The atrocities committed by Nigerian soldiers, as highlighted in Fela Anikulapo-Kuti's 'Unknown Soldier,' are a painful reminder of Nigeria's dark past. The trigger-happy soldiers have indeed rendered many children orphans, and their actions have left deep scars. To add salt to injury, I watched in dismay as those who claim to be champions of democracy fraternized the most anti-democratic human being this nation has ever seen, General Ibrahim Babangida, at the launch of his book. This man perpetrated heinous crimes against the Nigerian people.

Are we to talk about the assasination of Dele Giwa? Or the execusion of Mamman Vasta? A former ally turned perceived enemy. The list is endless.

With all due respect to the Abiola family, June 12 was not just about MKO Abiola; it represented the collective aspirations of Nigerians seeking freedom from tyranny. It embodies the hopes and dreams of a generation yearning for democracy, justice, and a better life. It was about teenagers like me who weren't eligible to vote but saw the excitement on our parents' faces at the mention of hope 93.

Reducing the struggle to a single individual diminishes the sacrifices made by countless Nigerians. Furthermore, apologizing solely to the Abiola family ignores the widespread suffering endured by thousands of families across the country.

The aftermath of the annulment saw professional bodies, including doctors, go on strike, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. This led to further loss of life, including many who, like my mother, were unable to access medical care.

My mother, Aduke, and many other Nigerian mothers, fathers, breadwinners, and loved ones died in the hospitals nationwide.

My young self and many other Nigerians took to the streets in protest, the soldiers faced us with live ammunition. My 'egbon adugbo', Brother Luku, was gunned down beside me. He had warned me to return home just minutes before his blood baptised me.

In the evening, my mother also passed away due to the lack of medical attention, we couldn't transfer her to a private hospital as all access roads to and from the general hospital were blocked by men in camouflage. Babangida owes me and millions of Nigerians an unreserved apology. What's the use of his library, which will be shut down the moment he answers the call of nature? I believe his well-meaning donors should put their money to better use by building stronger democratic institutions through leadership schools, human resources centers etc.

As for President Tinubu, I've always said that most so-called freedom fighters are only using you to achieve their own personal agendas. They don't mean well for you. Who would have thought that the same Tinubu who was a frontline campaigner against Babangida would sit at the same table with him and laugh like a newlywed virgin bride on her honeymoon? Adams Oshiomhole spent decades campaigning against bad governance, but when given the chance to govern Edo state, he couldn't implement the changes he had advocated for. Okorocha, the 'philanthropist,' was only a farmer who harvested everything he had given out in million folds and robbed Imo of its future.

In conclusion, true leadership requires acknowledging past wrongs and working towards genuine reconciliation. Babangida owes every Nigerian an unreserved apology. He should use his influence to billd a better Nigeria.

Our attention has been drawn to recent publications both in some daily newspapers and online media outfits alleging that our company, Brickwall Global Investment Ltd., failed to allocate plots of land to subscribers who paid for our land scheme at Mayflower Garden Estate, Ikorodu, Lagos State and, by so doing, made insinuations of fraud against our company.

We also make bold to state that no subscriber to any of our schemes, including the said Mayflower Garden Estate, has ever been defrauded by our company.

For the avoidance of doubt, we state that allocation plots of land to our numerous subscribers to the said scheme at Mayflower Garden Estate, Ikorodu has been ongoing and this is being done in phases. The first phase which consists of 15 allocations at the approach section of estate was completed between 2017 and 2018 and all the subscribers to this first phase have received their allocation papers. This fact is verifiable. The allocation of the second phase of the scheme is currently ongoing and it is expected to accommodate at least 50 subscribers and we assure all those who have completed their payments and are yet to receive their allocations that they will certainly get their physical allocations when the allotments in this second phase are completed.

We also recognize the fact that in the course of making these allocations, our company has met with some challenges arising from some subscribers who did not like the location of the plots at the scheme due to the unstable topography of their locations. This issue is been resolved by our company and we assure all affected subscribers to the scheme that they would have their allocations at the end of the day.

With regard to the legal action instituted by some aggrieved subscribers to the scheme as a result of the misunderstanding arising from the location of their plots at the scheme, our team of lawyers are currently responding to the law suit and being a matter that is currently in Court, and as a responsible organization, we shall not comment further on the matter, until the matter is disposed of. However, as one of the foremost real estate firms in the country, we re-assure all our clients, customers and the public that we shall continue to hold our customers and clients very dear and would never relent in making their dreams of being landlords, which is the cardinal objective of our organization, a reality.

'The other room'
I was hoping to respond to the messages i received being reactions to my feminism post yesterday but my fingers wouldn't rest until I lend them to the trending topic on the Nigerian social media today, what else could it be other than the end of the year media bonus from the president to all Nigerian women which he called the other room.
