Family Reunion Visa (VITEM XI)
DON'T TRAVEL TO BRAZIL BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR YOUR DEPENDANTS.

AS A BENEFICIARY OF A TEMPORAY VISA, (VITEM 1, IV and V) You can travel with your family, IF YOU WANT.
But you have to apply for them after you've gotten your own visa. DON'T Travel to Brazil before you start your dependants' application. Apply immediately you receive your Visa. As the main applicant, all you need to add to your dependants' application are the copy of the VISA page and your DATA Page.

And of course, sufficient proof of funds alongside the other documents of your dependants.

The moment you entered Brazil the main applicant will be required to add more documents, which you might not be able to provide on time...
Please how many years visa is given to a dependent family of a temporary resident holder and what type of visa is that?

First of all, whenever you see the guy named Emmanuel — the one Tunde Ednut posted a video about — just know that although Emmanuel paid Tunde Ednut for the post, it's not Tunde's fault. Emmanuel made a video about Brazil’s visa process, leaking many sensitive details and also spreading false information. Hold him responsible for all of this. As for the agents advertising visas on social media, most of them are fake. Be warned!
Ok thanks for the disclaimer, pleass can you post the link to the video I want to watch it. The agent am talking about is a random one am following on x.

6 months and counting since I applied for visiting visa, even my pp will expire in 3 month time and I need to renew it, agents are posting visa approval regularly while us that DIY don't know whether we are getting approval or not, I just pray I don't get denied after keeping my pp and documents for ages. I've sent several emails to know the situation of my application but no response. May God help us sha.

Good Morning, when one gets approved and ready for delivery, do you have to contact DHL to go and pick up from the Lagos Embassy or how does it work to get your documents and passport back please. Thank you.
Congratulations on your approval.
Please what type of visa did you apply for and how long after interview did it take before you got approved?

Only the Embassy can answer this question.
We applied in July, later in October we received an email asking us to provide another flight reservation, hotel bookings and bank statement, which we did.
In November, they sent another email requesting for the same thing again.
Finally we got the visas in December. Even while checking the status on their website, our application went from "under review" to "record not found",
I'd advise you to not cancel the application and wait it out until they make a decision, unless you need to use your passport.
Goodluck.
Ok thanks

Hello my people, please does the embassy holding back one's passport and documents for long means the person will get the visa? The last time I was denied, they gave me back my passport and documents within few days after interview. Please does anyone has an answer to this? 👆👆

Dear VITEM XI applicants,

This message is to inform the updated list of required documents for current and future family reunion visa (VITEM XI) applications in case of VITEM holders (study/work permit and other temporary residence visa).

In all cases of VITEM holders who are not yet living in Brazil, it is mandatory to sign a declaration in behalf of family members (spouse and children) applying for family reunion visa (VITEM XI).

The consulate recomends to all VITEM I and VITEM IV beneficiaries/applicants, to request a letter from the institution/university in Brazil, acknowledging that the researcher/professor/student has informed to be travelling with family (listing the name of spouse and children, accordingly).

The declaration must be notarized!

Kindly see atttachments for information on the required documents for family reunion visa applicants, specially in case of children (minors).

SIGNATURE AUTHENTICATION: CPF and RNE/RNM card holders may benefit of the free eletronic signature provided by the federal government platform of public services: Gov.br.

Congratulations on your baby.
Almost all embassy will deny you a visa if you have less than 6 months validity on your passport.
You can apply for a passport renewal even if your current one isnt expired, it's called extension of validity.
Thank you for your contribution; as at the time of my application,I have more than 6 months validity on my passport but due to the Embassy delay, am afraid it will affect my visa approval, I hope for the best.

I go with what Obinnau said.

Since you've had the baby already, I would suggest you retrieve your passport and apply for other visas (if you have a UK or Schenghen, you can use this to Mexico) that don't take as long a waiting time.
But if you've made up your mind on Brazil (like me🙈), retrieve and get a new one, then apply again so there's no issue of validity of passport or visa. All the best!
Ok thanks for your advice 👍
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by kindness111: 10:29am On Jan 14, 2025
Obinnau:
Visas are issued according to the 1. Approved length of stay for the country of origin if traveller or 2. The maximum limit on the passport of the traveller.

I your case as a Nigerian, you get normal 1 year multiple entry visitor visa. But since your passport is less than the 1 year visa you could have got, they will give you visa equivalent to the remaining duration of your passport. Bear in mind that sometimes they will not give you the visa because you have less than 6 months validity remaining on your passport (some Embassies, I don't know of Brazil)
Ok thanks.
