I took my time to read this article,my take away are the following: 1) Nigeria is a very very very very very poor country I might not totally agree with this Govt's style but we needed to put a brake on the subsidy madness It was simply unsustainable,we were just driving at 120km/hr on a 30km/hr road...the end was going to be disastrous 2) Opaque nature of Crude transactions In over 30 years, nobody can list who really benefited from the Crude oil swap Before you start arguing, can you mention the Refineries abroad that refined our crude Can you mention what happens to all the derivatives that we got from the over close to 1 Trillion liters of crude that we swapped in over 30 years...yes you read it right Nigeria swapped over 1 Trillion liters of crude in over 30 years and nobody can account for one single derivative 3) Overpriced products from the Local Refinery We all seem to agree that the petrol from the Dangote Refinery is overpriced but I am from the school of thought that I still bet on Dangote I always challenge the doubters, take a visit to the Refinery For me,we have created a massive employment for our people, this jobs would have travelled overseas it we keep importing petrol And for those that believe it's cheaper to import, nothing stops the Government from selling to Dangote at a controlled price This can only happen when the whole thing becomes more transparent |
Righteousness2:I am very surprised that people sincerely believe that Donald Trump is on "Righteous agenda" How do you explain a man that has never read the bible, doesn't even prays to your "God",despises people who don't agree with him and lies with ease as a man to enforce God's agenda Anyways, even the Devil joined to assemble with God's angels so this is not a first |
Let FG stop all this medicine after death palliative,we know the game that they are playing I suspect that the FG is getting closer to what the Refinery in Lagos is requesting When he releases the PMS later next month, you will hear things like PMS has dropped from 1000 naira to 750 naira...we know the game Anyways what I know is that NNPCL is doing Nigerians a big disservice by selling at a so called price, creating more artificial scarcity all over the place If you want to sell at a higher price,go ahead and stop all this hide and seek games |
History will be kind to this president for his ability to keep moving the ball forward even as it seems everything is failing around him This president is running like he is not interested in a second term, very unpopular policies but he is doubling down because it needs to be done tiday I visited the coastal road recently, the road from Folu Town (around LaCampaigne Tropicana) to Ode Omi in Ogun State is on Steroids I wish I can share a video here but those guys are working non stop and the progress is evident As for the birthing of a new constitution, Asiwaju is a politician's politician He reads the room very well,he has seen the hand writing on the wall, the north is unhappy and I can bet you,re alignments are going on seriously If he sees that he will not be able to get a second term, believe me he will push through a new constitution I can tell you he will have some good allies that will help him truly restructure and pave the way for Nigeria to get a constitution written by the people... |
There is no thief in NNPCL,but I am sure that there are big men and big women who have lost their moral compass Can somebody explain to me,how this people are still paying salaries to staff of moribund Refineries and Depots scattered all over the country Did you know that if NNPCL was truly a private company, nobody will still be a staff of that company. They have failed on all their Key Performance Index, this people should understand that one day they will wake up,they will go their office but it will be closed, why Because a President will come and stop the circle of waste being unleashed on Nigerians by NNOCL |
The ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest is in its Day 3 today Protesters have been showing their grievance in various locations, also different social media forums have been used by both protesters and counter protesters Below are some very hilarious and thoughtful posts from the protest

Them don dey come, one by one Enemies of progress Them don dey show Fear who fear white man, this people can never mean well for Africans This Refinery is giving them sleepless nights, the Refinery will shut down a lot of Refineries abroad down This people have practically sucked us dry, like bedbugs they have refused to let go I believe they will make sure that Refinery will never work,as for their Nigerian collaborators, may you understand that you are just being used to destroy your nation |
There are two school of thoughts in Nigeria, the first school believes that Nigeria is so bad that nothing good can come from it Then there is the second school of thought that believes in Hope, they are optimistic about the future That optimism is based solely on nothing but Hope... The truth is,two truths can exist together and you can choose what school to belong to As for me,I chose to believe that I still have something to contribute to Nigeria I have seen the Bad,the good and the Ugly and I tell you, Nigeria is a place of opportunities Sometimes,it seems the opportunity is drying up but I still believe it is best to chose anyone that works for you Kindly check my signature to see products from our stable..... |
Let me try to put this subsidy scam in better perspective The winners from subsidy scam 1) Refineries abroad 2) Swap for crude middlemen 3) Parasitic elements in NNPCL 4) Financial Institutions both locally and abroad 5) Tank farm owners 6) Ship owners 7) Fraudulent Insurance companies This group will rather die than see any Nigerian Refinery work The losers from Subsidy scam 1) Nigerians Our case is like the man who is eager to give out his chicken because he was promised an egg He doesn't have the patience to take care of the chicken as long as he gets his egg Over the past 25 years,we have dug a hole that keeps getting bigger, someone is willing to help get out but it seems some people have found a way to keep making from the pit they are digging |
