Travel › Re: Air Peace, United Nigeria Fix Yuletide Ticket Prices For Anambra, Others. by Kdon2: 8:17am On Aug 24, 2025
AnambraPeople:
Air Peace, United Nigeria Fix Yuletide Ticket Prices For Anambra, Others.

Two of Nigeria’s major domestic airlines, Air Peace Airlines and United Nigeria Airlines, have fixed their yuletide one-way economy tickets from Lagos and Abuja to the South East and South South at N350,500.

The affected routes include flights to Owerri, Enugu, Anambra, Port Harcourt, and Asaba, with inbound trips from these airports to Lagos and Abuja also priced at the same fare. The new rates are already displayed on the airlines’ official booking platforms.

The yuletide period typically witnesses a surge in passenger traffic, especially on eastern and southern routes, often leading to sharp increases in airfares.

For Air Peace, the N350,500 fare will apply from December 1, 2025 through January 30, 2026, while United Nigeria’s fare of N350,500 begins from December 11, 2025 and runs until the end of December. However, from January 1, 2026, United Nigeria will reduce its one-way fares on some routes, including Abuja to Asaba, Anambra, Port Harcourt, and Owerri, to N150,000.

Comparatively, fares charged to northern destinations during the yuletide appear lower. For instance, Air Peace tickets on the Lagos–Kano route are priced around N106,900, though a few days reflect a spike to N350,500. United Nigeria has set its Lagos–Kano fare at N220,499.

Air Peace will also charge N350,500 on days it operates flights from Lagos to Yola, up from its regular N240,200, while inbound passengers from Yola to Lagos will pay the same yuletide fare. On the Lagos–Sokoto route, United Nigeria has pegged its tickets at N250,000, compared to the usual N175,500.

Other domestic carriers have also adjusted their yuletide prices. Ibom Air set its Lagos–Uyo ticket at N190,800 from December 1, up from N152,700. Similarly, Arik Air has fixed its Lagos–Port Harcourt tickets at N191,997 between December 10 and December 28, after which the fare drops to N140,617.

Politics › Re: See The Tribe That Truly Own Warri Not Itsekiri!! by Kdon2: 2:40pm On Aug 23, 2025
LordofWarri:
Part 13 of the Itsekiri History

Warri is an Ijaw Word, Not “Iwerre” Neither an Itsekiri word

The name Warri itself tells the story. According to Prof. E. J. Alagoa, renowned Niger Delta historian, Warri is derived from the Ijaw words ware or wari, meaning settlement, dwelling or house. It was the hardness of the pronunciation by early Europeans that transformed ware/wari into Warri.

This is clear proof that the name is Ijaw in origin, not Itsekiri. The attempt to rebrand it as “Iwerre” is a late propaganda, unsupported by history or linguistics. When the Portuguese and Dutch traders first anchored in the 15th and 16th centuries, they met Ijaw communities and it was the Ijaw word they recorded.

Thus, even the very name of the land exposes the falsehood of Itsekiri ownership. The Olu may wear a crown, but the land he claims carries an Ijaw name older than his dynasty.

Warri is Ijaw in word, in memory and in truth, no distortion can erase that.

👉 @General Ditari
Very weak. Itshekiri owns warri you cant change that fact.

Datti is more consistent than Obi and I pray he gets recognized in the future.

Obi is very inconsistent and criticize without providing solutions but wants to be voted for him to provide solutions. How can that even happen?

The ADC isn't even a problem to me.... I believe the people that formed the coalition are confused and they all want one thing....to be president.

Who will step down to support the other?
That's where Tinubu stands out. He knows when to step back and when to charge head long. ADC has no solution to Nigeria problem. All of them are just greedy lots. Datti is even more promising as a leader than Peter Obi. Obi is just going for agenda sake. Learnt he has agreed to be vice president to Atiku again.

Obi’s Son vs Tinubu’s Son: Nigerians React to Explosive Videos!

Nigerians are buzzing after two powerful videos hit social media!
Peter Obi’s son, Oseloka Obi, spoke out against lies and false rumors, insisting he has no political ambition. On the other hand, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, boldly declared his father as “the greatest president in Nigeria’s history.”

The contrast between humility and pride has set social media on fire, with Nigerians praising Obi’s son while debating Seyi Tinubu’s controversial remarks.

In this video, we break down:

malali:
The first world loves to lecture. They fly around the globe holding human rights banners high, wagging fingers at “backward nations,” dictating what democracy should look like. But peel away the glossy rhetoric and the mask falls: the same countries that preach freedom are often the most ruthless in crushing dissent when it threatens their narrative.

