Edidem Ekpo Otu, Obong of Calabar, has asked Ben Ayade, governor of Cross River state, to step aside, Daily Trust is reporting.

According to the newspaper, the prominent traditional ruler blamed Ayade for the vandalism, looting and destruction of public and private property in the state last week.

He reportedly said the governor needs to step aside to enable an interim administration come up so that he can learn governance.

Family and friends of late Ibidun Ajayi-Ighodalo converged this evening to sing hymns, psalms and light candles in her honor.

Ibidun sadly passed away on Sunday, June 14 leaving behind her children, Zenan and Keke, and her hubby, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.

Gospel artistes like Tope Alabi, Efe Nathan, Sammie Okposo, Tosin Martins, Buchi, and others rendered powerful songs at the service.

An emotional moment in the service was when late Ibidun's daughter, Zenan, also rendered a thanksgiving song at the service.

Ibidun will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 20.

A man has cried out over the stigmatization he is having to deal with since he was discharged from the COVID-19 isolation centre in Edo state after he appeared on TV.

This was after a video of the man, Osas Isaac, at the isolation centre was shown on TV to state that coronavirus is real.

He claims he was discharged after 16 days at the Isolation and has been facing stigmatization since he was discharged.

He claims he has been given quit notice from his home by his landlord and his employers have also laid him off. All which he claims are due to stigmatization.

Music artist manager and the founder of record label Made Men Music Group (Triple MG), Ubi Franklin lamented about his house being flooded with water caused by the rain that has been falling since yesterday.

Taking to Instagram, Ubi wrote:

“At About 5:30 am, I heard a knock on my door, and when I came out it was my PA “sir the house is flooded” everywhere was flooded.
The Roof came off, POP soaked and it was raining directly into one of the guest rooms upstairs and luckily the person sleeping in the room was not hurt.

A Nigerian man in a video posted on Twitter has accused some police officers on a highway of forcefully removing his car battery because he refused to give them a bribe.

The Viral Trendz said on Twitter in its description of the video, “Nigerian police officers seen removing battery from a road user’s car as the driver allegedly refused to give bribe during a stop-and-Search.”

Two mobile police officers are seen in the video closing the bonnet of a Lexus car, as they walked away with the car battery, towards a police truck parked by the roadside.

Altogether, there were about five officers around the scene of the incident.

The man, apparently the car driver, is heard yelling at the police officers. His face is not shown in the video.

“You dey see wetin police dey do?” The unidentified driver said in Pidgin English. “You dey carry my battery, abi?

“The money wey you wan make for this road today, if you make am make I change my name. You no go make-am.”

Throughout the 21-seconds video, the officers were not seen or heard demanding bribe from the driver.

The Complaint Response Unit (@PoliceNG_CRU) of the Nigerian police has requested information on where and when the incident happened to aid in their investigation.

A married woman is in serious trouble after visiting her married lover in his house for intimacy.

Reports gathered that the married man collapsed after intimacy romp with her. The lady however denied having anything to do with what happened.

She pleaded innocence while regretting the fact that she left her kids at home to visit him, only for him to collapse after intimacy.

She also begged eye witnesses to allow her go back to her house and take care of the kids she left at home.

The victim was subsequently rushed to the hospital on a bike.

Renowned Nigerian OAP, Tolulope Oniru-Demuren better known as Toolz has told a painful story of how she lost her first child.

The 38-year-old OAP made this known in the latest episode of Life Lessons with Betty Irabor on Thursday, June 4.

Toolz who was recently appointed Programs Director at Beat FM, shared her tragic experience about what it felt like losing a baby after 6 months pregnancy.

According to her, she was extremely excited and began looking forward to childbirth after she got pregnant some months after her wedding.

Sadly, as her pregnancy approached 6 months, she noticed she had never felt any movement in her womb and began seeking medical attention.

She eventually flew to the UK after Nigerian hospitals “missed a few things and didn’t pick up on the problem” early enough.

Upon visiting a hospital in the UK, an ultra scan showed her baby was too small and may not survive.

“I never once thought that the health of my child would be an issue,” Toolz said.

Speaking further during during the programme, she said her Doctor told her the baby was no longer alive and thus, would need to push the dead baby out.

“I heard a voice saying ‘this isn’t going to work out but you’re going to be OK”, Toolz said she went spiritual at that moment.

In her words; “That was horrible, When we did the last scan, there was nothing, no movement.”

“Oh my gosh, it was horrible, it was absolutely horrible,” she added.

The OAP said the Doctor gave her some medications that were supposed to make her go into labour three days later.

After receiving the medications on Thursday, she was told to return on Sunday.

However, she went into labour on Saturday, a day before the assumed day.

On that fateful day, she was preparing breakfast on that fateful Saturday when she felt sharp pains.

She recounted; “I was in so much pain and that’s when I realized that gosh, I’m in labour. I was in labour for hours.

“It was very very traumatic. I try not to think about it too much.

“This was in the UK, they had to do like an autopsy, I had to arrange a funeral. It was horrible.

“That whole time, I was just like, ‘Yeah, God, I’m done’. I’m like ‘come and take me, I’m gone’.”


Nevertheless, the OAP went on to reveal how she was later blessed with a handsome son after losing her first child.
