Israelonoruoiza:
Banwo & Ighodalo Issues Defamation Ultimatum to Edo APC Chairman, Demands Retraction

A legal dispute is unfolding in Edo State as Banwo & Ighodalo, one of Nigeria's leading law firms, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Edo APC Chairman, Mr. Tenebe, demanding a public retraction of an alleged defamatory statement made against their client, Mr. Asue Ighodalo.

The letter, dated December 11, 2024, and obtained exclusively by the leading online newspaper *Truth Live News International*, was signed by Chinedum Umeche FCIArb, a senior lawyer with the firm. It alleges that Mr. Tenebe, on December 10, 2024, recorded and widely circulated a video in which he referred to Mr. Ighodalo as a thief.

In the video, Mr. Tenebe reportedly said:
> “Obaseki will not make such a mistake because he has stolen billions before. Asue Ighodalo will not make such a mistake because he has stolen billions before.”

The legal notice claims that the video, labeled as the “Defamatory Video,” has been widely disseminated across social media platforms, including Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, and even on Arise TV. Banwo & Ighodalo stated that the video has been reposted by blogs and influencers with large followings, further amplifying its reach and causing significant reputational harm to Mr. Ighodalo.

The letter describes the statements as “false, malicious, and defamatory” and accuses Mr. Tenebe of deliberately attempting to tarnish the reputation of Mr. Ighodalo, a prominent businessman and legal professional.

It further warns:
> “You are advised that ignoring this letter may lead to court proceedings being issued against you by our Client in the High Court of Lagos State, without further notice.”

Banwo & Ighodalo demanded that Mr. Tenebe issue a public retraction and apology, both in the same media platforms where the alleged defamatory statements were made and circulated. The law firm emphasized that such a retraction must be unequivocal and must reach the same audience that received the defamatory statements.

At the time of filing this report, neither Mr. Tenebe nor the Edo State APC leadership had issued a response to the allegations. Legal analysts suggest this case could set a significant precedent in defamation law, given the prominence of the individuals involved and the widespread dissemination of the alleged defamatory material.

Chinedum Umeche FCIArb, the letter’s signatory, is known for his expertise in handling high-profile defamation and commercial litigation cases, adding weight to the legal ultimatum issued to Mr. Tenebe.

Truth Live News International will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as events unfold.
Waste of effort, Ighodaro and Obaseki loot the state tru their investment portfolio called Afrinvest. Sterling bank was handling almost every businesses and transactions when he was the chairman before he resigned to contest governorship election. In Obaseki eight years, they were organizing a useless summit tag Alaghodaro and nothing tangible was achieved. Eight years as economic advisers to Obaseki with their over hype brilliance but could not surpassed Oshiomole's performance. Our governor has just set up committee to probe the last administration. Sterling bank and Afrinvest will be exposed. Go to Ikoyi and see the new ultra modern office under construction. Why did both of them not built it before Obaseki ascension to power as governor of Edo state. Why did Obaseki changed almost all the government bank account to Sterling bank. This was the first time it happened since 1999 in Edo state. Osunbor and Oshiomole maintained all the bank details inherited from lucky Igbinedion. Sterling bank is not among the best bank in Nigeria, so for Obaseki as governor to use it as the major government bank, is fishy. All taxes and revenue goes there.

Commodities export drive and more.

On the other hand, the former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State said in an interview I read online that the former President Muhammed Buhari had given him firm assurances that a rail spur would be constructed to link Ekiti State from Osogbo in Osun State. A rail line linking Ekiti State directly to Osogbo and on to the existing Ibadan to Lagos rail lines for cargo haulage and passenger movements would have been awesome BUT it wasn't actualized before the former President Muhammed Buhari left office in 2023.

It would be ideal for the current Governor of Ekiti State to firmly lobby President Bola Tinubu's government and the ministry responsible for transportation to have that rail spur done ASAP (starting from 2025 or 2026) before he leaves office so that Ekiti State can be connected to the nearby Osun State and hence further boost the economy of that state. Rail cargo movement is still cheaper in my opinion. Ondo State too can be connected by the rail line to Ekiti.

Same thing should be done for other viable states around Nigeria that have no rail connections yet to link them up with nearby states that already have rail lines to further boost their economies.
That is the fact, I don't see wisdom in governors constructing airport when another is close by. Akure airport is not far from Ekiti state. Linking railways should have been the best. Let state which share borders partner with each other. Enough of fund wastage.
PoliticsRe: 2027: Atiku Has Lost Igbo Support For Proposing Northern Presidency - Ohanaeze by kedeojo(m): 9:10pm On Dec 12, 2024
TimeManager:
Following the endorsement of a Northern presidency in the 2027 general election by former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Igbo apex group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Wednesday said that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) stalwart has lost any alliance with the Igbo.

In a statement in Abakaliki, the Secretary-General of the Chidi Ibeh-led faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, argued that Atiku’s outburst has exacerbated longstanding concerns within the Nigerian polity, particularly among the Igbo people, regarding the potential subversion of the critically important principle of rotational presidency.

He further maintained that Atiku’s reckless pursuit of Northern political hegemony has irreparably tarnished his standing among the Igbo populace, signalling an affront to their aspirations for inclusion and representation in governance.

