Anambra State and do your evaluation of the works of Peter Obi, then it will save you from dangerous voices against Peter Obi....
Meanwhile how is your god fatherism treating you in South West where one man is lording over millions of men with integrity ...or has the integrity flew awayPeter Obi stopped it in Anambra State when Power drunk politicians held Anambra to nothing...come and see the wonders happening in Anambra State as of today ..
I can see you are a semi literate person, it's pointless engaging people like you. No matter what the glaring evidences are you will keep rambling☹️
ArcSEMPECJ: Whatever past and present Governors of Anambra State after him are doing now is his blue print....
So go and verify what Governors after him are doing, he pioneered all...
Why then are all of them saying the same thing from obiano till present government that obi did nothing. You cant fool people all the time you know? Besides why are there none of his former cabinet members while he was governor praising him now☹️
ArcSEMPECJ: Keep quiet, each Governor has a blue print and that Government house building including this iconic tower has been on the Master Plan, he started the construction of the new Government house but couldn't finish the massive project, thanks to Soludo who came and completed it....
Anambra is for continuity just as Lagos State from the time of Asiwaju as there was no other Government before his own, started Lagos State from scratch to how it is now....
GistMedia0: A disturbing video has surfaced online showing two Nigerian police officers dragging a young man out of a car and subjecting him to a severe beating. The footage, reportedly captured by a nearby motorist, has quickly gone viral and sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms.
In the video, the victim can be heard screaming, "What did I do?" as the officers repeatedly hit him with a gun and slapped him mercilessly. Another voice in the background can be heard saying, "They searched our cars and found nothing!"—suggesting that the assault may have followed an unprovoked search.
Although the exact location and time of the incident remain unclear, the brutality displayed in the video has reignited public anger over the growing trend of police misconduct in Nigeria. Many citizens are now calling on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to urgently investigate the incident and address the alarming rise in police brutality nationwide.

Botragelad: Haha. Now it’s time for the ‘genocide’ whingers to start crying. Just hours ago, the pro-Hamas lot were cheering when a Houthi missile got near an Israeli airport, well, now they can watch as their Houthi ports go up in flames.
You were warned, again and again, not to mess with Israel. This is what happens, and there’s more coming. Israel will wipe out Hamas and every other Islamist terror group, and no one can stop it. Enjoy.. Am yisrael chai🇮🇱!
Israel need to be more brutal with these animals☹️

Dobnews: A wave of outrage has hit Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) following reports linking the financial institution to the controversial arrest of outspoken social media activist, VeryDarkMan. According to emerging data from social media trends and whistleblower accounts, over 100,000 Nigerians have allegedly deleted or deactivated their GTBank accounts in protest, while more than 20,000 angry customers reportedly flooded the bank’s customer service lines with heated complaints.
The backlash stems from widespread allegations that GTBank may have cooperated with authorities in facilitating the arrest of VeryDarkMan a popular critic known for his fearless exposés on corruption, abuse, and social injustice.
Although GTBank has yet to release an official statement on the matter, furious Nigerians have taken to X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram to vent their anger, accusing the bank of being complicit in silencing a voice of truth.
One trending hashtag, #BoycottGTBank, has gained massive traction, with users sharing screenshots of closed accounts and urging others to move their funds to alternative banks. Many claim they will not support any institution involved in suppressing free speech.
Meanwhile, GTBank’s customer service lines have reportedly been overwhelmed by irate callers, some using what insiders described as “fire words” a term trending online to describe the fierce, unapologetic tone Nigerians have adopted in their protest.
As pressure mounts on GTBank to clear its name, legal experts and civil rights activists are calling for transparency from both the bank and the EFCC to clarify their roles in VeryDarkMan’s arrest.
