Kolanut price do fluctuate; supply and demand dictate it. Take a stroll to shagamu - sabo market precisly. Here, the natives sell in bits, usually in baskets, to Hausa who gather them to form enough bulk for export. To have a favourable trade, partner with a native - preferably the elderly women. Make a deal with them, at a good price, let them do the gathering and preservation until you get enough required for export. They also know those that own bulk nuts at home. Kolanut gets burnt if not preserved well, and this will translate into loss for you, so guide against it. Sort out burnt (black) nuts or make sure it is within the limit stipulated by the importer. @ megacash you are well on point. What you wrote about are elements contained in a business plan. However, the question is how many aspiring entrepreneur own a business plan? Business is no child's play - you dare not go to war without a plan, why then go to business without a plan? The bottom line: don't venture into a business without a plan that will show you the way to success. |

If you have a paid employment, I would request you seek for loan or other form of money assistance from your place of work, which you repay in installment from your salary . Over time, purchase of spare parts of the machines for repair jobs and selling to other end-users can come too. Tokunboh or new machines can also have their place in your shop, depending on the market you intend to service. All this will fulfil your buying and selling desire. Hello friends, I am back for real. The problem has been found to be more of poor network due to my location. Anyway, I am glad to be back. We were about to discuss pricing before the cut-off; let us go on. Why pricing as an element in the business plan? The reward for the risk you take as an entrepreneur is the profit you make. Where do you get the profit? From the price you set on your product/service. In business, you could sell and sell like mad and have nothing to show for it. Without appropriate pricing, you can't make it. In pricing, you need to account for cost, right from raw-material purchase or efforts required to getting the product/service to the customer. Getting to the customer will include marketing efforts, phone calls, paper for receipt, toilet roll in the customer loo- if they come visiting, water to flush the loo-if you pay water bills, shop rent, seminar training to provide your clients with good service e.t.c After you count these costs, you then factor in your profit. Without this formula, it would be a matter of time before the brand collapses. Despite the above, some factors still govern pricing; let us know them tomorrow. Thanks. |