Take the illusion of free speech online. Instagram and Facebook , dressed up as “social” networks , are in reality some of the most anti-social algorithms ever engineered. Say something outside the approved script, and watch the silent hammer fall. Shadow bans bury your words under digital quicksand. You don’t see your replies. You don’t see who’s engaging with you. You are not silenced outright — you are isolated. A punishment more subtle than prison, because it convinces you that nobody cares.

This is not an accident, nor is it Mark Zuckerberg’s lone hand tweaking knobs in Menlo Park. It is systemic. Silicon Valley oligarchs are functionaries in a wider architecture of control. Once your visibility rises to the point where it unsettles the powers that be, the penalties escalate: friend limits, comment restrictions, account suspensions. And yet these are the same nations that force visa applicants to submit five years of their social media history under the banner of “security.” How is that compatible with free expression? The irony is grotesque: you are free to speak only if your speech is irrelevant.

Meanwhile, platforms like Nairaland, though smaller in reach, display a kind of raw liberalism absent in Silicon Valley’s gleaming towers. Yes, you may face a thirty-minute suspension for a breach. But that’s a slap on the wrist, not an algorithmic lobotomy. Compare that to Facebook or Instagram, where once the system puts you in the crosshairs, you are digitally exiled.

This raises a deeper question: do we really have democracy anywhere? A choice between two pre-approved candidates , financed, marketed, and handpicked by the same elite , is not democracy, it’s curated theater. Nigerians must not swallow every Western prescription blindly. The so-called first world’s democracy is increasingly indistinguishable from an elaborate simulation.

Look at China. No elections in the Western sense, no democracy, no pretenses. Yet in fifty years, China leaped from a developing backwater to a formidable global power, transforming into a technological and industrial titan. Contrast that with Libya, torn apart under the banner of “freedom.” Gaddafi’s iron-fisted rule may not have resembled a Jeffersonian republic, but Libya was more stable, more prosperous, and more functional under him than under the Western-imposed “democracy” that followed.

The hypocrisy is glaring: freedom for them when it serves their interests, chains for you when it doesn’t. It is time we stopped measuring our progress by Western yardsticks. Democracy, in its exported form, is not a universal solvent. Sometimes, stability, sovereignty, and cultural coherence achieve more than imported ballot boxes and foreign-scripted constitutions.
My advice to the writer of this post is for him to relocate to China and experience their form of governance then compare. This distant view is not really acurate. Why are everyone running to the same space that the authoue condemn so vigorously? Food for thought ☹️

Culture › Re: In Yorubaland, Money Has Never Been Foremost In Yoruba Value System by Kdon2: 7:58pm On Aug 21, 2025
tunde1200:
*In Yorubaland, money has never been foremost in Yoruba value system*

*In our value system money is number six*

*What are the first five you may ask?*

1. The first is *Laakaye*- The application of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding........*(Ogbon ati imo oye)*

2. The second is *Iwa Omoluabi*- (integrity) Someone with integrity is a man/woman of their words.
If you have all the wealth in the world but lack integrity, you are not worth a thing. Integrity is combined with *Iwa* (character) which we regard as *Omoluabi*

3. The third is *Akinkanju tabi Akin*-(Valour)
That is why *Balogun is second -in-command to the leaders in Yoruba land.
Balogun are people that can lead them to war.
To lead with great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle.
Yoruba people have no respect for cowards.

4. The fourth is *Aniselapa ti kiise ole* (Having a visible means of livelihood)
A person must be identified with a visible means of livelihood that guarantees a lawful income or sustenance. His or her profession or job must be open and legally approved by society, and not through cheating or forcefulness.

5. The fifth is *IYI*-(Honour) Yoruba people place a premium on the gait with which individuals carry themselves and public reputation.
That is why Yoruba people usually say when you set out to look for money and you meet honour on the way then you don't need the journey anymore, because if you get the money, you will still use it to buy honour.

6. The last in the Yoruba value system is *OWO TABI ORO*-(Money wealth).
If you putting money ahead of the other five, then you are nobody in Yoruba land of the olden days.

Unfortunately, this is being pushed to the front burner nowadays due to the erosion of our value system.

*Please share with fellow Yoruba Sons and Daughters.*
That's us. Integrity before money follow by hausa. But now Ibo has corrupted every part of Nigeria with their culture of money first before integrity. Yet they have the temerity to abuse everyone.
