Politics / Re: No Half Measures, Tinubu, Sell Refineries - Punch Editorial Board by Kenochi(m): 8:27am On Jan 23
I align myself wholly with the thinking of the Punch Editorial Board, this administration must sell off those scrap metals called Refineries, there is nothing that stops them from selling two of the Refineries for a start and hold on to two of those scrap metals pending when they sell it
The NNPCL cannot handle a Refinery, that era in the organisation is far gone. The only thing that the Refinery is to the NNPCL is just a conduit pipe for looting the Nation dry, nothing else
The greatest legacy this government will leave is to sell off those scarp metals and unbundle Nigeria from the shackle of waste associated with the Scrap metals

Politics / Re: Dangote Refineries Plan Supply To 150,000 IPMAN Stations by Kenochi(m): 6:46am On Jan 22
When we tell people that there is a difference between talk and do,and cheap propaganda they will disagree
I have always told anyone who needs convincing to go and verify for themselves what is happening at the Refinery,I don't want to speculate but as we await the approval and release of Refined products this is going to be the end of some businesses in Nigeria
I read in a thread yesterday that Tank Farm owners in Apapa are a bit confused on their situation as they don't know what to do
People like Otedola and Oando had already divested all their ownership from the downstream sector for close to two years because they knew that once the Refinery starts, they will be at the mercy of Dangote
As for IPMAN,l wish them well,at least there will be enough products to wet the entire nation for days to come, this should serve as a serious warning to certain groups of people.
Let me end with a quote from Joseph Lenin, the father of modern day Russia: “There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.”

Dangote,Dangote,Dangote still dey make money
Who I be,Who I be
Wey I no go hurstle for my money
Wey I no go hurstle for my money

Lyrics from Grammy award winning Oluwa Burna

I said it in an earlier thread that Dangote will hit 10 billion dollars increase in Valuation, the Nigerian Stock Market is reacting to some form of good news emanating from the Nigerian Economy
Despite all the closures and stoppages, kidnapping and banditry, the Stock Exchange is appreciating and has become the best in the world. There is a big buzz about something, and the naysayers and Doomsday prophet are not catching it.They are fixated on the terrible things going on while some people are cashing out big time
As we await the Dangote Refinery roll out of products,I am very confident that it will further boost investor confidence in the market
Now is the best time to invest in Oil&Gas Stocks and Financial Stocks, they will be the biggest winners from this earth shaking moment
I need to add I am not taking excuses for whatever is happening in Nigeria, but I will encourage you to open your eyes as Nigerians
All this sudden increase in Kidnapping and Banditry should let you know that the market still believes in the Nigerian Economy

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Poverty Reduced By Seven Per Cent – World Bank by Kenochi(m): 11:51am On Jan 20
What really is the purpose of Statistics and like a presidential candidate asked,na statistics we go chop?
Statistics show the progress and failure that are being accomplished by any individuals or groups
It also aids proper planning
In the case of Nigeria,I dare to say that are dependent on outsiders to show the progress and state of our affairs
In a country that we can't even number ourselves properly,we are at the mercies of external bodies to help us
Even the NIgeria Bereau of Statistics realizes on sampling of population size which can sometimes be questioned to the accuracy of methods used

Coming back to the issue at hand,I don't want to disagree with the figures released until we have a superior statistics, whether we want to admit it or not,the internet is becoming a tool for alleviating poverty in Nigeria
You may ask how, let's start with a place like Nairaland,I know that there are people who have through the platform gotten jobs, started Business and even our Nairaland Beggars are being pulled out of poverty

This is just a platform, when we now talk of various social media platforms and internet platforms which are used to empower and create opportunities for people
It is now left for those in power to begin to look at a way of formalising this sector and bring them into mainstream job figures
The Minister of Digital Economy should not think his job is limited to only big brands like google and Facebook,he should work with every sector of the Digital Space to empower and enlighten Nigerians
Politics / Re: Naira Gains As Dollar Liquidity Rises By 155.03% by Kenochi(m): 11:13am On Jan 20
It is when we start understanding the problem of this country, then we will start looking for the solutions as well
Let me quote the biggest problem facing our foreign exchange in Nigeria according to the Report: :
"This pressure is attributed to the increasing demand for imported goods and services, fueled by an overall GDP growth that falls short of meeting domestic needs.
“The FX market will continue to be under pressure, driven by rising demand for imported goods and services – overall GDP growth is not high enough to meet domestic needs,” analysts at FSDH research said.