I have taken my time to go through all this back and forth on this issue. The truth is that both sides cannot be absolved of blame Dangote started by insinuating that NNPC has only 7% out of the 20% earlier agreed,NNPCL through the NMDPRA fired back that the refinery is incomplete and the products are substandard. They also said he wants to run a monopoly Dangote fired back by saying that his products are standard and the NNPCL can buy him out so that he will not be in the way of being a monopoly This is a classic game of thrones, who blinks next because I know Dangote is fighting a lot of demons, mafias and principalities holding Nigeria back |
Good article....a rehash of all Nigerian problems without any solutions The whole world knows our problems but they keep prescribing unworkable solutions We must solve our problems ourselves |
This punch editorial is saying a lot of things but not making sense In one word, you condemn the Governors for dissolving democratically elected local government councils and in another breadth you say that council chairmen are irresponsible because they don't pay primary school teachers The same article says that there are only two federating units but in another breadth,it says in the Nigerian Constitution it mentions and lists three federating units This same article talks about America and Brazil,is there any rule that says that any country can't determine what structure of government would work for it Is it not in this same country that Governors loot their states blind, should we now say that because Governors are corrupt,we should scarp states and bring back regions instead Please this article is just playing to the gallery, and I don't blame them In our 24 years of Democratic experience,we have seen our LGAs become a place used by Governors to settle their political touts and aides The LGAs if truly functional is supposed to a place where future leaders are spotted,it creates avenues for councillors to be elected, the circle of political leadership starts from the bottom Who says an LGA Chairman can't raise to be become the president if he performs well Finally, all this talk of corruption must stop,LGA Chairpersons don't have immunity and any chairman that transfers his monthly allocations to the state would have himself to blame What needs to be done is for the Govt., and the media to start sensitizing the public on the role of the LGAs If all organs of Govt. are functioning,it will reduce the pressure on the Federal Government |
Did anyone notice the part about coming to Lagos, let me rest my case |
Congratulations to the New Emir or King(all join) Asiwaju seems to have a talent for spotting kings as his ADC The present Elegushi was once an ADC to Asiwaju, now another one has joined the crown What can say but rephrase that a Kingmaker is best left as one,the day he vias for the crown,he becomes very unpopular |
I weak oooo,I am really trying very hard to understand that the owner of an influential website will open a thread to clear the air on a perceived disagreement with a former moderator I have taken my time to read all the various comments and I can only perceive one issue running through the thread It is an issue of arrogance. Seun,I respect you very much but sometimes silence is golden. You have created a platform that has given a lot of people opportunities to carve a path for themselves in this life but I perceive you are still yet to understand how big a creature you have on your hands. Let me advise you, please delete this thread. It belittles you.At this stage of your life, there are better ways to "fight" certain battles Let me leave it here, but I hope one day you will come to terms with the fact this opportunity that you have will not last forever if you keep going down this road It is well |
This is not rainfall again, this is a flood I feel for those areas that have been resisting every attempt by government to clear all the houses built on waterways and canals, they are in for a long thing If you want to buy property or rent a house, this is the best time to go about it,imagine renting a house and you start getting apprehensive anytime it rains I will stop here and tell you,if you want to get a property use a professional that understands the topology of the area Start with a surveyor before you bring any other professional for landed property, you can sue them if they misadvise you |
I am familiar with the Sangotedo location,I will tell you wholeheartedly that there are some individuals that believe they can do and overdo For those who are familiar with this area, the ongoing road from Ajah to Epe is at the Lagos Business School, precisely around Pertocam filling station The Engineers are trying to create a channel for the water but the canal that was established to serve as an outlet has been totally blocked,by who? By so called developers and Omo onile who sold this land to them I know because a client took me that same property and I strongly advised him not to buy because the results from the Lagos State showed that the area was not usable I plead to all those reading this, get a professional before you buy a property anywhere. You can sue them later if everything goes south |
This initiative if properly harnessed has the capacity to create wealth across board I encourage the minister of youth to go a step forward by listing all the LGAs and products which each one can work on Nigeria is blessed and this type of concept should be driven in collaboration with state and LGAs But something tells me this is just another opportunity to create noise and little action |
This is good news,I congratulate the people at Eyowo for this stride Their story is one of perservarance and having an overcoming spirit From almost losing your business to having to fight get it back, the young people have shown was is possible in Nigeria Once again, big ups to all those at Eyowo |
