Something similar happened to me...

It was those heavy duty machinery and equipments. The guy was a friend... Attended same uni. Although I was his senior by a year.

He had a sand filling contract at VI. One of his excavator sank. The equipment remained in the salt water for close to 3 months because he didn't have funds to "excavate" his excavator. He reached out to me. When I met him his hair was already Grey due to stress. Lol.

He probably also took a loan to finance his project and was exhausted for funds. He would not be paid until he completed.

So he reached out to me. I loaned him cash. After the machine was retrieved he kept reaching out to me. The machine had stayed in the water for a long time and much of the parts were already getting spoiled and rusted. Especially the electrical parts. I spent a significant amount assisting him.

Sorted out many things only for the machine to get fully working and in shape. He completed his contract but refused to refund me. The agreement was to refund my money with 10 percent interest. I haven't bothered him since then and he still owes me. He is now in Canada. We talk every now and then but I don't bring up the issue. I value friendship... It doesn't always pay me though. As people take you for granted.

Op you can get a trusted person in Nigeria to help you report at a police station on your behalf and handle everything!

Thank you for this information, but this guys problem is that, he has pride, for 700k he is telling me how much is 700k, and when I reached out to his family, the family was saying he has done the same thing to them, so it’s almost like a scam. Now imagine your own friend, a roommate back in university days reaching out to you after some time just to scam you? Now the thought of it is pissing me off so bad. He is not remorseful, he doesn’t even reach out to me nothing

Use illegal means, you need to remind him what you're capable of.

You're probably boxed up than him. This is Nigeria, police would back you up in every aspect.

His luck is he is not in Benin. Don’t really have those kind of people in Lagos

So I entered a supposed partnership with a friend,(although I don’t know his address) only his work place. We were friends and even roommates back in school. It was a logistics business. He own a truck and he contacted me that he needed a partner before during the ember month, so he could put the truck in good shape for business. It’s been 4months plus now and this boy has not paid me a penny. After he failed to pay me 3 weeks from the initial date of the deal. I told him I wanted to back out that I’m no longer interested, so I gave him a 5 weeks, that he should refund me my money. Since then up till now he has not paid me 1 naira. I tried reaching out to the police because I’m out of the country, they said I should make a report to the nearest police station, even after i told them, I’m not in Nigeria. They just stopped talking. Please what else should I do, I don’t want to use illegal means. I have proof of payment and a small paper work(not a legal one)

Discuss with your and his banks.
There are free lawyers on Facebook.
Check legalaid for your state.
Efcc might also be more proactive than the police.

Good morning great people. Please is it still possible to apply for masters in Canada after been rejected for applying for a diploma program. I have not graduated when I first applied so I wrote on my SOP that I was a dropout in ur 3 because I don’t like my course of study. Now that I have my first degree can I still apply for masters in Canada, wont my previous application affect this one? Please I need answers. Thank you

I would need a good guide on my new SOP please. I did a change of program due to delay/rejected visa and the program I applied for originally is not open yet. So applied for another, I need help on how to go about this please

Greetings great people. My student visa has been denied due to Personal assets and financial status. I have ordered for my notes for a month now and I am yet to receive it, beside I have a landed property and two cars registered under bolt as my business which I didn’t summit with my application because my agent discouraged me to, because he feels I am still young to have those, beside I’m 23.
