His first problem is is environment, his second problem is his circle of friends.
Age has got nothing to do with it. I was in 200L at age 20, I got into school late, that was the year I counted my first 8 million naira. I was doing business, I invested my school fees and I never called home for money again, I kept building from there. When I was taking my 12.5 kg cylinder to the gas station last weekend. almost had to hug that cylinder, cause the gas tried for me, no be small. I refilled it at the end of November, hoping it would last me and my family for 2 months. Lols! I took a risk and didn’t refill it at the end of January, and boom, it took us through to the end of February, making the usage 3 months. The shocker! When I got to the gas station, I asked the attendant to weigh it so I could know how much I would need to refill. I was informed that I still had about 3.5 kg left! Haa! I spent far less than I had budgeted to refill it. Is this not God? Lols..

I bought N10,000 gas last December 2024, refill just 4 days ago. Though I use electric cooker when there's light.

When the colonialists left in 1960, they handed supremacy over the politics of Nigeria to the feudalist north, and we all know from our knowledge of political-economy that politics is what drives and determines the economics of a country! The control of Nigeria handed over to the feudalist north was not total and unquestioned owing to the structure of the country the different regions managed to negotiate for themselves at the constitutional conferences in Lancaster House, London! The Nzeogwu led coup and the uncivil war that was to follow were the opportunities seen and taken that led to the consolidation of the hegemonic control of the politics, economics and governance of Nigeria by the feudal north. But by 1999, owing to ‘democracy’, they were forced to ally with others and their total control of Nigeria was broken!

It’s interesting to note that feudal norths stranglehold on the Nigerian polity could have been broken earlier in 1987 when they were due to hand power over to the south. They knew this, and this is why there was a coup in 1983!

Hegemonic control over Nigeria still persists though, and this accounts for why the structure and political-economy the feudal north enthroned in the late 60s is yet to be overhauled. The slight difference now is that owing to ‘democracy’ the feudal north has to negotiate and ally with a southern region or power-bloc, and so hegemonic control is now shared by an alliance of domineering interests.

It should be pointed out that the emergence of ‘democracy’ doesn’t necessarily mean a watering down of the feudal norths control of Nigeria, as we saw with what happened during and after elections in 1979 when the Shagari gov’t took over from the military. The feudal north still maintained their hegemonic control of Nigeria at the time and were at liberty to choose any southern region to play second fiddle! The difference between then and 1999 was that in the latter period, they were forced to concede power and share it with the south, specifically the south-west/Yoruba, owing to June 12th and their murder of MKO Abiola.

In order words, coup plotters of 1966 already had their plan well laid out. Should the coup fail, sprinkle in ethnic coloration to divide Nigeria along ethnic lines, thereby giving British absolute control over the country. Mind you the ethnic coloration scheme against Nigeria is a pre-independence plan. A ruthless plan by the British to keep Nigeria under her control even after independence.
A united Nigeria that is well developed politically and economically is bad business for great Britain. So the only way to keep Nigeria in the mud of underdevelopment is by using USEFUL IDIOTS. This is where northernern elites came to be used as the perfect useful idiots to further balkanize the country. They just need to agree with the terms of agreement and interest of the British, and the British govt in turn will make sure they (Northern elites) remain in power. They know perfectly well that Southerners (especially Igbos) are a huge threat to them due to:

1. Their well exposed nature in education.
2. Their Independence nature of not bowing down to anybody or succumbing to anyone or any idea or agreement that is against their own interests.
3. Their industrious nature.

So the only option for the British govt is to use northerners. Having known northerners to be very obsessed with power, and will do anything as long as they're guaranteed political power, Britain used northern elites to further advance her interest in Nigeria to the detriment of Nigerians including northerners themselves (boko haram/fulani herdsmen).


What a country.
