Anything less is deliberately inflicting poverty on the already poor population of Nigeria.
Let us even pay US prices. But we need to earn US wages
World Bank should show us a single country where their policies ever successfully worked.
Minimum wage per month in Saudi Arabia is 4000 Saudi Arabia Riyals = 1,740,000 Naira. Litre of petrol is 2.18 Riyals = 948 Naira in Saudi Arabia.
Even in Russia minimum wage is 19,242 roubles.... equivalent of 330k Naira while PMS per litre is 55 roubles equivalent of 944 naira. |
Politics › Any Minimum Wage Less Than 1.4 Million Naira Is Unacceptable by Kewtt(op): 4:58pm On Oct 18, 2024*. Modified: 7:16pm On Oct 18, 2024 |
If PMS per litre in the US is 0.93$ = 1,520..... and a dollar is 1,635 Naira.
PMS in Nigeria is 1100. That is 72% of the US price.
Federal minimum wage in the US is 1,218$ per month. Which 72% of is 876.96$. in Naira that is 1,433,829. Hence if Nigerian people can pay 72% of the cost of fuel in the US then our minimum wage shouldn't be far away from 72% of what is obtainable in the US.

You can hear for yourself. This country is in a deep mess, no need to sugar coat or hide the reality facing us now but to think that the country will have to wait for the next 15 to 20 years before coming out of this mess is really heartbreaking. It is now a case of survival of the fittest.
Are you going to take your online business serious now? so as to keep your family afloat or you still intend to jump from one ponzi scheme to another?
A word is enough for the wise No. We are going to reset this crime scene. |

phemray: Okonjo- iweala, Sanusi Lamido, Soludo, Rewane etc said during electioneering campaign at different times that ' they pity whosoever will be the next president.
The policies are good and working but they are so painful to the masses.
But being painful to the masses does not mean the policies are not good or not working. It's painful because Nigerians are not producing, we depend on God for miracles while other countries produces why?
It's very simple, let us be honest,, how many Nigerians can open a shop with 3sales girls or boys and keep paying their salaries every month without making sales? So imagine government borrowing money to reduce fuel prices, to reduce dollar rates, to pay workers salaries and we are producing zero. Even the crude have been used to take loans for the next 30+ years. But the family and friends of the shop owners can be looting the shop then you'll tell the poor workers to take a paycut for the fraud committed by family and friends? Your head needs fixing. |

Rubbish reporting. What has "local fabrication" got to do with the accident? The problem may not even be from the cylinder but the fittings starting from the valve down overfilling. Read to show thyself approved A CNG-powered vehicle explosion at the NIPCO filling station in Aduwawa, Benin, Edo State, on Wednesday left three people severely injured, including a motorist who suffered eye injuries. An attendant at the station, who requested anonymity, told The PUNCH on Thursday that two others—a woman whose stomach was ripped open and another person whose foot was amputated due to the blast—are also receiving treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Ugbowo. |

ogaemma: My concerns for Nigerians is that our safety measures is very poor. Thursday 17/10/2024 A Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered vehicle exploded on Thursday at the Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO) filling station while its cylinder was being filled. The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the vehicle, one of many in the city that had recently adopted CNG as an alternative fuel, had a locally fabricated cylinder attached to it. One of the workers at the NIPCO filling station on the Aduwawa end of Benin metropolis, where the explosion occurred, confirmed that the incident was caused by a fake CNG cylinder fabricated by a welder for the vehicle owner. It was further gathered that the cylinder exploded while being filled, leaving many people seriously injured. One of the victims lost a leg entirely, while others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Following the incident, workers at the filling station began screening all heavy trucks and commercial vehicles in line for refueling to ensure compliance with the necessary safety regulations. The scene of the explosion was barricaded with red tape, and bloodstains were visible at the site of the blast. |

Abstract The use natural gas in transportation is well established globally with over 18 million natural gas vehicles (NGVs) distributed through more than 90 countries of the world. This paper discusses several safety issues involved with using natural gas as a transportation fuel.
After introducing the NGVs safety aspects and reviewing various standards for compressed natural gas (CNG) system, the paper discusses the 55 CNG-related accidents in Pakistan (which conduced to over 250 casualties) and analyzes the causes for these accidents and extracts “lessons to be learned” for CNG. The analysis reveals that due to low-quality CNG system material, e.g., CNG cylinder, CNG design and installation, maintenance system, etc., lack of strict government CNG vehicle safety regulations and driver negligence every year several CNG vehicles’ accidents took place in Pakistan which showed a major threat to life in Pakistan.
