hansad: LMAO!!! Does APC not know that Soludo is a wounded lion who is trying to find a place to hide? Soludo lost Anambra state guber election which he hoped Jonathan would use PDP winning apparatus to rig for Soludo.
Soludo even further opened his biased mind when he posited in the article that veteran Economist, Okonjo Iwealla, should not have been in charge of managing Nigeria's economy. Soludo said an Architect, Namadi Sambo the VP, was the man to have been in charge of managing the economy. Shior Iwealla has taken Nigeria to the fastest-growing economy in Africa.
Soludo had issues with late Dora Akunyili. Soludo is ever vindictive, that's what motivated his recent article. APC forget the message, the messenger has a rabid mind. Guess you are an igbo man, all days worshipping NOI as if she's infallible? NOI is the cause of most problems we found ourselves now as a nation economically, there is no way she can be vindicated. She is a failure pure and simple. This is the bitter truth people like you don't want to hear and it is one of the reasons igbo support gej with their all. She failed the country and there's nowhere she can hide, arrogant woman. |

seguntijan: This is a message from the APC Presidential Candidate Gen. Buhari "Fellow Nigerian, People accuse me of many things. But one thing they never accuse me of is corruption. They never accuse me of mediocrity, or of lying. People accuse me of many things. I have led this country and I have a record. We were not perfect, but we were effective; we solved problems, and we made Nigerians proud. In our government, we fought corruption, we stabilised the Naira, and we shut down insurgencies. We shouldn't forget so soon that there was the Maitatsine ravaging the North east and we dealt with it. We also overran the Chadian rebels. We rebuilt industries, Nigerians queued up and treated each other with respect; Nigerians took pride in our reputation for discipline. The world admired us. We were proud to be Nigerians. However, because they can't attack our record, they accuse me falsely of ethnic jingoism; they accuse me falsely of religious fundamentalism. Because they cannot attack our record, they accuse us falsely of calling for election violence - when we have only insisted on peace. Even as Head of State, we never imposed Shariah. All my running mates have been either Igbo or Yoruba and are always devout Christian of indisputable repute. I have and will continue to condemn those who burn God's places of worship, be they churches or mosques and wish God's judgment upon them. As your President, their punishment won't stop there, we will also ensure Boko Haram and other such elements, are found, are arrested and face the full wrath of the law as punishment for their crimes against our country. My dear friends, this is very important to note: It doesn’t matter if you are Igbo,Yoruba, Ijaw, Hausa, Idoma, Efik, Ekwere, Urhobo, Igala and, no, it does not matter if you are Christian, Muslim, animist or atheist: we need a new direction under a new leadership. The task ahead will be challenging and daunting, but it is surmountable. This is what leadership is about. My only desire is to prove to you that Nigeria can truly work. Allow me prove to you that in your lifetime, you can be proud of this country. Let me make you this promise today: We will protect your children. We will protect your wealth. We will make this country work again. This is why I am running for the office of the president of Nigeria. This is my promise." - Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR). Let's spread this simple message of hope and truth. Help translate it to all our indigenous languages, let's all obtain our PVC, pray for peace, go out on the 14th of FeBuhari, 2015 to vote for a change that will bring true liberation to Nigeria and all Nigerians. This is our civic responsibility. Thank you and God bless Amen. |