According to Ohanaeze, his public statements reveal an exclusionary agenda that dismisses any Southern candidates, notably Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), as potential leaders in the upcoming elections. He added that the implications of his rhetorical choices suggest a desire to construe Mr. Obi merely as a running mate, rather than acknowledging him as a capable opposition leader with valid political weight.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo resolutely rebuffs any political stratagem that seeks to subordinate the Igbo people or undermine their rightful place in the national discourse, maintaining that the Igbo will instead extend their commendations to President Bola Tinubu for his administration’s dedicated focus on significant infrastructural developments currently underway in the Southeast.

Isiguzoro noted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Northern tenure, which spanned eight years from 2015 to 2023, marked a necessary transition of political power and leadership to Southern Nigeria from 2023 to 2031, wondering why Atiku would propose a Northern presidency in 2027.

He said: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo categorically dismisses, renounces, and rejects any insinuation of an Igbo alliance with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a partnership predicated on his apparent disregard for the Gentleman’s Agreement governing the rotational presidency.

“We assert with unwavering conviction that the conclusion of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Northern tenure, which spanned eight years from 2015 to 2023, marks a necessary transition of political power and leadership to Southern Nigeria from 2023 to 2031.

“His public statements reveal an exclusionary agenda that dismisses any Southern candidates, notably Mr. Obi, as potential leaders in the upcoming elections. The implications suggest a desire to construe Mr. Obi merely as a running mate, rather than acknowledging him as a capable opposition leader with valid political weight.

“Moreover, it is essential to clarify that Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s focus extends beyond Atiku’s increasingly untenable advocacy for a Northern presidency. Rather, our critical emphasis lies on the ongoing infrastructural renaissance occurring throughout Southeastern Nigeria.

“Thus, we extend our commendations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s dedicated focus on significant infrastructural developments currently underway in the Southeast.

“Under the astute leadership of Senator Dave Umahi, a member of our community, we have witnessed the rehabilitation and construction of vital federal roadways—specifically the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway, the Calabar-Abakaliki-Benue-Abuja Road, and the Sokoto-Lagos Superhighways.”

Expressing the sentiments of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Isiguzoro articulates the gravity of their position, noting that Atiku has irreparably alienated himself from the Igbo people due to his unreserved endorsement of a Northern presidency—an endorsement which directly contravenes established norms of power rotation.

His actions underscore a profound disconnection from the aspirations of patriotic Nigerians, revealing an obstinate reluctance to embrace the evolving dynamics of democratic governance.

He added, “We, the Igbo people, stand unyielding in our declaration: We shall not entertain any political agenda that undermines our dignity and aspirations. Rather, we will mobilize collectively to ensure the benefits of development and recognition are allocated to those who sincerely advocate for our cause.”

But here we are. APC was divided too, but Buhari forced his followers to keep quiet and obey tinubu for the sake of party unity, or else they would all be out in the cold. They listened.
How does the pdp treated Obi badly. What has been is contribution to pdp, outside sharing of campaign fund in 2019. When pdp lost in 2015, he was not seen unlike Wike. Are you using Obi to represent the south east of pdp not zoning it's ticket. Obi that chicken out. Wike was man enough to challenge Atiku and the northern oligarchy in pdp, who want power at all cost. The Muslim Muslim ticket Obi used as propaganda to decive many Christians will not work again in the south. He will lose many votes in south west and south south in 2027, expecially when he became vice again to Atiku, that he has called criminal. All what Tinubu need is to promise Christian in north central in 2031 and vice presidential ticket to south south. By that he will get very high vote in north Central, south west and south south. He will reduce Atiku chances in north east and west. He will just promise north west Senate president and north east speaker. A North East president or South East president would see a reason to open up Port Harcourt sea port, and make Abia and Anambra to have inland port due to their proximity with North East and south south.

This is due to shipping goods from Lagos to North East is more expensive than shipping goods from Port Harcourt or Calabar to North East.

This is why Igbos cry of marginalization. Aside that, the south east have zone have smallest number of states (5). And south south, south east, north east are marginalized in terms of train from ph to maiduguri, optimum functional seaport in PH, nigercem activation.

All these things will boost economy of Eastern, (south south, south east, north east) corridor.
Did Buhari not granted approval to Obaseki for the gelegele seaport. Every necessary papers from the federal government has been long approved. Ask yourself, which is beneficial to Kwakwanso ambition? Supporting Atiku in 2027 or supporting Tinubu and waiting to be the Northern candidate in 2031?

—If he supports Atiku and Atiku wins, Kwakwanso chance of being president is gone forever.

—If he supports Atiku and Atiku lose, his chance in 2031 will suffer some setback and realignment would have happened.

—If he supports Tinubu and Tinubu win, he can use that as a bargaining power for 2031.

—If he run independently, he will lose. But it will be a tactic support for Tinubu and then make Kwakwanso still be in the discourse for 2031.

Is that the first time we are having such initiatives in education? So, the Federal Government will use 'my taxes' to provide books for the children and put the President's face on it?

This is madness. Obaseki should have replaced the books with covers befitting a Federal Government project and distributed it. It's bad practice to keep kids from getting their educational materials, even as it came from sycophantic publishers.
Shut up your mouth, did Obaseki not also put his faces in somethings he did too. Presidents and governors always do that.
