Please brethren I'm really concerned about this and in need of valuable advice. I'd like to know if it's a good car to own as per reliability and cost of ownership, I'll prefer the hard truth and not biased information. Current and previous users' experiences are highly welcome and most importantly car gurus, mechanics/technicians, engineers. Car TalkRe: Problems Encountered By The Introduction Of The New Vehicle Tinted Glass Permit by kennyzboy(op): 8:14am On Mar 19, 2016
Hello house sorry for the year mix up in the effective date, I typed 2015 instead of 2016, though I tried to edit it but couldn't, just like I outlined earlier there was no proper notification and general public awareness made for the scheme, but rather a hasty roll out and short time-line for people to comply. As for me i found out about it just this last month February and though I completed the on-line part, did capture and bio-data update I was told to check back for the certificate between 5 - 10 working days. I have been checking the status on-line since then to see when it would change from awaiting approval to approved, I observed it was approved on Saturday, the 11th of this month, so I went to the state command to collect my approved tint permit certificate on Monday this week only to be told that the site is unavailable and no light either, I also tried to check it myself and confirmed that the site is unavailable and has been so even till yesterday evening. Na wa oo Naija which way forward...... we really do have a bunch of useless house of federal law-makers and executive political office holders...even as i write this many people are still not aware of this scheme as I met two people who actually paid N25,000 and collected the previous canceled tint permit last week, when I informed them of the change they were really surprised and upset about it and lamented why the police collected their money and gave them invalids...

Please the guy that posted about an extension on the scheme is it true?
Car TalkProblems Encountered By The Introduction Of The New Vehicle Tinted Glass Permit by kennyzboy(op): 1:05pm On Mar 18, 2016
Though this scheme seems laudable at first, certain issues later come up for discussion. First and foremost the time frame given which is January 1, 2015 to March 18, 2015 being yesterday is actually very short and annoying. Secondly there was no prior notice or awareness campaign to inform the general public before commencement of the scheme. Thirdly the website for input & update of vehicle registration has been off-line now for the past four or five days now, denying people of the ability to get registered. Fourthly one cannot complete registration/biometric capture and collect permit the same day, it's usually between 2 - 4 weeks of registration. Fifthly only one capture equipment is available in every state command which is usually in the state capital, requiring traveling/accommodation logistics in some cases. Sixthly i don't see why any modern nation would subject its citizens to this trouble in that it is only supposed to be for those who intentionally fix their vehicle glasses with tint such that their interiors cannot be viewed ordinarily, as factory fitted ones can be viewed normally with only the back glasses usually tinted.

Furthermore most affected people see it as a ploy by the police authorities to exploit its citizens of their hard earned money since this scheme came out too soon with the difficulties associated with obtaining it.

Please anyone should provide updates concerning this issue as per police harassment about this topic, feel free to even add your own comments and complaints or suggestions as per the way forward, thanks.

Hello house as earlier requested by Nairalander- 00Pro in the Treasury Bills thread,

Please can anyone provide any useful information regarding CBNs Open Market Operations.

1. How do these instruments work?

2. Can Individuals purchase these securities utilizing instructions sent to their banks? (same method with Treasury Bill auctions)

3. What is the minimum requirement amounts?

4. When are the offer dates (schedule of upcoming auctions)

5. Is interest paid upfront or at maturity?

Thanks in anticipation of your candid responses, have a blessed Sunday.

pipz:
Very good explanation but kennyboy will only receive 10 million principal only if he bought the Bond at par ( face value) which is always not the case. Kenny will only get 10 m if he invested in the primary auction I.e a new issue which will sell at par. But if Kenny buys at the secondary market which is the most available to retail clients Kenny won't get his full principal back. Image if Kenny had bought the FGN Bond 29/06/2019 16.00% selling at 108 as at Friday. At maturity Kenny boy will be paid at par. Ie 100 Naira per unit. Note Kenny that you had bought a unit for 108. So do they math.
Thanks a lot @Pipz for the clarification, though I'll confess that its no longer looking wise for me to invest in bonds anymore.

Greetings house gurus, what rates do you suggest for bidding this week? Would like to have an idea on your forecasting skill analysis. I think maybe the rates might not differ significantly from the previous one, or what do you think?

InvestmentInvesting In Federal Government Bonds In Nigeria by kennyzboy(op): 7:42am On Apr 04, 2015
Good morning house, please I would really appreciate it if any guru here in the house knows much about federal government bonds and how profitable it is. I have observed that there are threads on treasury bills, the stock market and mutual funds, so I decided to move for government bonds too. For example let me take the 5 years bond at a rate of 15%, if one invests N10,000,000 on it what would be the ROI after the 5 years and also is the ROI paid upfront or after maturation? Thanks in anticipation of enlightenment by those in the know.
