Not my business with whatever they decide to do with their lives. Abi1985: Except a woman has made up her mind that she does not want to have kids. Having children at a fertile age is key. Please do not wait too long to settle down or marry. It is not easy for many women after the age of 35 to 40s to conceive children. It is very possible for a woman to have children in her 40s and even 50s but the chances are not high compared to a woman in her 20s.
Should a woman marry a madman or have a baby with an irresponsible man because one wants to have kids? Definitely no.
Do not fall into the category of a woman who is so focused on her careers or degree that she ignore to date or ignore life after work. That PhD can wait if you already have a Master. |

Politics › Re: PDP Member Emerges As Speaker In Apga-dominated Southeast State by Kentursky(m): 3:30pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
He defected. He was an APGA member only that he lost his party's ticket, crossed over to PDP, won the election and went back to APGA. jerryayaebi2: A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker, representing Ogbaru II Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has emerged the Speaker of the APGA dominated state assembly during the inauguration of the 8th assembly held at the state assembly complex in Awka, on Monday, June 11.
The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), the ruling party in the state, has 17 members in the state assembly; Labour Party (LP) has 8 members; the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has 4 members; and the Young Progressive Party (YPP) has 2 members in the House.
Legit.ng's regional reporter in Anambra, Mokwugwo Solomon, noted that the legislators unanimously elected and affirmed the PDP lawmaker through a voice vote.
Also, the member representing Awka South II Constituency, Hon Chukwuma Okoye (APGA), emerged as Deputy Speaker of the House. In his address, Governor Charles Soludo, who inaugurated the 8th state assembly, expressed gratitude for the smooth manner the election was conducted.
He congratulated the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and all the newly elected members, observing that the swearing-in ceremony and administration of oath of office and allegiance marked a turning point in his administration's effort to create liveable and prosperous Anambra.
The governor emphasized that with the reconstitution of the Assembly, a new partnership has emerged that will form a team for a prosperous Anambra.
Soludo said, "We all share the same ambition and goal. Four political parties are represented in this Assembly, but we are all employees of the people, to serve and carry out their will, together with the Executive and Judiciary for the goal of one Anambra, one people and one agenda. "It's like a vehicle, whichever political party it is that brings you to this hallowed chamber, the assembly. Project Anambra is the only political party that unites all of us."
Professor Soludo maintained that in order to serve the people of Anambra better, the three arms of government must cooperate.
He emphasized that it is a call to duty and that given the delicate nature of the state and the fact that the needs of the people cannot wait, there is no time to waste in merriment.
He added, "We hope that the 8th assembly will be the most productive one ever. To provide a liveable and prosperous Anambra, we have a comprehensive list of legislative frameworks. "I can sense the energy in this chamber, and I'm asking you all to keep it up so that Anambra Assembly can grow for the benefit of the state. We are the light of the nation, and that light will never go out. Reread your oath of office and allegiance, and paste it on your walls at home."
In his acceptance speech, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, assured Governor Soludo that the House is duly constituted and ready to receive communication from the Executive arm.
He lauded the governor for his efforts aimed at developing the state, and urged the members to glue together, regardless of political party affiliation. Udeze acknowledged that according to their schedule, eight members were qualified for the speakership position. He assured that for the confidence reposed in him, he will not disappoint.
He urged his colleagues to prepare for the huge task that lies ahead of them, pointing out that the legislature can only function well when it is in unity with the executive. He also affirmed that under his leadership, legislative intentions in the areas of insecurity, youth unemployment, road infrastructure, and other urgent issues would be met.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Okwy Igwegbe, APGA National Chairman, Barr.
Sylvester Ezeokenwa, Members of the State Executive Council, the Traditional institution, among others attended the event.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi Accusing INEC Of Bias, Shows He Is Ignorant Of The Law by Kentursky(m): 7:09am On Apr 26, 2023 |
Don't you know that Peter Obi is not sound? lhordspy: The electioneering period really exposes alot of politicians, supporters, political analyst as political learners and law abecedarian with rudimentary knowledge of the law, ignorant about how things work.
After Peter Obi slammed INEC for backing Tinubu at the presidential tribunal. It is now very clear Peter Obi is ignorant of the law or maybe this is just the usual deliberate attempt at painting INEC bad and in return invoking pity-party
According to the report:
https://www.nairaland.com/7666380/peter-obi-slams-inec-backing#122746366
The response is laughable and it portrays gross display of ignorance because according to the petition filed to the election tribunal by Peter Obi and Labour party, INEC is listed as not just a mere joint respondent but the 1st respondent in the petition. Peter Obi and Labour party sued INEC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and APC, so it is understandable INEC defend itself. Asides been the referee or more like an umpire during the election which requires it to stand by the result the commission declared, by proving the election was rightly conducted and the winner rightfully declared. INEC as a respondent also has the right to defend themselves by responding to the petition of the petitioner because as a respondent, they are also party to the case.
To elucidate the fact, if you can recall, after the Worldcup final game between Argentina and France. The french supporters alleged irregularities in the game. The Referee had to come out to the press to defend the result by reaffirming the match was fairly played and Argentina is the rightful winner of the final. Same goes to suing a student for obtaining a result from a university on account of malpractice or irregularities and at the same time also suing the university for awarding the result to the student. The university has every right to defend the validity of the result in court in favour of the student by proving the degree was rightfully issued by university to the student and also proving the student is worthy and deserving of the result.
It is surprising to realise that Peter Obi who filed the petition at the election tribunal with INEC as the first respondent; is still the same person criticising INEC for trying to prove the validity of result declared by the commission. In Court, no one cares about your emotional driven opinion. Something Peter Obi should know. |
