umarnuhu1900: The legal team representing Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has served the leadership of the National Assembly with a certified true copy of the Federal High Court judgment mandating her immediate recall to the Senate. In a strongly worded letter dated July 1, 2025, the lawyers also declared that the senator will resume her legislative duties on Tuesday, July 15, in line with the directive of the presiding judge, Justice B.F.M. Nyako.
The court judgment, delivered on July 4, 2025, ruled that the senator’s six-month suspension by the Senate was unlawful, excessive, and a clear violation of her constitutional right to represent her constituents. The court held that the action contravened Section 63 of the 1999 Constitution and flouted the Senate Standing Orders, which limit such suspensions to just 14 days.
Acting through the law firm M.J. Numa & Partners, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal team emphasized that the judgment is binding under Section 318 of the Constitution and called on the Clerk of the National Assembly to act swiftly and facilitate her return to the red chamber without further delay.
“In consequence, Her Lordship directed that the Senate has the power and indeed should exercise that power to recall Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and allow her to resume representation of the constituents who duly elected her,” the letter stated.
Justice Nyako dismissed the legality of the extended suspension and affirmed that the relevant provisions of the Senate Standing Orders, particularly Order 66(4) of the 2023 edition, override the Legislative Houses (Powers & Privileges) Act when it comes to internal disciplinary procedures.
The judge further described the 180-day suspension—equivalent to a full legislative session—as an overreach of parliamentary power and a calculated disruption of the senator’s constitutional mandate.
Reiterating the urgency of the matter, the legal team warned against any attempt to defy the court’s authority, stressing in their communication that “nature abhors a vacuum” and that the constituents of Kogi Central must not remain unrepresented.
With the judgment and letter now formally served, pressure is mounting on the Senate leadership to comply. Legal and political analysts say the case could set a precedent for curbing legislative overreach and reinforcing judicial oversight in the protection of democratic mandates.
ogugwa1992: Aregbesola’s Dream to Dethrone APC Is Dead on Arrival – Yari Renaissance Movement
A strong loyalist of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chairman of the Yari Renaissance Movement for Tinubu 2027, Kabir Ali Danbaba, has sharply criticised former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for leading a coalition aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Danbaba, in a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, described Aregbesola’s recent remarks in Akure—where he revealed the ambition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to dislodge the APC from power—as “delusional,” “ungrateful,” and “an affront to history and loyalty.”
Aregbesola, now the National Secretary of the ADC, had urged opposition forces to unite under a single platform, stating that unity remains the only viable path to defeating President Tinubu in the 2027 polls. “Let us put personal interests aside and unite… With unity, we cannot be defeated,” Aregbesola said at a stakeholder meeting in Ondo State.
But Danbaba, in response, questioned the political credibility and moral standing of the former minister to lead any meaningful opposition, especially against a man he credited with Aregbesola’s political rise. He referenced Tinubu’s past support for Aregbesola—appointing him Commissioner for Works in Lagos, backing his governorship bid in Osun, and supporting his administration through legal and political hurdles—as examples of profound political generosity.
“To sit back with a few disgruntled elements and propound the impossible is the height of deceit by the ADC leadership,” Danbaba declared. “President Tinubu will not only return in 2027, he will be a major force in the emergence of his successor. The ADC, if it still exists by then, will merely watch helplessly.”
Danbaba accused Aregbesola of “repaying good with evil,” adding that even if Tinubu chooses to overlook the betrayal, “his eleda (divine guardian) will not.”
He concluded with a warning that any political movement built on envy and ingratitude will be doomed from inception. “This movement against your benefactor is moribund at birth,” Danbaba said. “You can continue to dream big, but posterity is marking you down for a deserving comeuppance. It’s only a matter of time.”
giftson102: VP Kashim Shettima is moving against Tinubu too early...He should tarry a while and see how the political climate pans out.
Yes he's aware he is not going to be retained as VP but it's dangerous coming out all gun blazing against your boss...
At that book launch, he mocked Tinubu three times. One, the President has no power to remove a governor, not even a councillor (Fubara's case).
Two, referring to the Kogi Deputy Governor as "bloody deputy..." a veil attack on Tinubu and how he is being referred to and treated...
Three, he called Nasir El-Rufai, the arrow head of the coalition to remove your boss, "the game changer" not even "a game changer." That is a direct attack on Tinubu too, that you may downplay El-Rufai's role but that's just for your convenience. He also said you can't wish El-Rufai away! That cuts deeply...
News across the North is that, Tinubu will remove Shettima. Two, the North is ready to give it to a Southern candidate and allow him do two terms. Three, plans are on to ensure no one rig the election.
So it's down to the southern candidate if he would be able to match Tinubu in the South-South and South-East. Up North, they are sure they will stop Tinubu's rigging machine. But down south?
Today in Kaduna, they inaugurated a strong team to galvanise the North. But in the South, no southern group has emerged to lead the coalition.
The North is always ahead.
So for Shettima, it's war already. "I'm losing out, so let's all lose". But it's too early to let your master know your strategy...
ChemmyNaija: From Beneficiary to Betrayer: Aregbesola and the Politics of Convenient Amnesia
By Kabir Ali Danbaba Chairman, Yari Renaissance Movement for Tinubu 2027
There are moments in Nigeria’s political history that shock even the most cynical observers. The recent pronouncement by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola — former Governor of Osun State, ex-Minister of Interior, and now self-styled revolutionary — is one such moment. Addressing stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Akure, Aregbesola boldly declared his party’s intent to build a coalition aimed at defeating President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
To the casual observer, this might pass as an ordinary opposition rhetoric. But to those who know the backstory — the real political and personal history between Tinubu and Aregbesola — it is nothing short of a betrayal of monumental proportions.
Let’s put things in perspective. Rauf Aregbesola was not a political force before Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It was Tinubu who discovered him, appointed him as Commissioner for Works in Lagos, and made him a central figure in the Lagos developmental blueprint. When Aregbesola nursed gubernatorial ambition in Osun, it was Tinubu who backed him with everything — from political intelligence to legal firepower. The battle for Osun State’s liberation was long, tough, and costly. Yet Tinubu stood by him till the dream became reality.
And it did not end there. Even as governor, Aregbesola enjoyed more latitude than most of Tinubu’s mentees. His government in Osun was financed and stabilized, often behind the scenes, by the same Tinubu he now seeks to remove from office. Aregbesola was not only supported but shielded — often at the expense of Tinubu’s own political standing with other loyalists.
But here we are in 2025, with Aregbesola now leading a so-called "progressive" coalition against his own political father. It is not just betrayal — it is a calculated act of treachery built on a foundation of envy, resentment, and a deluded sense of self-importance.
If Aregbesola feels emboldened today, it is not because he has built anything substantial. It is because he is standing on the shoulders of a giant and mistaking that height for his own strength. And like all who forget their roots, he is bound to fall — hard.
The people of Nigeria are not fools. They can see through the theatrics. The ADC may issue statements, call press conferences, and make declarations — but the truth is that they lack the structure, the message, the capacity, and the national goodwill that President Tinubu enjoys.
The 2027 election will not be about noise. It will be about leadership, performance, and loyalty. On all three fronts, Tinubu has proven himself. And no amount of betrayal, even from his closest allies-turned-foes, can erase that.
History has a long memory, and it is already writing Aregbesola’s chapter. Unfortunately for him, it won’t be a flattering one.
He is an igbira religious fanatics What do people expect? ☹️
They are the people who destroyed Nigerian high institutions with this useless entities and they are still the people who will shout first as it has lost control.
What a hypocritical people?
What a race?