I have always maintained that Emefiele couldn't have gotten away with such a huge crime without some help from very influential people in the Buhari Administration The man is just taking the fall for all of them,I wouldn't be surprised if one day the guy faints in court and claims he need to travel out I also believe that there are some people in the Buhari Govt. that will forever be quiet as they know that they have been given a soft landing All this humiliations Emefiele is going through is to send a message to this group of people, they should know their place unless they will suffer the same fate |
I want to highlight certain issues in the writeup and also give my analysis also The First is the Size of the Federal Government Workers According to the write up,there are currently 69,308 workers in the employment of the Federal Government.According to my estimates this figure is rather on the High Side I believe we shouldn't have more than 40,000 workers paid directly from the federal purse, the biggest problem today is we have a very large bureaucracy. Most of this workers are also analogue and there is a very huge duplication of duties We need to start the process of automating government process, this figure of 69308 is too high The second is this issue of Individuals travelling and still being on Government payroll. The Government should make it a crime for anyone that does such. There should be punishment if you decide to be "smart". Such Individuals should be made to pay back such monies collected and possibly forfeit assets or jailtime if ever caught Lastly, this issue of Fake employment letter is a serious fraud going on.How did they find their way into the Government payroll. There is definitely a synergy between the workers in IPPIS and the fraudulent individuals Like the issue of individuals travelling and being on payroll, this group should be charged and made to face the music |
Why are Nigerian Businesses not taking advantage of this Refinery I believe that the Refinery has come to stay, there is a lot that the byproducts can be used for and this Refinery is a big advantage to local businesses I know that there is a Lubricating plant already there and also a massive company that produces plastic and other such materials around the location If you desire to get commercial properties to start your business around the Refinery, kindly visit the signature below The Refinery has the capacity to create huge jobs and start the massive Industrialisation we desire if we can use it to our best advantage |
They should sell that thing to this condemned iron guys, total waste of Scarce resources |
Let me give you an update on the work and I want to tell you that you can go and verify all that I am telling you As at today, the 17th June 2024,work is ongoing on four fronts on Lagos to Calabar Super Highway The first part is the Victoria Island to Jakande Estate located on the Lekki Epe Expressway The Second front is the Eleko inner junction (Around Amen Estate) back to Jakande Estate on Lekki Epe Expressway The contractor is currently on site and they are Sandfilling and stabilizing the road Properties have been marked for demolition along this axis in anticipation The Third front is the Eleko inner junction to Folu Junction Some part of the Road is been done by the Dangote and they are already working on delivering on the project The fourth front is from Folu Town to Ogun State Over the past few weeks, the Road Alignment was done by the Surveyors and last week the contractors mobilised to site They have started clearing the Road paths, fortunately not much properties will be affected as most property owners gave set back for the road I have videos and it seems I can't attach to this write up Like I keep posting,it is not too late to get a pie e if the action, kindly click on my signature to learn more |
The Federal Government must be very careful in this minimum wage or minimum salary issue The Government at all levels and the Organized Private Sector must be reasonable in their demands The minimum salary must be closer to between 80k to 100k,it is that or nothing else But we need to understand that minimum wage once passed will affect a lot of private sector workers as they are the largest employers of labour in Nigeria and the truth is most can't afford to increase wages right now I realized don't envy those working on the minimum wage, but at least it is important to give the workers a win win |
Big Ups to Enugu Rangers,042 all the way Nigeria is losing a lot of money from not harnessing the resources available in Sports and Entertainment The first live match I ever watched in my life was at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu I was thrilled, the atmosphere was electric and I really wished to keep going back The second sporting event I watched was a tennis match at the National Stadium,Lagos around year 2006 I was taken by a friend and the plan was to see some people in the stadium,we stumbled on a game of tennis and sincerely I didn't know when I stayed for close to two hours If well harnessed, sports and entertainment have the capacity to lift young people out of poverty and make them very comfortable We can see what Music and Movies have done,it is only left for innovative ideas to create a path for greater prosperity for all |
I watched his HE Prof. Charles Soludo speech on the platform, sincerely I was deeply impressed by his analysis of the problems and the solutions he proffered. My favourite quote was when he said and I quote,"Our future will probably be gotten in our past...." This are the kind of people that should be in the president's inner circle, very adept and insightful My takeaways from the speech by Professor include the following: 1) The same issues we talked about in 2005 are still the same problems in 2024 2) As a nation,we can be making progress and still be standing still 3) We need to start empowering our people, diversify our economy urgently and buy locally made products 4) Nigeria is a poor country, our tax and revenue is currently very low and we are a very indebted nation Prof. took his time to provide figures from 2014 to buttress his point on how our economy is regressing as the GDP per capita has fallen in ten years Let me stop here and encourage everyone to listen to the speech, this is indeed one of Africa's intellectual giants |
