Honestly speaking. Wike an Ikwere a minority almost won the primary of pdp if not for tambuwa betrayal and most south east and some south south delegates voted for Atiku in the primaries. South west delegates voted massively for Wike because they believe in southern presidency. Igbos decided to chicken out of pdp and that is nobody's fault but political blunder.

Let me show you the voting patterns of the South East since 1999, just to set the records straight in case you haven't realized that Tinubu supporters are lying to you to cover up for their poor choices since 2015 fueled mostly by tribal and/or religious bigotry.

Breakdown of SE votes % since 1999:

1999 (Obasanjo vs Olu Falae): 86% (Obasanjo), 14% (Falae).

2003 (Obasanjo vs. Buhari vs Ojukwu): 65% (Obasanjo), 28% (Ojukwu), 7% (Buhari). Note that Buhari had an Igbo running mate.

2007 (Yar'Adua vs. Buhari): 97% (Yar'Adua), 3% (Buhari). Note that Buhari had an Igbo running mate again.

2011 (Goodluck vs Buhari): 98% (Goodluck), 2% (Buhari). Buhari's % didn't change much despite not having an Igbo running mate.

2015 (Goodluck vs Buhari): 93% (Goodluck), 7% (Buhari). Buhari's % increased despite not having an Igbo running mate

2019 (Buhari vs Atiku): 89% (Atiku), 11% (Buhari). Buhari's % increased again despite Atiku having an Igbo running mate

2023 (Peter Obi vs. Tinubu vs. Atiku): 91% (PO), 5% (Tinubu), 4% (Atiku). PO had slightly less % in the SE compared to GEJ and Yar'Adua.


Note the following:

1. Ojukwu had only 28% of the votes in the SE in 2003. Why only 28% if this was about tribe? Ojukwu didn't even win any state in the SE at the presidential election.

2. Buhari had Igbo running mates in 2003 and 2007. Why only 7% and 3% respectively if there was a tribal correlation?

3. Buhari who was losing very badly in the SE with Igbo running mates, increased his % against Atiku who had an Igbo running mate.

Meanwhile from 2007 till 2023, these Igbos contested at the presidential election:

2007: Orji Uzo Kalu (Only 3% of votes in the SE)

2011: Pat Utomi (less than 1% of votes in the SE)

2019: Kingsley Moghalu (less than 1% of votes in the SE)

2023: Peter Obi (91% of votes in the SE)

Show me again where tribe played any significant role in the SE more than any other region in Nigeria

Wike was able to position itself as a very important personality in pdp because when the lost 2015 election, Atiku, Obi and so many others including serving governors abandoned the party. Wike was even paying salaries for the workers in pdp national Secretariat and also putting the Apc on their toes and people especially south easterners fell in love with him because they see him attacking the party they hate so much. Wike has build formidable loyalist in the party and that is the reason he can't be suspended not to talk of expulsion. Oshiomole supported him and won the first primary but other leaders led by pastor Ize Iyamu saw the danger of losing the election and they protested to the national chairman and president the stepped in and today the Apc candidate is coasting to victory because many leaders of pdp have decamped and fully supporting him. If you are sensible you will understand what the OP wrote. Apc was forced to cancel the previous won primaries by hon Idohosa a Benin who Oshiomole supported but the other leaders have to reach out to Ganduje the national chairman to see reason why the ticket should go to the central part of our state. Tinubu intervened and appeal to Oshiomole to retrace for peace and unity and he accepted. Idohosa became the deputy governorship candidate of Apc. That is leadership and that was what Obi should have done. This are some of the reasons we keep saying he lack leadership. He is the national leader of the party and also the face of it. He made labour party enjoying the popularity now but he truly lack leadership skills. Obaseki has stepped on many toes and it's a pay back time to him by not supporting Asue. Labour would have been the beautiful bride, if the candidate is from Edo central. They would have gave Apc a stiff competition. Tinubu who many taught with coming of dangote refinery will further reduced the price of fuel and that would have reduced the current high price of good and services. Some voters will not have voted for Apc and those pdp leaders would have been splitted just like last year by voting between Apc and labour parties. Now they are all going to vote the Apc candidate because they have decamped and rigorously campaigned against Asue. The current Obaseki's deputy governor Omobayo from my local government, almost won the house of rep last year not because he was popular but some of us were disappointed with the current occupier who has not performed to expectation and the Dan Orbih faction of pdp worked for him against Obaseki's choice of candidate who is the former speaker of Edo state. All Dan Orbih faction are fully in Apc. Obi should go and take a course in political leadership.

In this election season, Oshiomhole is the MVP. Extremely smart! He played the game very well. He succeeded in making the election a subject of comparison between him and Obaseki instead of Asue and Okpebholo. Most conversations now in the state are about the performance of oshiomhole and that of obaseki. And majority of Edo people rate oshiomhole well above obaseki in the streets of Edo. He succeeded in reducing drastically the spotlight on okpebholo knowing fully well he can't match Asue pound for pound. To crown it all up, he succeeded in killing any major debate between them. Eventually, Edo people never truly had the chance to rate Asue and okpebholo side by side before the election.

I can tell you that majority of people in edo are going to the poll to vote either oshiomhole or obaseki on Saturday instead of Asue or Okpebholo. The reason why this is still even a contest is because of the abysmal failure of Tinubu and apc at the federal level otherwise it would have been a walkover for Edo apc.

If the patient end up in theatre, then the patient pays for gloves. Look at the Osiomo power plant he partner with some foreign investors, only big hotels owner and very rich people uses the light. You have to buy your own transformer before you are connected and pay heavy fees. Some rentage houses who connected, end up transferring the cost to the tenants. No middle class or lower class is using Osiomo light. Ologbo the community were it was sited are living mostly in darkness because the people there can't pay to be connected.
