chris2h: THE IMPLICATIONS OF GENERAL TY DANJUMAS COMMMENTS: THE DESTRUCTION OF NIGERIA BY CHRISTOPHER HARUNA HAMMAN
Over the weekend I did not have the time to take a look at the news as I always do due to the fact that I made new friends and was getting to understand them and their personalities (again as I always do). Only for this morning for me to wake up to check my e-mails and social media accounts to find out that one of our great legends and a national icon all by himself had addressed a group of young people at their convocation and within the address called on people to take up arms in the interest of self defense.
General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma is a legend all by himself. Agreed. However, he seems to want to destroy the very fabric of the country that made him so. The middle belt of this great country is the great uniting factor that bridges the divide between the conservatism of the north and the liberalism of the south. It is the very region that ultimately decides who wins or loses the presidential elections. It is the very place upon which the cradle of our national unity is birthed. Then you have one of the greats from that region call for the taking up of arms. One would then realize that we still have a long way to go in uniting Nigeria.
One obvious truth about the herdsman killings which cannot be ignored is that they employ guerrilla tactics in order to maintain an upper hand in the fluidity of conflict. As such, the balance of power when it comes to victory always lies in the hands of the so called herdsmen. As it is always with the rest of state when it comes to putting together an appropriate response to the newly formed menace, the government will take some time before results from all they are trying to do start to show.
One may fault the current administration on many things (which I do from time to time, just check my facebook wall), but not on security. The one thing that I have found to be quite impressive is President Buhari's commitment to the ensuring of the safety of lives and property of every Nigerian.
General Danjuma has just shot himself in the foot. This is because this is not 1980 or even 1998 that people will forget his statements in a hurry. This brings to the fore the issue of the Generals'minders and communications advisers. Were they asleep when he made those comments? He has just influenced a whole generation of young people to fight anyone that does not resemble them either in tribe, interest or religion and has forgotten that the great state of Nigeria owes its very existence to the unity in diversity concept that makes us the powerhouse that we are.
We cannot ignore the Nigeria becoming Somalia comment. We should not forget that it is words like these from people like him that cause the very scenarios that made such places to become known for the carnage and destruction that occurred. Nigeria is too big for anyone who has become like a living demigod to some to wake up one day and call for civil violence on a massive scale. Imagine if every person in Nigeria who can bear arms to have a gun, imagine what kind of destruction and waste to human life can occur on such a scale? The military is right on this one and the restriction of arms is not a bad thing in itself. It is for our security nationally.
Probably it is time for the General at 80 to take some time off to relax and enjoy his family. Such comments that fan the flames and embers of national disunity with the hints of insurrection and are not needed especially considering the fact that next year is an election year or is General TY trying to tell us something that we need to know politically? Is this what the General wants to be known for? A conflict creator?
Nigerias' future depends on the ability of Nigerians to believe in Nigeria. It appears that even the General has stopped believing in the Nigeria that made him what he is today. And many Nigerians were hailing his comments and supporting the bearing of arms by the general civilian populace. Only if they understood the very implications of those comments. That is when and where you hear things like mass genocide, civil war and so on and so forth. Anybody who understands the results of warfare would be careful to speak when talking about such things.
We as Nigerians should believe in the politics of ideas. Not one of tribe, religion or separatist sentiments. Imagine if the Northern Muslims and Southern Christian Generals and National Icons also call for the bearing of arms. What kind of scenario would that create?
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. United we stand. Divided we fall! I'm sure you've not lived in fear of been attacked by enemies before. So... You're saying the people shouldn't defend themselves after losing 78 souls, but wait on Nigerian Army that couldn't stop Boko Haram from kidnapping school girls to save them. I wish your family to be exposed to such situation. |

Look at how Charlie Boy used a single night's protest to force BUHARI the listening president back to Nigeria. Igbo should vote what they think is best for them. If I'm voting at all, I will vote Buhari, because his policies are fueling disintegration of the state of Nigeria, indirectly helping the independent state of Biafra. |

