denmzy47, honda accord(halla) do not come with factory fitted transponder keys. This is an early model of honda.

The models of 1998 and over come fitted with the system.

we have just sold the last unit we had.
we are expecting another stock.

They say "prevention is better than cure".

I recently heard the story of a young man who was attacked by armed robbers on his way home from an outing.

He got away with is life though. But, the key to his Nissan Murano was taken away by the robbers. When the dust settled he realised he had no spare key at home.

He had to tow the car home and still has the car parked in his compound because he cannot get a spare made.

I see no wisdom in not having a spare ignition key to your car.

Majority of the used cars sold in Nigeria do not come with a spare key or spare remote.
The dealers are not even aware of the standard practice neither do they have a working knowledge of the transponder system in modern cars.
