9jakool: I don't know about PH. Ondo state alone has so many top notch specialist hospitals. The past governor really tried.
It looks like your planned cities are not planned at all..... how can a city lack free public amenities... The top notch hospitals you are saying are most probably private hospitals which are majorly out of reach for the common citizen. In Mombasa there are also specialist hospitals but the public ones are majority best.
MOMBASA VISAL OSHWAL PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL 1. Free education offered to all students 2. Free laptops & tabs to all pupils 3. Free books & learning materials to all students 4. All co-carricular sports amenities provided free by National Government.
Nowenuse: I think Mombasa's rail is inter-city and not intra-city.
@Forgiveness, i see no reason comparing Nigerian and Kenyan cities. They are all developing. None has perfected anything. See Mombasa has a better inter-city rail network, while PH has a better intra-city rail network.
We are all still yet to get there.
It was just a matter of showing the infrastructure within and out of this cities.... Mombasa doesn't need require an extensive intra city network since majority of the city is on the island. The main SGR links it to major towns around Mombasa County.
Thats magnificient structure is the Mombasa terminal... About it functioning i thought you watched the video or you lack enough data bundles to watch the video . Nigerian poor cellular network can be a problem bro, i understand your struggle.
Meanwhile the Kenyan SGR train has a capacity of 1000 passengers travelling at a minimum 120km/h and maximum of 180km/hr.
forgiveness: Kisumu vs Uyo Because Ibadan will knock out Kisumu one time if we consider the criteria l listed before and the ones below.
I will always considered many factors before I can give a proper verdict on these cities. Pictures can't do without pinpoint what are the things obtainable in them.
Population Amenities (Total) Cost of Living Price of Gas Total Crimes/100K Violent Crimes/100k High School Graduation Rate Students/Teacher Median Household Income Commute Time Median Home Price Median Rent Temp Air Quality Unemployment Rate Recent Job Growth Sales Taxes Income Taxes
These are we need to have critical analysis step by step the best.
Starting with population, Port Harcourt wins.
Do you agree?
Now, you can do the second rating. This will be the big deal.
Mombasa city- 2nd biggest & busiest port in Africa Capacity as of 2016 1. 23m tons of cargo 2. 1m TEU- Twenty foot equivalent units 3. Serves Uganda, Kenya, East Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Ethiopia, S. Sudan & Somaliland.
freshest4live: Lol, l know you do not like his tone, but l think l understand why he speaks this way, because growing up in my family we saw Tanzanian ITV in our cable stations, which was widespread then but saw and knew very little of Kenya and Ethiopia except the sportsmen who ran. The first time l saw pictures of Nairobi on the internet( in 2008) while reading about Obama, l was stunned. I also read in a magazine some time after that on how Bill Gates enjoyed his time in Kenya, and also this thread has enlightened me as well and l hope to visit kenya someday, not as a refugee or drug dealer though, lol.
You are most welcome in Kenya but please be on your best behavior, don't mention that you are Nigerian. I would advise you to say maybe Ghanaian since they uphold a certain stereotype in comparison to Naija materials. Kenya is relatively cheap & if possible in all means whatsoever don't interact with your fellow country men coz you will end up regretting meeting them. They are trouble in each & every way.
naijalander: As Africans, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Kikuyu, Luo, Kalenjin, Masai, Zulu, Xhosa, Akan, etc, let us this week strive to improve the continent wherever we are. Let us made better choices, for the good of all dark skinned folk every where. I love you all no matter what!
For once you have made sense.... may this spirit stick to your heart before you renegade on it & start belittling the country Kenya that has made you what you are. The Kenya that has taught you that there is hope beyond that scam of a country Nigeria. God bless your soul.
shervydman: then u must be a fool for saying this....... where does those that stays in ur slums defecate?
I know how it pains knowing very well that Kibera is undergoing a transformation like never before.... This are before and after pictures of Kibera slum upgrading program
obaaderemi: I don't know why you keep posting stuffs kenya also suffers from?If kenya provides public toilet in every town, how come over 80% of turkana practice open defecation? Most of africa suffers from it,maybe at different levels. You can only brag about such things when you have eliminated it in your own domain. http://kenyanewsagency.go.ke/en/turkana-loses-heavily-due-to-health-issues/
Try another one bro.... Turkana county is one of the most sparsely populated areas in Kenya and East africa as a whole. The inhabitants are less than 300k in an area the size of Ghana, Guinea, E. Guinea, Rwanda, Burundi, Togo, Gabon combined. The region is mainly inhabited by nomads who rear cattle and have no permanent residence. Turkana county has only 1 town and the facilities are free as stated.
fanficgirl: This is similaar to every African cointry lol.
That is entirely not true... your statement lacks in basic facts. Its a fact that North African countries like Libya, Tunisia and Morocco unlike Nigeria who have same natural resources is that them North Africans have used their resource to enrich its people. Nigeria has used its reserves to oppress its citizens, how can a country being 8th largest producer of oil but cannot sustain any major public funded infrastructural development. Can you rate Kenya's development record in the last 20yrs in comparison to Nigeria's own record over the same period in this sectors? 1. Transport 2. Currency 3. Education 4. Health 5. Economic
