Hi. Its good to be curious. Never mind, the interview result is not out yet. Once out, the whole world will get to know. ![]() |

The three offers are okay if you are more interested in money than in pursuing a career in Engineering. Again, pay package for the three offers are almost the same, so this is a matter of career interest. I will advise you settle for NNPC, they are doing re-structuring, laying off tired hands, and injecting new bloods. This is to say no more idle time like before because of large workforce. Again, there is 90% possibility that the department/subsidiary you will be posted to will be in line with your field. As a Mechanical Engineer, NETCO[Nigerian Technical Company] is a fertile ground to learn. They handle all Oil & Gas related Engineering designs and you work hand in hand with their joint venture partners. Also NPDC[Nigerian Production Development Company] is also nice for you. They are into oil and gas exploration. They are managing the marginal oil fields that the big players released to them, in this subsidiary you work on the rig and its pepper. Finally, l strongly believe there is a place to be per time, by this l mean there is a particular place God wants you to occupy per time. He knows what is best for you, He is the only one that knows the best the three different places can offer you. I will advise you talk to Him about it. |
Nigerian Export Promotion Council[NEPC] is the federal government agency in charge of export activities. Registration with NEPC costs only N5,500.00 naira[Five Thousand, Five Hundred Naira Only]. This stated fee covers form and processing. NEPC corporate headquarters is at 10 Kumba Street, Wuse Zone 2. Abuja. Lagos office is at 13/15 Ladipo Oluwole Street, Off Marine Road, Apapa. |
All well said. Please whats happening in FMCG-FAST MOVING CONSUMER GOOD companies. The entry level salary packages for; PZ, Unilever, P&G, Cadbury, Nestle, etc. |
You can try: Webb Fontaine Nigeria, Adamawa Plaza, Central Area, Abuja. The company is into IT. |
Good to hear you have a job with all those benefits attached. There are many sectors you can practise your profession as a Mechanical Engineer, but do you like the sector you want to enter now.If you are indifferent to working in a particular sector, l advise you accept the offer. 80k, official car, lnternational training and a 2-bedroom flat is a good start & be rest assured that a company offering you that much will double that salary for you in a year. Forget the bond, by the time you spend 4 good years, you would have become a professional in that field. Even if you want to leave, there will be conditions for breaking the bond. Most time, you have to refund some heavy amount of money. With this, no wahala; because the company that will want to take you will be willing to pay off the company on your behalf, because they really want you [so just try and be made in your career in that place, so that it will be easy for you to leave when you want to] |
They advertised in the dailies not quite long. I think about 2 months ago. |
The company is into IT. A friend joined them recently as an experienced hire and the pay is cool. They just opened an office at Abuja and am not sure if they have offices elsewhere. As per their test format, my guy did not write any test. Even, they are still putting many things in place especially their office complex at central area in Abuja.Goodluck. |
Bumax is right, I encountered the same problem. Another option is to get their PH contact address, so one can send hard copies. |
I don't know the position you applied for, but if it is" Trainee Engineer", expect Engineering questions that spans; production, gear-belt & pulley mechanics. 10 questions in 1hr 30 minutes. The knowlegde of your basic mathematics and engineering intellect is required. You might see something like: calculate the total number of pallet loads that 800dm3 drum of wine will fill, if ten litres fills a bottle, 10 bottles in a carton, 20 cartons packed on a pallet , You just have to relate all the parameters together to get the required answer while being mindful of unit conversions. Goodluck |
I once did Cakasa test, sometimes last year August. The test lasted 1hr 30 minutes. It was in four parts; 1. Technical Questions - Basically engineering e.g gears, pulley, belt and some diagrams. 2. Mathematics - Simple mathematics, basicly o'level 3. Verbal Reasoning - Gmat stuff 4. Reporting Essay- The question then was, "A committee was set up to investigate the customers claim against some marketers of the company. YOU as a Trainee Engineer is the secretary to the committee, write a report of your findings addressed to the MD. Can't remember all, its been long. Good luck. |
Thanks for the info Easyman. Many Nigerian local oil companies are like that, but now that millions are struggling to fill limited available spaces, no one has a choice. At least for a start. Once you have oil and gas experience, with God on your side, you will move very fast in the sector. Like you now, with your experience, by the time you get another job,the offer will be mouth-watering. A friend had just 3 months experience and when he changed job;his salary was increased by 320%. Without the previous 3 months experience, he wouldn't have secured the job. Lets encourage our guy to go blast the test, get a job with them, spend a little time, and leave for a better place. Let no man despise the days of little beginning. Please, l don't mind if you can tell me the starting salary for fresh graduates at the company in question. |
Thanks for the information. Please, l want to know the starting salary for fresh graduates at NNPC. |
Halliburton is still a key player in the oil and gas sector. A friend joined them 2 months ago and the offer is mouth-watering for a fresh graduate. Imagine collecting above 2M per annum. |

I did the Lonadek test but am yet to hear from them. Has anybody in the house that did the test heard from them? Who are they recruiting for? l was surprised to be invited for the test because l could not recollect when l applied. Please, if you know whom they are recruiting for or whether they have started contacting people, kindly post your info. |
