Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Does It Mean That Gifmis System Is Corrupt by Kheney89: 10:59am On Aug 27, 2020 |
Collins2028: Does it mean that GIFMIS system is corrupt: This is the question that comes to mind going by the comments of the Minister of Humanitarian affairs & Disaster Mgt. Ms Umar Sadiq Farouq, concerning the ordeals of about 12,000 N-power beneficiaries whose accounts were allegedly flagged by the system because their names were already in the payroll of some MDAs. One may be tempted to know the criteria that the system employed in verifying who is a genuine beneficiaries and who is not. Did the system rely on names of beneficiaries or their Bank Verification Numbers? Going by this half-truth, one wonders how this name-proof reading system failed to flag the accounts of many colleagues who are federal workers in some federal institutions who are also beneficiaries in the scheme. This goes on to corroborate the fact that some beneficiaries are already working in MDAs and had taken undue advantage of the former REMITA payment system. It is important to say here that many genuine N-power beneficiaries cutting across the 36 states of the federation both in Batch A and B who were never employed by any MDAs be it state or federal were victims of this fraudulent GIFMIS system. When these beneficiaries protested both online and in persons, they were told by the ministry that investigation has been launched to find out what really caused the account flagging since March 2020. Till this day nothing has been heard of it, suggesting that all the victims are workers in MDAs as claimed by the minister. It is important to note here that the GIFMIS system was introduced to check fraud and ghost workers in government agencies but the system has failed in the case of this N-power scheme as it has not only inflicted untold hardship on genuine beneficiaries but has made them to believe that everything in Nigeria is corrupt. Remember that this event happened when the whole world was in a lockdown and majority of these beneficiaries depended on this stipend as the only means of survival. Many has moved on with life against all odds comforted by the fact that the ministry had already announced the disengagment of the two batches in June and July 2020 and subsequent recruitment of Batch C. But the questions here begging for answers are: will those victims of GIFMIS migration get justice as per the 4 and 5 months backlog of stipends not paid to Batch A and B respectively because of this fraudulent system? How long is enough to finish the purported investigation by the ministry? What is the fate of these beneficiaries when it comes to exit packages and transitions as enunciated by the ministry? Conclusively, it is important to note that the numerous achievements of the Social Investment Programme under this government cannot be overemphasized as many youth had established themselves through this scheme and are now employers of labour. But it is also good to say that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. Written by a concerned citizen.
Well said and written...I think you forward this to the relevant authorities involved. Weldon |

Travel / Re: How Young Nigerians Are Investing To Leave The Country by Kheney89: 12:11pm On Sep 08, 2019 |
royalads: I just finished reading this content on nairametrics. The truth remains that you don't necessarily have to leave this country to make it in life. Oh and the notion that there is no good jobs around is a big lie. There are lots of good high paying jobs around. The question is, have you built yourself to land these jobs. These are not the jobs you get with your basic BSC from most Nigerian Universities.
A lot of you waste your time here being tribalistic while forgetting to add value to your self. Oh, in case you don't know, all these tribal battles most of you engage in have turned this platform to a playground. Most people looking for serious people don't come here anymore. I was talking to an HR consultant days back and she was looking for peeps to fill in some job vacancies with take-home of 500k and above monthly. I suggested she check on nairaland. She simply told me you don't see such calibre of people on nairaland. That she comes here only when she's looking for people for unserious roles like drivers, admin assistants and similar low ass jobs.
Leave nairaland and go and build yourself for the future. So what do advice...how does one start's to build his future? Recommend something one can go into? |
