Another way is to engage the Rivers state Army and NSCDC commands to take over security and restore normalcy in Rivers state via executive order.

-Let them quell the wailing wailers and arrest/execute the criminals brutally.

-When order is restored, retain them as security team so that they can clash and undermine the IGP's boys (when they foolishly return to duty). Police can't stand those 2 outfits.

-Keep as status quo throughout your tenure indefinitely.

It is more of government duty than court duty. It is what and how government present the case or allegation levelled after investigation that will determine the direction of the court to grant demolition or not. As per government officials, I have not seen what they did wrong here, so trust or no trust never come to play here

This is good development that will send signal and relay caution to any house owner that wants to give his or her house for criminal to use.. However, government team should conduct proper interview first on criminals and the house owner to know weather such house should be demolished or not. If investigation reveals that the house owner knows nothing about criminals using their uncompleted building for criminal activities and the criminals investigation also revealed that, government shouldn't demolish such house yet.

Government should caution the land owner to either covered up the entire building or put hidden cameras or government can help put proper security monitoring or plant hidden cameras inside without knowledge of house owner or criminals for some years to monitor if such occurrence will repeat itself or if criminal will gather around the building again. In this harsh economy, they don't expect every house owner to finish their house projects in a week, they shouldn't just destroy any house anyhow without diligent investigation first

If investigation hadn't linked the owner of the house to the crime, it's wrong to demolish it. I'm sure they have their details.

I know one dude who was using the house he was given to stay to host kidnap victims, he was caught and killed, but the house was not demolished because the owner wasn't aware of the criminal activities.