This is a problem that can be solved only by our leaders, let them lead from the front by patronizing locally made goods

Also,I disagree with a part of the Report that states that no noticable changes will come as a result of the Refining of crude oil by both the Dangote Refinery and Port Harcourt Refinery which will reduce the strain on our foreign exchange,we are talking about close 9 billion dollars every year

I strongly believe we will get a better picture by the Middle of this year when all this Refineries start full operations and all importations of Refined products end
Politics / Re: Ex-Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma Arrives In Nigeria by Kenochi(m): 9:45pm On Jan 19
The Biggest Mistake made by our leaders was the removal of History in our syllabus. It seems there is a present crop of Nigerians who weren't taught or refuse to understand the powers possessed by Nigeria in West Africa and Africa in General.
When Liberia,Sierra Leone and even South Africa were undergoing tribulations and apartheid regimes,Nigeria stood up to be counted and acted as a rallying point for Africans
Nigerians invested a lot of money and human lifes for peace to be restored in countries like Liberia and Sierra Leone.I pray that the Nigerian military will open up their archives to allow groups like our Nollywood Industry tell their stories of sacrifice, pain and victories which they recorded during this turbulent period in West Africa
Coming to the topic at Hand,Nigeria is gradually becoming a beacon of democracy in West Africa and let me assure Nigerians that the whole world is watching and taking notes. All this diplomatic favours Nigeria is dishing out to countries in West Africa,a day will come for Nigeria to cash in these favours.
I salute Asiwaju for quickly understanding this diplomatic game, projecting Nigeria as a bastion of Democracy in Africa and putting an halt to any military take over in West Africa.
Let me end by welcoming the Sierra Leone ex president and urging him to understand that he will be sent back if he tries to meddle in overthrowing the government back home

Politics / Re: List Of Oil Marketers Approved By Dangote Refinery To Lift Refined Products by Kenochi(m): 8:10am On Jan 19
I was reading somewhere yesterday on a thread on why the Dangote Refinery didn't start with petrol (PMS), instead of starting with Diesel and Aviation fuel
I sincerely believe that starting with any product at all is progress,I also believe that they will eventually start releasing Petrol very soon into the Nigerian Market

The Nigerian Economy is run on Generators which are powered by AGO and also for those using the Airlines there will be some kind of Respite
Will the price reduce? We eagerly await the loading which will start at the end of January
I want to salute the Spirit of Mr Aliko Dangote,he is really opening up the Economy and allowing indigenous players an opportunity to make money
I felt very sad when a Report was released last week indicating that of the Six ships which loaded crude oil from Agbami Fields in Delta State to the Dangote Refinery, not one was owned by a Nigerian
This means that all the dollars that would be paid out for this transactions will be pocketed by Foreigners, also it means that NNPCL has been giving out this service to Foreigners and Nigerians have lost out from this ventures
Although I am aware that there is a Local Content Board, they need to step up and start providing support to Nigerians who desire to play in the Oil and Gas Sector

Politics / Re: FG Seeks $1.5bn Loans To Shore Up Naira, Boost Budget by Kenochi(m): 8:57am On Jan 18
It seems Nigerians are in for a long thing this year, the way this government is going about borrowing money is becoming too close for comfort. This Government needs to come clean on certain issues, the foreign exchange shortfall is something that requires serious critical thinking
Until we answer some very pertinent questions as to our ability to generate forex as a country, this short cut of borrowing can never be sustainable

Any business in this country who is not making plans to add income from the Diaspora will struggle this year, the only way out for us as a country is to begin to look at other avenues to generate foreign exchange
This will include reforming the way the country is structured, giving more powers to the state to determine their destiny and earn extra foreign exchange instead waiting for the federal government
I believe states should be allowed to create structures that will allow them earn foreign exchange, this will reduce pressure on the federal government to keep constantly looking for foreign exchange for the whole country

