Golf 4 automatic

I bought newly gearbox after installation by my mechanic I realized gear 3$4 not selected and now the mechanic is asking me to pay 6k for programming of the system by rewire after paid so much on gearbox somebody help need a better advice on this my car is Golf 4 automatic. Quick response pls

I just spent so much changing my gearbox after a total breakdown while on the road, now my mechanic said is not fully selected with gear 4 and 5 respectively now asking me to pay another 6k fee for rewire that will do the programming , Please let's somebody help new gear box for that matter.