christejames: It's obvious Shettima is with the opposition
Tinubu already has a mole within
Certainly, northerners are good at being a mole everywhere you find them especially among externals. They will boldly and comfortably betray you without bating an eye
Igbophobia: It's hard to say but based on the principles of induction, it is not a far-fetched proposition. I like the way the man has started talking ....
He certainly will no doubt.

The priests call on the international and ecclesial community to send field missions to document the damage and the worsening situation.
Violence by Jewish settlers in Palestine has now also struck the residents of Taibeh, the only entirely Christian Palestinian village. Taibeh is the ancient Ephraim, the location mentioned in the Gospel of John where Jesus took refuge after the resurrection of Lazarus (Jn 11:54), and where the Christian community has extremely ancient roots. The village is home to three churches—Latin, Greek Orthodox, and Melkite—

Mabuggi88: That means you may not leave to see him became the president. I wish you long life though so that you will use mouth to retract all your bad words against Peter Obi. You will definitely live to that. Peter Obi is already president
He will never become Nigeria president. That's a fact. Make him president of south east if you love am so much
Yesterday in church, Wike climbed the pulpit and accused Peter Obi of not organizing Local Government election for 8 years as a governor.
Well, that accusation has now been confirmed as false as indicated by this throwback video from Channels Television, Obi can be seen here swearing in 20 elected Chairmen of the 20 Local Governments in Anambra State.
Again, they have nothing on Obi that’s why they always resort to outright lies.
Election he failed to conduct untill 3 months to the end of 8 years tenure.

EmpressF0911: Some members of the Obedients movement have threatened to boycott the 2027 elections or even vote against the ADC if the coalition settles for Atiku Abubakar instead of Obi as the flag bearer in the elections.
Obi or nothing is currently trending worldwide on all social media platforms.
Atiku will never agree. His chances are diminishing every day. He knows he can't be vice president again because he has served his due under Obasanjo. The only position left is to be president which he is losing as the days goes by. Besides he doesn't trust obi to do one term ( obj has taught him a lesson on that) He can only contest now or be forced to eat the humble pie. Another trap in the mix is, if obi is given a one term tenure he will get there and tell Nigerians 4 years is not enough to fix Nigeria! Considering that Nigerian politicians are shameless, so it's left for Nigerians to choose as they seem best. It's all deliberate scam😂
