Pls my newly purchased redmi 8a does not install some apps. D internet speed is really horrible, even with 4G. Am I not getting d settings right? Can someone pls help me with d exact setting? I'm using MTN. Thanks

It's not so bad on my side here. But it could be better. I use Mtn also. You can try to change your preferred network type to wcdma only (or Lte only) by dialling *#*#4636#*#* and selecting the network type you want. I noticed by default it's usually td-scdma/umts. Just change to wcdma or Lte only.
Also uc browser seems like the way to go for browsing on my 8a

As for app installation, use google play to download those apps. They'll definitely install. I experienced that with truecaller app

I bought it then because of my Budget and it was totally worth it then, the only down side were the unstable 4g connection, average battery life, the way it's gets hot when playing games/when browsing and the camera but like Lexus said it's not for the camera.my favorite part of the device was the display better than a lot of I've seen even those more costly emg the spark I recently compared it with a spark 4 and it was much sharper.

Thanks for the detailed reply. It's an eye opener

Some of those complaining of battery draining are using Redmi 7 or other phones. So it's their version of 11.0.3 is different from yours.

No need for unnecessary panic. Update your phone

Alright thanks for clarification.

All Xiaomi phones(different Models) are hardly ever on the same MIUI Version.

So I might be on 11.0.3 and another model is on 11.0.6 and another model on 11.0.8 and so on.
Ok I understand now.

Very wrong indeed

You may be right but a few people complain about some stuff after update. Like battery now. I like battery well o. May not want to risk update if it may affect my battery.

I have learnt a lot on this thread but I think there's one I'll like to apply to myself since I Don join the redmi gang. Here it goes: I WON'T UPDATE MY DEVICE FROM WHAT COMES OUT OF THE BOX. Seems to be the most stable version without much issues.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

you will have to install Poco launcher for that... or you can add a lock widget on your home screen.

Good day guys. Please how do I use double tap to sleep on redmi 8a?
It only works when I'm on the LOCKSCREEN. I want to use it when I'm on the HOME SCREEN. I hope you understand this my question.