If you were not a slowpoke I would have asked you to go through Igbodefender posts, and you will see how we have campaigned vigorously for #ComercialCattleRanching as the answer to this kind of thing, probably more vigorously than your lazy louty self. Now bugger off I've noticed you trolling and phishing the net with the hell theory of vote Buhari, a man that couldn't keep terms with those that brought him to power, a man who lies and reneges at every single agreement. You a good student of history, so... the blood shed should continue because of Igbo presidency, and the economy should collapse, and insurgents over run our cities because of your black brain? As intelligent as you think you're, which security force is under the governor?, which law enforcement agency is going to enforce the state law if be any? Politics › Re: 2019: Gang Up To Distract Buhari/osinbajo, An Effort In Futility by kernel505: 4:47pm On Mar 23, 2018 |
Wada3: The race for 2019 general election has commenced with maximum alacrity. To some politicians, it is a matter of life and death. Why others sees it as a normal perennial political activities that will come and go.
It is no longer news that the timetable for 2019 general election was released late this year by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). With the release, the level of politicking has taken a new face; with those who mean well for the country supporting Buhari/Osinbajo for re-election, and some other with selfish desires, affected by the anticurruption crusade of the present government looking for alternative, doing whatever that is humanly possible to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
In their quest to pursue this evil orchestration against the Buhari led government, they have identified some of their cronies who are very good in fabricating falsehood, using their expertise to deceive and mislead Nigerians as they have done in the past. But, guess what, Nigerians have gone pass that. The major areas identified by these evil incarnates in their myopic sense to mislead people are to: 1. Fabricating falsehood using religion sentiment against the present leadership 2. Concocting unfounded allegations using ethnicity against the leadership. 3. Misrepresenting facts in order to score cheap political point. At the moment, the known individuals put forward to do these aforementioned dirty jobs for them are: Femi Fani Kayode, Dr. Zunaid Mohammed, Reno Omokri, Ayo Adebanjo, Akin Osuntokun, etc. It was not clear whether if Odumakin accepted a role. At the point of writing this article, it was reported that the advocators of this evil strategy are said to be looking for more persons especially from the North Central zones who will use and misrepresent the herdsmen farmers conflict. It was also reported that their effort to co-opt a particular known voice from the South East did not yield results as the person in question told them that the ongoing construction of 2nd Niger bridge has made him to be indifferent, that even the Jonathan he supported never did anything for the eastern region. Furthermore, the quest to get the names of other recruits is on. I will definitely keep the public posted as soon as that is uncovered.
In view of the above, it is incumbent on all of us to inform Nigerians about the plans of corrupt elements and their cronies to portray the present government in the bad light even when the evidences at our disposal is proofing otherwise. There is a proverb that said: "a fool at 40 is a fool forever. Within the 8 years of Obasanjo, over 16 billion naira was channeled to power sector, it ended in the personal pockets with the power at 4000mgwt, yet you expect Nigerians to reject Buhari/Osinbajo that increased the generation to 7000mgwt without spending much. What do you take us for? Before PDP took over the mantle of leadership in 1999, textile factories and railways were very efficient and effective, before God's intervention in Nigeria's affairs in 2015, the textiles and the train were dead. And you expect Nigerians to reject Buhari/Osinbajo who within 3 years despite the meagre revenue at their disposal have revived and provided enough coaches for train to work again and have contracted so many rail line to connect Nigeria cities. What do you actually think Nigerians are? For 16 years, despite the massive revenue that came your way, you never make an attempt to construct Second Niger bridge, but, you expect Nigerians to reject Buhari/Osinbajo that has commenced the construction. What do you take us for?
Let me reiterate here that no amount of campaign calumny against the present leadership can fly. No doubt, we are not yet where we ought to be, but, with the resources available, the present leadership deserves commendation.
Finally, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and his ever reliable Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo should be ready for more frivolous accusations and unfounded allegations from the individuals mentioned above and should not be perturbed or distracted, because, Nigerians aware of their antics.
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Wada Yahaya You lack sympathy for lives of Nigerians. May your family be among the next Benue kalamity, rather may you loze your source of livelihood as many others have lost theirs since Buhari came into power. |

Why do you want a girl to be rescued, a girl that you once said she was never kidnapped in the first place. Bloody hypocrites.
Well that is by the way. I and the remaining good Nigerians with conscience will continue to pray and hope for the safety release of the "christian girl called leah" It is Nigerian Mozlemz who tell us their Satanic religion preaches "idiotic peace", while kidnapping kids. |