Nigeria has finally come full circle, finally one of the active participants in June 12 has become the president of Nigeria It is a pity History is no longer taught in schools. There are four defining moments in our History as a Nation, the first is our Independence from the British, the second is the First military coup, the third is the Civil War and the fourth is June 12 1993 June 12 1993 will go down as the day Nigerians decided to come out and vote in what is described as the most free and fair election ever held in Nigeria, it was a Muslim Muslim Ticket,a Progressive Southern and Conservative Northern Option A4 was adopted, there was minimal thuggery and the candidate MKO Abiola was coasting home to victory, then suddenly the military struck and destroyed everything That single action took Nigeria back by another 20 years, then the wasted years began under the most despotic military regime ever witnessed The struggle for a New Nigeria started,NADECO was formed and the mobilisation started The likes of Chief Frank Kokori,Guerilla journalism under people like Kola Ilori,Opeyemi Bamidele,Nosa Igiebor and underground actors like student union leaders and activist like Chief Gani Fawehinmi,Dr Beko Ransome Kuti,Col Umar(rtd), I want the president to really reflect on today, things have really changed under the last few years and the Economy is really a bad place. June 12 1993 offered a hope of a better Nigeria,a Nigeria that works and a prosperous nation but what we have now is looking like the complete opposite |
I sense that Dangote Refinery is waiting for something, the organization is seriously hoping for what I believe is the realistic price of petrol The truth is Diesel and Aviation Fuel is being sold and it is being given out at between 950 to 1150 for marketers, nobody needs to tell you that Dangote Refinery can't sell below 800 naira to marketers,it is a no brainer The challenge now is who will pay the difference in price for his petrol,I am sure that he already has plans to start exporting it already to neighboring countries It is a tough call and I am sure we will be watching to see if Government will subsidize the Crude oil sold to him to stabilize the price I sincerely hope Nigerian Entrepreneurs take up the challenge and start looking at setting up industries around the byproduct of crude oil There are tens of products that can be produced and hopefully the Lagos State Government can collaborate with the Refinery to look at the possibility of generating and distribution of Electricity in Ibeju and Epe in Lagos and also places like Ogun Waterside LGA in Ogun State If this is done,Nigeria is ready for massive Industrialisation Did I forget to mention the Coastal road also... |
I will never stop shouting it,the Federal Government must start the process of privatizing all the Scrap metals called Refineries The Senate president over the weekend visited the Dangote Refinery over the weekend and I believe they must now see reason why all the Refineries and Depots must go Those Scrap metals are Nigeria's Bermuda triangle,it keeps asking for more and yet producing absolutely nothing As for the audit,I believe the president has been looking for a way to nail the NNPCL GMD,the man has overstayed his welcome He should start preparing his handover notes. And for all Engineers working in those Scrap metals,I advise you request a 3 month Sabbatical leave so you can go to Dangote Refinery and see how a Refinery works...NNPCL is the real defination of how you can't shame the shameless |
I took my time to read this article and sincerely Salihu Lukman is very correct. This Government dropped the ball from Day One but it will be unfair to them to claim they have not tried very hard to get it right There are three key areas this Government must quickly find a way to engage and clear the mess because not doing so can further hurt their hard work The first is the area of Agriculture, the prices of everyday foodstuffs keep soaring and sincerely there seems to be no end.The Government must as a matter of urgency open the Land borders for foodstuffs to be brought in.There is no shame in admitting that we need help,a lot of it right now This can be temporary but it must be done within the next six weeks The Second is Electricity. The Federal Government has handed over to the states the go ahead to start generating and distribution of Electricity. This move is laudable but more is needed..It is like when a toddler starts to walk, you don't leave them alone you still need to guide them Electricity is money consuming, you need lots of money to become a player in that sector. The FG can help states by providing grants for those that need it and technical know how before they become independent The third is Security. Almost Everyone seems to agree that we need a semblance of local policing in our villages and towns as the Nigerian police is stretched thin to police the country. The president should shoulder the responsibility of getting the needed votes to create the State police bill and possibly amend the constitution to do so Nigeria is seriously being tried by non state actors and their action is partly responsible for the low harvest by farmers in certain parts of Nigeria My submission is that the President needs to start preparing the Nigerian Omelette and he will need to break some eggs to achieve it |
Let me use this opportunity to congratulate NLC and TUC,they have done their part SNF the ball is now in the Governmnts's court Sometimes you need to call people's bluff to be taken seriously and the trade unions surely did their best to get their message across As for the Federal Govt.,I pray the Govt. declares a state of emergency in both the Agriculture and Power sector Those two pillars are what is responsible for the anger and hunger in the Land The President should personally take charge of those two ministries until there are changes Once the power sector is up,it affects all sectors of the economy, the same with the Agriculture sector Feed your people so that whatever wage you give will have meaning to them |