1stola: IT WILL DEFINITIVELY HAPPEN IF ANYONE RIGS THIS ELECTION WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT. OTHERWISE, THE MILITARY WILL JUST TAKE CONTROL. Anybody that says GEJ has not done anything is surely a hypocrite. But, all these achievements are not LAUDABLE. For God's sake, Is it there father's money they used to do it? It is not tax payers money? We gave them the mandate to serve us and to manage our money. You and I pay tax directly and indirectly everyday. You bought a fairly used car for four hundred thousand naira and you would have to pay about two hundred thousand naira again (custom duties, insurance, plate number, blablabla) to be able to drive it. The revenue our leaders generate everyday is just too much compared to what we are given back. We pay service charge of N750 to PHCN monthly whether we see light or not and many other ways Govt just extort from us daily. Quoting from all the things you listed as GEJ's achievement in six years is a tip of the iceberg of what can be achieved of a selfless and good leader. GEJ refurbished trains of the 1970s with the same amount of money Japan and South Africa used to make X3 new ones. GEJ built fed unis that are not well equipped and sponsored. Have you been to any of the newly built fed unis? I have been to two recently, fut kebbi and fut Oye for Job interviews. All you will mostly see are big painted empty structures. One thing I just hate Nigerians do is, when i see them praise leaders that have stolen 1000 naira and give them 10 naira back. When is all these nonsense going to stop? I AM NOT SAYING THAT GEJ IS THE ALL-CORRUPT. Corruption is everywhere in this country which many top civil servants, bosses, legislators and other government officials are responsible for but, WHAT IS GEJ BEING THE PRESIDENT DOING ABOUT IT Today; this is a country police men collect bribe from people in the open! this is a country where some people will be asked to pay about N150,000 just to get civil defense, police, army, e.t.c job! This is a country where it has been very hard for our leaders to IMPLEMENT the N18,000 minimum wage that has been passed in the national assembly for the past two years yet, OUR LEGISLATORS AND OTHER GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVES COLLECT THE HIGHEST SALARIES IN THE WORLD with many ridiculous allowances! This is country where a governor will refuse to pay workers salary yet, he will do a 20 million naira ridiculous advert for GEJ's re-election. This a country where INEC can not provide us enough PVC for the past three months yet, they made a budget of 75 billion naira! For God's sake, HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO MAKE A PLASTIC I.D CARD? As far as I'm concerned, GEJ is a disappointment. He promised to give us stable electric power in four years and he has spent more than six years now. OBJ squandered about 20 billion dollars in eight years in the course, GEJ has also spent about 30 billion dollars in the course too in the last six years with no result. WHY IS IT HARD FOR OUR GOVERNMENT TO GIVE US STABLE POWER IN THIS COUNTRY In the last 14 years now, about 50 billion dollars has been stolen and wasted on power project. TEXAS is just a single state in the U.S bigger than Nigeria in size. Their power generating plant only cost two billion dollars to make! WHAT IS HAPPENING TO NIGERIA We all just need to think beyond tribe and religion when selecting leaders. I have said it before and will say it again that: giving GEJ another four years will only make things worse. A leader that said stealing is not corruption. A leader that condemned Buhari's regime for imprisoning a THIEF! (Nwobodo). I have seen someone burnt alive just for stealing a mobile phone not worth than N20,000. WHAT WE REALLY NEED IN THIS COUNTRY NOW IS REVOLUTION!!! Never the less, GMB is just a better option we have for now. Nigeria is cursed there's no doubt and its people are blind and dumb who always consider themselves wise. Wise as they are, they can't solve any of their problems. This country should be a case study for ABSOLUTE FAILURE within the league of nations. |

1, if you haven't obtain your PVC please do everything humanly possible to collect yours. Because the change we clamour for starts from there. Experience has shown that only few percentage of learned Nigerian youth queue under the harsh sun to vote.
2, make sure you vote on february 14 and stay till results are announced.
3, video via your mobile devices your ward presiding officer as he/she announces the results and upload the footage immediately on social media(eg facebook,twitter,nairaland,instalgram,2go,etc) and electronic media(channels TV,Tvc news, etc).
4, contest any contrary results to the original and let's see how change will not occur.

