Erza:OK thanks. I thought I did well enough with all combination scores over 96% and was eagerly looking forward to being a part of this movement. I wish all successful applicants the best of luck. |
ezehuche:Have you gotten an invite yet? |
Erza:Sorry to bother: Any chance others who haven't received an invite yet would get one? Or is this the end? |
kenkool:You've received an invite? I'm yet to receive one |
Erza:Thanks. This puts my mind at ease ![]() |
ezehuche:I haven't. |
Erza:Can you please confirm whether or not interview invites have been sent to successful applicants? I'm becoming quite anxious having not received one yet. |
ezehuche:Great score, I think. Did you also get to submit a CV? I couldn't find the link to get that done. |
Otunba4eva:I didn't see any link to upload a CV. When did you apply, please? |
Erza:Oh OK. Thanks. |
Erza:I don't understand. Has the bootcamp began already? I just registered yesterday. |
paywriters:As someone who has graduated from a university, you ought to know that this is wrong. |
Nice one. For an escrow service though, as with all business ventures, I think you really need to spell out your terms and conditions. You know, for legal purposes. I'm not sure, for example, who is in charge of the dispute resolution process and the channels it flows through, or if there even is a dispute resolution process in the first place. I checked your site and couldn't find a clearly written Terms and Conditions document. Also, in my opinion, you need to go beyond stating that your company is registered and give real reasons why you can be trusted with client funds. Are client funds insured, for example? And with whom? The above are some of the very important issues I feel you need to address. All the same, good initiative. I wish you all the best success. EDIT: Just to add: Please put up an ABOUT US page. Tell us your company background and why you're qualified to run an escrow service. This is one of those businesses that can't do without one. |
kodewrita: Nobody is asking you to copy the complete technology stack for Coursera. Just reproduce the structure and use tools that work for you.Thanks. I'll do that. |
GraphicsPlus: Then use jquery and php (wordpress) to do it. That website is pretty simple if it's just to develop it and you will be able to add contents to it from a cms. It's just header, content and footer. The header has nav links and a header image. The content has the thumbnail images of courses and the footer has few other links. You can confidently do it with php. That website was build initially with PHP. But they later migrated to Python/Django.Thanks again. I should get started then. God bless. |
Djtm: I doubt if he'll learn and master all those now. He's already in final year. You're right, this involves a lot of work. Can you please suggest what you would consider the shortest path, you know, one that requires the smallest learning curve in order to pull this off. As it is, I have about 6-8 months to work with. Thanks. |
adewaleafolabi: Well there's lots to learn in order to accomplish a site like coursera.Thank you so much. I learnt the front end was developed with backbone.js and then I saw something about django and php too, which you have mentioned. I think I'm getting a sense of where this has to go. Thanks again. |
GraphicsPlus: if(you were asked to make it dynamic and you know html, css and a bit of php)Many thanks for your suggestions. It has to be dynamic, and yes I would love it to be as close to the original as possible. But does it have to be the whole backbone thing? |
Hello everyone, I'm currently in my final year studying computer science and I've been asked to develop a website based on the concept for which www.coursera.org was designed, which basically is to provide online learning solutions on a broad scale. Besides basic html and perhaps a little something on wordpress, I'm embarrassed to admit my web development experience leaves much to be desired. I would really appreciate if someone could take a look at the website www.coursera.org and help point me in the right direction as to how to go about developing a website similar to that. I don't even know what tools or languages to use. I'm a pretty fast learner, and I'll appreciate your suggestions to help get me started. Thanks. |

emiwanlee: 1000 pips 4 how many months? It's a one time trial offer. As soon as we accumulate 1000 pips, the trial ends. On average we are looking at between 100 and 200 pips weekly, with as little drawdown as we can manage. It very well could be more. We hope to reach our target within 2 months max, approximately 500 pips per month. Also bear in mind that most of the trades may be held long term, from a couple of days to weeks as circumstances demand. I'll be happy to answer any more questions you may have. |

Hello current/intending forex traders! This is not a joke, scam, or gimmick. I'm in the process of starting a forex signal service and as a pre-launch incentive, and also so that you'll be able to assess the quality of my signals, I'll be offering free signals daily on this thread up to 1000 pips! A little bit about me and my trading experience: Now I'm not going to give myself impressive titles, such as "forex veteran," or "timeless forex guru" or any such high sounding and absolutely meaningless names, because quite frankly I'm not any of those things. I am however a prudent, conservative trader, who looks at profitability in the long run, as opposed to making quick, short term gains that would ultimately lead to disaster. My trading method: I'm mostly a technical/price action trader. You may view a summary of my strategy on my Zulutrade account: https://www.zulutrade.com/trader/182803 About the signals: To receive the free signals, leave your email address below or send an e-mail to commonsenseforex@gmail.com. Signals would be sent to your email address. Alternatively, you can just follow this thread, they'll be posted here as well. Once we reach an accumulated 1000 pips, signals would then no longer be free but based on a monthly subscription fee that would be decided in due course. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the service, or about forex in general. If interested signify below. We shall begin on Monday, God willing. |