Politics / Re: FG To Save ₦‎8 Trilion Annually From Subsidy Removal, FX Reform - Taiwo Oyedele by Kenochi(m): 8:48am On Jan 17
I am in complete agreement with Mr Taiwo Oyedele, this government would save a lot of money from Subsidy Removal. It is a no brainer,Nigeria will benefit immensely from the operations of both the Dangote Refinery and the Port Harcourt Refinery when they both begin operations
This is due to the the fact the most imported products as at the Third Quarter were petroleum products. This alone cost Nigeria close to 9 billion dollars in 2022

The biggest challenge I have is the continuous fall of the Naira,it is almost unfathomable that we are still seeing the decline, something tells me there are factors which are not adding up
I am confident though that when we start the anticipated large scale economic activities from the Refineries will scale up the Rise of the Naira
It is not a matter of if,but when

Why is every good thing in the Niger Delta always coming from Akwa Ibom,I must doff my heart for the good people es of Akwa Ibom who have consistently elected or chosen leaders who care about the people
The type of projects embarked on by the Government of Akwa make you wonder why States like Delta and Edo are always competing for least developed regions
This is a state that has built a Stadium,Built an Airport and has an Airline,it seems that Akwa Ibom might need to lend out some of their leaders to some states in Nigeria
I still ask, what are the Signature projects in some of our Niger Delta states and Nigeria
It is a shame that with all the money collected, they have nothing to show for it

Investment / Re: Dangote’s Stocks Appreciate By N514bn, After Refinery Take Off by Kenochi(m): 2:37pm On Jan 16
My people, una never see anything.Dangote is still going to hit one trillion naira increased valuation before the end of this quarter
When we tell people that that Refinery will push Dangote into 50 richest people in the world, they think we are speaking parables
Now everyone is seeing what we have always known.
This Refinery collected Raw Materials of 420 million dollars in just six weeks and another 280 million dollars is being reserved for him in February
As for those shouting that the Refinery will not impact the Nigerian Economy,I laugh in Swahili
The jobs and Industries that will be created as a spinoff from this Refinery will be unbelievable

For some of us,we took the bold step of investing early and sincerely now is the best time to invest in that corridor
I sincerely believe that properties around that Location will soon be priced in Dollars and it is a fact

Politics / Re: Shell To Sell Nigeria Onshore Oil Business For $1.3 Billion by Kenochi(m): 10:58am On Jan 16
Let me take sometime to educate Nigerians before some people will come here and start claiming that the Economy is failing
Most operators in Nigeria's Upstream Oil and Gas Sector know that their game is up,there was a time Nigeria through the NNPCL had to resort to the importation of Refined Crude oil for close to 20 years. This allowed NNPCL and most Oil and Gas companies to participate in the controversy Oil Swap
Most Oil and Gas Companies used this fraudulent practice to shortchange the country, they collected crude oil and brought back Refined crude oil and still collected subsidy. Nigeria was fair game and all this big Oil companies looted Nigeria dry
Then something happened, the Dangote Refinery was mooted and this would put an end to this evil practice. Most Oil Companies knee that if this Refinery ever started their easy money was over
My people, this is what is happening. I am confident that more Oil companies will leave the country because their access to free money is gone for good

I commend Tantita and the security personnel for catching this group of sabos,it is time that people understand that they need to get something else doing, this idea of destroying our infrastructure just because you want to make wealth must be discouraged at all cost

All this the military built infrastructure are very ignorant,no Nigerian dead or alive can ever be as rich as our ex military heads of state, take it or leave it

There was no house of Assembly during the military, this guys just enriched themselves at the expense of the people,Let me sound a strong warning to all this military apologist,if you want a military administration we will appeal to Government to create a special zone for military regime to take place and we will encourage all sympatheziers of the military to gladly relocate to the place

Politics / Re: NNPC Seeks Private Companies To Operate Port Harcourt Refinery by Kenochi(m): 12:06pm On Jan 15
This is very good news,I salute the honesty of the NNPCL management for starting the process of full privatisation of all our Refineries
I have always stated that the last time any type of Refining was done in Nigeria was close to 15 years ago.All the personnel that know how to operate a Refinery are either retired or on their way out of the place. I have consistently maintained that the best policy that the Asiwaju Government can enact is to privatise at least two of the Refineries and I believe this is a step towards full privatisation
For those that will want to argue with this policy,my thoughts are as follows.
The people in NNPCL have already sold their soul, this is a company that has imported Refined crude oil in the past twenty years, they have mortgaged their conscience and they know that running a Refinery is hard work
They are used to short cuts and now that the Hardwork has come, they are not willing to do it