The Ijaws and the people of the south-south have owned the Oil and Gas resources on their waters and lands long before that British drunkard called 'Lord Lugard' came from nowhere to beat-up,flog,shoot and force your ancestors into charade known as 'Nigeria'. Im not even from the south-south, Im an Anambra man but that doesnt stop from seeing injustice when it is happening. If Nigeria was a limited company, the South-South people would be largest shareholders because it is the proceeds from their lands that pays for Nigeria to even exist. Non of the the people shouting Sai Buhari! add any value or contribute anything to the south-south,rather,its the other way round. The contest between Buhari and GEJ is no longer about who occupies Aso Rock. It has now become about if Nigeria divides or not. The Yoruba/Hausa alliance and APC supporters had better start thinking about a separate country where they can elect their 'saviour' Buhari to be their president because it is not possible that Buhari can be president in a country that the SE/SS are part of. If Buhari is elected, the Niger delta militants will shut down the oil production of Nigeria which will bring military conflict and you all can bet that us Igbos will not sit around and watch the destruction of our brethren in the south-south. The election of Buhari is the end of Nigeria. We are at a cross road in 2015 and the son of the south-south has to remain president as a minimum requirement for the continued existence of Nigeria or else APC will have to show me the document where I as an Igbo man and the people of the south-south signed with Lugard to give up our 'sovereignty' to become Nigerians. The 5 major IOCs Total, Shell, Agip, Chevron and Mobil know this and that's why they are selling assets and suspending further expansion contracts till after the outcome of the elections. zendy: I fully support the Niger -Delta militants in thier threat of taking their oil and Gas wealth back should GEJ not be re-elected. The Yoruba/Northern alliance who want GEJ out should bear in mind that the people of the SE/SS generally think of "Nigeria" as one big fraud that has been used to steal thier oil and Gas wealth since the end of the war. Boy Loaf was absolutely right when he said that there is no such thing as "one Nigeria". That notion only exists as long as oil is flowing. So,the Yoruba/Hausa alliance and APC supporters should bear in mind as they are shouting 'Sai Buhari!' that should Buhari be elected,it will mean the end of oil money and by default, the end of Nigeria. The people of the south-south are the greatest contributors to the Nigerian state and for just that alone,a son of theirs deserves the 8 years others have been getting, and anyone who does not like it had better like it if the south-south people decide not to share their oil wealth with anybody. GEJ till 2019 or bye bye oil money forever!!! It amazes me to read this kind of rubbish from so called educated people. Ijaws are not contributing anything as you claim above, oil is God's given gift to the independent country Nigeria not to Ijaw nation. |

