Redmi Phones are very bad in RAM Optimization .. Something a Redmi fan boy won't wana talk about.. There's nothing you can do about it jare
Not in all cases. I've used 2 versions of redmi 8a one is 2gb ram and the other is 3gb ram. I noticed the poor ram management on the 2gb version. So far, nothing like that on the 3gb.

I think he's just a guy trying to sell his open box device. Maybe not a seller like the ones you're familiar with here

It's no secret Miui is bad with multitasking.

I think you're exaggerating your problem tho and hyping infinix too much.
Anyway, I think installing a custom rom would help as the hardware is stellar just the operating system is too aggressive with background apps.

I use a Mi 8 with 6gb ram and it closes apps anyhow too to be honest. Meanwhile, sometimes it holds apps decently in the background.
I think 8gb ram is probably minimum to enjoy multitasking better on miui.

Some of my friends buy xiaomis just for the hardware and flash custom roms almost immediately. I think it's a smart path to take.

I faced a problem similar to his while I was using the redmi 8a 2gb ram version. That was my first xiaomi device coming from an android one device. I tot it was really bad the way miui aggressively closes background apps.
It all stopped when I switched to the 3gb version of the 8a. I think ram has something to do with the problem. But again, miui is aggressive o.

To the guy with the multitasking problem, try not to multitask with heavy apps, it may also be the cause.

Hello guys.
I've heard that aliexpress Standard Shipping is a bit faster than the free shipping methods.

I wanna ask, like how long does it take to get your item with Aliexpress Standard Shipping during this Covid period? Has anyone used it recently? Please respond if you have Info on this.

Thanks

It's sad to hear about the loss of the device but I'm glad it's been resolved to a certain extent.

But I'm curious about something. Can't expensive items be sent via NIPOST? I'm just curious. Anybody with knowledge on this can reply me abeg

Mehn, I am bleeped. He forgot his password but his SIM card is Linked to his MI acc. The problem is that he doesn't have a phone to reset it.

I tried doing it from my own end, and while I was getting wrong username, they sent him a code on his SIM. Problem is , I won't see him face to face until tomorrow evening.

The number showing on the mi acc is exactly the one I am calling him with. so he is definitely the owner.

Is there no other way to get around this thing?

I think it's better to see face to face to finish the transaction. It would be easier.

He was trying to reset it via factory reset but he didn't know how to do it. He didn't know he had to input his password on his mi account.

I will have to go to his place to unlock the phone.

But my fear is that he might have forgotten his password. If that is the case, what will he do?

If he has forgotten, it's not a big deal as long as he was the rightful owner before sale. He can click forgot password option to reset it. I think a code would be sent to the phone number registered to the Mi Account

Also if you use some chargers, they may cause the ghost touch. Broken touchpad could also be the issue.

So sorry I'm just seeing your mention.

To answer your questions:

1. The video file isn't broken in any way. I downloaded it alongside several others from the same source but only this particular one refuses to play.

2. I haven't tried it on any other device yet.

3. Just about 300MB.

How do I know which custom codec to download and where can I download?

Thanks so much for your response

I may be wrong but I think the file uploaded to site was probably corrupted. You can try to download the same video from another site if you have data to spare

Hello everyone,

Not sure this is the right thread to post this but I believe I can get help here.

I've been trying to play an MP4 video on my phone to no avail. I keep getting "Support for this video codec is missing from your device" on MX player. VLC is not working too.

How do I resolve this please? Will appreciate your inputs

First of all, are you absolutely sure the video file is not damaged or broken in any way?

Second, does it play on the source device? (Laptop, friend's phone etc)

how large is it? Some videos as large as gigabytes may have problems playing on android

But really, I suspect the video is somehow damaged. Try download custom codecs from mx player setting if you're sure the video is not damaged.

Anyway to increase my speaker volume during calls without entering loudspeaker? The speaker volume seems a bit low such that when I'm in a loud place, I barely hear anything being said by the caller.

Cosmicstranger:

yes i did change the charging board but the problem began even before that
It occurred months after i bought my device (brand new)

Edit: same issue happened on my previous phones with the same Sim

My suggestion: if the 2 Sims are of the same network, try use 1sim of another network with one of your sims to know if it's network issue

Or you can try your sim in another phone.

Or as a last resort, you can do a sim swap maybe the sim is already old. Try different things till you get a good result.
Phones / Re: Help My Mobile Network Keeps On Fluctuating by Kennyflyair: 9:21pm On Dec 03, 2020
I experienced something similar on one of my former phones.

It all started when I changed the charging board of the phone. Turns out for some phones, the only original charging board is the follow come one. The way the phone was designed, the network was somewhat connected to the charging board.

So did you Change your charging board recently. Not charging port o, the board itself.

It's called "soundapp" . I'm not sure it's on Play Store though and the settings is somehow complicated.

Trust me, there are a million things you can do with android, it's one of the reasons why I hate iPhones

Thanks I would try it out