All the people counting when the Refinery starts, what is your gain. I always laugh when I see folks just create threads that are sincerely very funny. Let me repeat again,go and verify.Don't take anybody's word for it,visit the place and verify if the Refinery is working or not
Some of us have no Reason to doubt the Refinery because we are always on that site at least twice a week
Also, are you are aware that Dangote has a landing berth separate from the Lekki Deep Seaport where he handles vessels for both importations and exportation of materials

Politics / Re: N585 Million Fraud: Tinubu Will Take Final Decision - APC Governors by Kenochi(m): 4:07am On Jan 12
The APC governors are right on this, let the investigation continue, when the results are out, whoever is complicit should face the effects of the investigations
I have been really taking my time to hear and listen to all sides of the story in respect of this Bettagate and my submission is as follows:

1) The Honorable Minister acted very immaturely,it is a case of allowing your greed and supposed closeness to those in power cover your cloud of Reasoning
There is no way she won't have known that what she did was wrong, yet because of her closeness to power she succumbed to her greed

2) The Humanitarian Ministlry is a cesspit of corruption
A Ministry set up to alleviate poverty is now causing poverty in the Land,I strongly believe this is the right time to conduct a thorough audit in that ministry
I am convince that all decision making organs in that ministry need to be investigated thoroughly
The ease with which funds are laundered in that ministry is a source of concern, imagine misappropriating over 40 billion between the former Ministers and staff of the Ministry and no one was able to raise any query or alert those in power to such practices
My take is that they have all been compromised and it will not surprise me if the so called list of poor people contains the names of their family members and hangers on

Finally,I submit that all young people in government must for now be made Ministers of state
They should understudy people before they are allowed to handle sensitive position, they act like children in a candy store, they want to eat everything they see no knowing that the end is always bitter

The Dangote Refinery has collected Raw Materials worth 350 million dollars in 5 weeks

The Raw materials will provide finished products worth trillons of naira

Let me take time to congratulate this maestro and undisputed queen of the Nigerian Cinema, the legendary Ms Funke Akindele.
The great thing about this feat was the various records it broke. From the opening weekend record of 100 million+ to crossing over the 1 Billion Naira mark is worthy of commendation
I met Ms Funke Akindele about 30 years ago,she started this dance group and she was recruiting people to join the group, she was barely a teenager but from that age she knew want she wanted to become
Over the years, she has stayed true to this craft,The Arts is her first love and she has clearly shown that "abinibi o yato si ability" which translated means a talent is very different from working the gift.
She has shown that when you stay consistent to your dreams, you will sit with Kings. She contested an election in 2023 and lost, she dust herself up and before the End of the same year she came back with a Big Hit
I encourage all young people to learn a lesson from this Amazon, that a talent is never enough, you must do the work and stay consistent

What was said in this article is something some of us have always known
The price of Diesel as at December 2023 is over 1,000 while Kerosene and Aviation Fuel are between 700 to 1000+. No one needs to tell you that Petrol is being subsidized, forget whatever comes out from NNPCL
I have always said on some threads that Government needs to find a way to subsidize Diesel, Nigeria is perhaps the only economy in the world that is powered by Generators,it is very funny that this Government is still dilly dialing on what to do with our Electricity challenges
Funny Enough, the article has talked about the solution to reducing prices, once both the Dangote Refinery and Port Harcourt Refinery start operations,it is going to be game over for all this subsidy madness
I seriously encourage this Government to look at the possibility of fully privatising at least two of our Refineries
I don't understand why we need to have four Refineries, sell off two of those scrap metals to people who can run them
As for our Electricity woes,I still believe that Government should stop this National Grid Madness
Let states and Corporate Organizations start producing and distributing power to their citizens.Nothing stops this country from having 36 or more power distribution and generation companies
Who says a company can't generate electricity and sell to just a few customers, this idea that all Power generated must be fed to the National Grid must be critically assessed