RE: NIGER DELTA READY FOR WAR!!! You are free to share Forwarded as received I was in conversation with a United Nation official yesterday and we were talking about the acquisition of warships by ethnic militant Tompolo, in a country were our brave soldiers are being starved off equipment. He told me point blank that in every major conflict he has assessed or being involved in as a UN official it all started with one fellow choosing to ARM an ETHNIC MILITIA as against the national army of the country, sometimes deliberately depleting the army before the violence starts. I first got reports of Niger Delta militant Asari Dokubo buying military helicopters and hardware from diplomatic intelligence sources about 2 years ago. Shortly after that he was arrested in Benin Republic but released upon the intervention of our government. What I can see is very clear, JONATHAN is leading an effort to create an alternate military force in the Niger Delta to force the hands of the generality of NIGERIANS when the time comes. How else can one explain Tompolo a man once declared wanted for killing our soldiers now effectively taking over the duties of our navy? Where is all the money coming from? Do you think the arms are being bought for boat parade or regatta? No they are to kill NIGERIANS. JONATHAN has never been able to rise to fill the position of the NIGERIAN Presidency, he acts like an ethnic war lord and at the rate he is going he is going to push us into the path of Liberian and Sierra Leone, while silly people are busy cheering him on. I have taken it upon myself to write a letter of complaint and warning to the United Nations Secretary General to pay attention to what JONATHAN and his cohorts are doing in Nigeria, seemingly pushing the country closer to a violent ethnic crisis. This crisis would consume the entire African continent if not checked. This morning I received this in my in box, and I couldn't help but shudder that we are dealing with really devious human beings who have mistakenly found themselves in power. Their attitude and body language says it all: "I'm really amused that we are all screaming murder years after the deed was done? It's well over 3 years that I have been screaming the overall plans and strategies of the south-south vs the behemoth Nigeria, i.e, their eventual emancipation! For the sake of many who have not read or few who have taken these posts as scare mongering by Oyenuga Lanre Paul, I'll re summarise them here. To free their region of the shackles of endless exploitation and domination by the rest of Nigeria, the south-south decided as follow: 1). Cripple the Nigerian Army's capacities to engage in sustained warfare: thus the encouragement of BH and decimation of the army's hardware and personnel. 2). Ensure Nigeria is economically destitute and unable to spend on warfare: thus the unprecedented looting of the treasury, resulting in our current vulnerability. Okonjo Iweala is not 'coordinating' for nothing. 3). Is the military takeover of our coastal waters by the south-south, which is what the coastal waterways protection contract with Government Tompolo was designed to guarantee. Let no one be deceived, less than 0.5% of our military, (including naval and air force) personnel can swim in an 8 foot deep pool, not to mention a river or coastal waters. Thus, how do you engage these toughened militia in their coastal waters, when we couldn't tackle BH in plain view? 4th). Is the intense frustrations of the oil producing companies by the south southerners nouveau-riche to hand over the onshore production bases to them by forced sale or outright disruption of their operations. As we chat here, 70% of the onshore operations have been sold off by the major players like shell, Mobil, etc. As well as the training of ex militants as pilots under amnesty Anyone doubting my claims of warning about these can browse through my timeline. IF THE SOUTH-SOUTH PULLS OUT TODAY, WE ARE SITTING DUCKS! The South-East are tagging along with the south-south, for obvious reasons and I don't blame them! The choice of Buhari is due to these calculations by our rulers in the South-West and the core North. Unless I'm paranoid, we have a scary situation ahead. I moved my family out as far back as 2011, based on this concerns. GEJ will very likely lose the elections in 2015, but the south-south will keep their oil. Can we afford a war with a region sitting on oil? Do we have a military capable of delivering our goal? Would it not be cheaper to renegotiate our federation? Or, would it be another Rehoboamic declaration of "To your tents o Israel"? GEJ ain't clueless, he's merely troubled by the plots he's a key player in? Viva Le Nigeria'.."! maestroferddi: It should be more auspicious to look at both sides of an argument.
You averred that the issues being raised could aid Buhari's chances as his progressively overcoming them would boost his stakes. Fine and good.
But did you consider the deleterious consequence of the integrity and moral issues the certificate matter has thrown up?
Now tell me whether Buhari's seeming inability to provide the most basic of credentials does not make mockery of his campaign thrust of integrity and anti-corruption?
What I see happening here is disillusionment among Nigerians over Buhari's candidature. Some of those who could have given him a look-in have already moved on. That was what PDP went out to achieve and I think they have succeeded.
In the final analysis, the whole spectacle would be nothing but a noble attempt to galvanise Jonathan to work harder in his second term.
As for Buhari becoming President, I am sorry for disappointing many people, that would not happen. You can't be so sure that any of the two main candidates can't be a winner. Let me remind you what happened a couple of days ago, people from the south in the northern part of the country are returning in large number back to their root because of the fear of election violence. Let's say 50% of the people eventually vacated the north, and they have no chance to vote either in the north or in the south because they have their registration in the north, this alone gives Buhari an edge. Hausas and Fulanis in the south are going nowhere especially those in the Southwest. People clamouring for the return of the General are no fools, they no as well that Buhari is no saint but they are very certain that he can help salvage the nation at this point in time from total collapse. Jonathan does not help the matter as well, he surrounded himself with corrupt people. He his running a government of the rich, by the rich for the rich at the detriments of the masses. He wouldn't have lasted this long if he's not from the minority especially from the Niger-Delta where 95% of the nation earnings coming from. Nigerians simply tolerated Gej this long and waited for him at election period, and the fear of what will happen next taking into consideration that oil market is undergoing serious crisis that is now affecting our earning. Jonathan cannot be trusted, he is a failure, a glaring one, people from his side attested to this as well. This is the time to rescue Nigeria before its too late. |

Election is a game of numbers and pdp knows this quite well and that's why they are throwing various challenges on the path of the General. The first is that if government makes the right laws and legislations. Ok,my question is ,how can a set of wrong people make the right decisions?we have a system in nigeria where it is the wrong set of people that votes, these wrong set of people vote in the wrong set of people and how will these wrong set of people make the right decisions? I can authoritatively tell u that over 80% of nigerian voters that vote in elections are bought and induced one way or the other, and there is no way I will spend 4billion naira on an election and if I win I won't want to make 8billion.that is the kind of system in nigeria politics .secondly u raised the issue of unity, believe me bro, nigerians will support anyone they see to be true regardless of religion or tribe. The third point is gani, this is a big issue but yes and yet I will say gani was ordinary, believe me we don't have to be educated to gani level of education before knowing what is good or bad. The issue is people just don't want to do it,people believe it is a waste of time fighting bad vices in our society. Nigerians keep hoping that one day somebody will come and do it right but my question to people have always been why can't you be the person people are waiting for?why can't I be the change people want?why can't I lead and champion the cause of justice?why do I have to rely on someone else to do it when I am still alive? Those that did it then are men like u and I but took it upon them selves to lead the cause of justice. It doesn't have to be big or nationwide like gani own,it maybe in a small community or local government. Nigerians need to know that their own help is in their hands and themselves. Its a great pleasure interacting with you. So if we all have solutions to our problems on papers or in this case on the internet how exactly are we going to solve them? How are we going to let our people know that our destiny is in our own hand where there's division everywhere? I want to see a better Nigeria, but how can we get there? |

You asked a very sensible question which is “how did we get into the mess nigeria is now?” And I will tell you blame the people. It is the same people complaining about bad leaders now that collected 1kong or measure of rice plus 1000 naira to vote for these bad leaders. It is the people in nigeria that are indifferent to whosoever rules them that complains about bad rulers,it is the people who have refused to collect voters cards and feels voting isn't their business that complains,it is the people that fold their arms and do nothing when things are going wrong that complains, etc. I keep telling people that gani fawehinmi is a man like u and I ,he didn't have 2 heads or 5 legs , but he took it upon himself to fight government injustice and corruption. Today in nigeria ,if someone starts campaigning against the ills of government or society ,he will be looked upon as been jobless. Until the nigerian masses realize that their destiny is in their own hands ,things will never change. I don't believe any of the politicians or political parties we have now have anything positive to contribute ,but we have no choice but to choose among them, because good people of high integrity have refused to join politics . I agree with you but not in totality. The surest way of getting things done is the way you suggested IF ONLY WE RESPECT ONE ANOTHER AND UNITED REGARDLESS OF HOW HIGH OR LOW OUR FELLOWS ARE and I can tell you it seems almost impossible to achieve anything with this kind of approach in Nigeria of today. Things that separated us apart are too enormous, if it is not religion, it will be ethnic or others like education, social status, upbringing and the likes. We are a very proud people and each of us like to take advantage of others, so with all these within us there will never be genuine unity and thus nothing worthwhile can be achieved. Now if the government ensure that the rule of law shall be abide with regardless of our differences, development will surely follow and we will find solutions to many other problems facing us. As it is, we are creating more and more problems and if care is not taken it might consume us. We need our learned compatriots especially those specialist in law to come to our rescue. Gani of blessed memory was not ordinary, he was highly learned and versed in act of governance, not any Nigerian can do as he did but others of his calibre that feel unconcerned are who I can appeal to, to rescue us from total collapse of the country. We are ready to work with them. |

onatisi: I have been telling people that the problem with nigeria isn't the politicians or the leaders alone but the society system that operates in nigeria. People become emergency billionaires overnight and nobody cares to know or ask how he or she got those millions within 24hrs as long as he shares it with them. Church members that came to church last week on foot and tattered shirts can come to church the following week with a toyota avalon 2014 model and the church won't question him. All he needs to say is the lord is good. This also happens in mosques . Until nigerians starts been wary of these set of emergency millionaires the spate of ritual killings, armed robberies and drug pushing will only continue and even escalate. The nigeria society must go back to the system of giving credit to hard work and honest living and stop hailing or praising boys, men or people whose source of affluence and wealth can't be determined or verified . The problem is still the government and the learned among us. Look at what is happening in the political circle. How did we arrive in all these mess? Jumbo salaries and other mouth watering allowances that amount to more than a quarter of our annual budget, how did we get there? I think we citizens suppose to come together and equip ourselves with knowledge of governance. We need the learned and sincere among us to take the lead. |

yoosooph: RE: NIGER DELTA READY FOR WAR!!!
You are free to share Forwarded as received
I was in conversation with a United Nation official yesterday and we were talking about the acquisition of warships by ethnic militant Tompolo, in a country were our brave soldiers are being starved off equipment.
Their attitude and body language says it all:
"I'm really amused that we are all screaming murder years after the deed was done? It's well over 3 years that I have been screaming the overall plans and strategies of the south-south vs the behemoth Nigeria, i.e, their eventual emancipation! For the sake of many who have not read or few who have taken these posts as scare mongering by Oyenuga Lanre Paul, I'll re summarise them here. To free their region of the shackles of endless exploitation and domination by the rest of Nigeria, the south-south decided as follow:
It's from Oyenuga Lanre Paul

I feel sad about this development because there's nothings anyone can do now. It is a pity we put all this upon ourselves. The president himself needed over 200 strong soldiers to guard him on his last visit to Maiduguri, so my advice to the igbos in particular and the southerners in general is to fall back home. How to find solution to problem like this is what a sensible government and people suppose to be engaged in not castigation of your fellow compatriots. Which way Nigeria? |
